1 Chikulupi chili kukola usyene wa indu itukuilolela ni kuitichisya kusyene kuti indu yangaikuwoneka ipali.
But faith is the confidence of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
2 Pakuŵa, kwa chikulupi chao, achachekulu ŵetu ŵakundikwe ni Akunnungu.
For by it the elders receive the witness of the Spirit.
3 Kwa chikulupi tukumanyilila kuti chilambo chagumbikwe kwa liloŵe lya Akunnungu, namose indu yaikuwoneka yagumbikwe mu indu yangaikuwoneka. (aiōn g165)
By faith we understand that the worlds were created by the word of God, and that which was seen was not made from things which are manifest. (aiōn g165)
4 Kwa chikulupi che Habili ŵatajile Akunnungu mbopesi jambone kupunda ni ji che Kaini. Kwapele ŵakundikwe ni Akunnungu pakuŵa Akunnungu nsyene ŵajikundile mbopesi jakwe. Namuno che Habili awile, ipanganyo yao ikutujiganya mpaka sambano.
By faith Abel offered up to God a more acceptable sacrifice than Cain, through which he received the witness that he was righteous, God witnessing to his gifts: and through it he having died is still speaking.
5 Kwa chikulupi, che Enoki ŵanyakulikwe ni Akunnungu kuti akasachiona chiwa. Nganaoneka sooni pakuŵa ŵajigalikwe ni Akunnungu. Malembelo ga Akunnungu gakusala kuti akanaŵe kwigalikwa che Enoki ŵaanonyelesye Akunnungu.
By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and he was not found because God translated him. For before he was translated he had the witness of the Spirit, that he pleased God:
6 Nambo, pangali chikulupi ngapagwa mundu jwakukombola kwanonyelesya Akunnungu. Pakuŵa mundu jwakusaka kwajaulila Akunnungu akusachilwa akulupilile kuti Akunnungu apali, sooni kuti akwapa ntulilo ŵelewo ŵakwasosa.
but without faith it is impossible to please him: for it behooves the one coming unto God to believe that he is, and he is a rewarder unto them who seek him out.
7 Kwa chikulupi, che Nuhu ŵajamwikwe ni Akunnungu nkati indu ichikopochele, yakanaiwoneche chiŵela, ŵanjitichisye Akunnungu ni kukolosya ngalaŵa jajikulungwa jajikuŵilanjikwa safina. Mwelemo nsyene pamo ni ŵandu ŵa pannango wakwe chakulupuswe. Kwa chikulupi chakwe ŵandu ŵa pa chilambo wose ŵalamulikwe kuti akwete sambi nombejo ŵaŵalanjikwe jwambone paujo pa Akunnungu.
By faith Noah, being warned concerning things not yet seen, being moved with fear, prepared an ark for the salvation of his family; by which he condemned the world, and became heir to the righteousness which is according to faith.
8 Kwa chikulupi, che Iblahimu ŵanjitichisye Akunnungu apala paŵaŵilanjikwe ajaule ku chilambo chiŵalanjikwe ni Akunnungu kuti chiŵe chao. Ŵatyosile pa chilambo chao ni kwaula kwiuto kwanganakumanyilila.
By faith Abraham, being called to go out into a place which he was about to receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and went out, not knowing whither he goes.
9 Kwa chikulupi, ŵatemi mu chele chilambo cha chilanga mpela jwannendo. Ŵatemi kweleko mu masakasa mpela iŵatesile che Isaka pamo ni che Yakobo, ŵati nombewo ŵapochele chilanga chila chila kutyochela kwa Akunnungu.
By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as a strange country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, fellow-heirs of the same promise:
10 Pakuŵa che Iblahimu ŵaulolele musi wauli ni misingi jakulimbangana, musi wati Akunnungu nsyene ni uŵaganisisye ni kuutaŵa.
for he anticipated a city having foundations, whose builder and maker is God.
11 Iyoyo peyo kwa chikulupi che Sala, namuno ŵachekulwipe kwannope, ŵapochele ukombole wa kukola chitumbo, pakuŵa ŵakulupilile kuti Akunnungu chatindimisye chilanga chakwe.
And by faith Sarah herself received power unto the conception of seed, even past the time of age, since she considered him faithful who had promised.
12 Kwa ligongo li, kutyochela kwa mundu jumo che Iblahimu juŵaliji mpela jwammwe, ŵapagwile ŵandu ŵajinji ŵangaŵalanjikwa mpela ndondwa sya kwinani ni mpela nsanga wa mungulugulu bahali.
Therefore indeed they were born of one, and those things of one having died, as the stars of heaven for multitude, and as the sands which are by the sea, which are innumerable.
13 Aŵa wose ŵawile ali nkwakulupilila Akunnungu nganapochela aila iŵalanjile, nambo ŵaiweni kwakutalichila ni kuisangalalila, ŵajitichisye kuti ŵaliji achalendo ni ŵandu ŵanganakola pakutama pa chilambo nti pao.
These all died in the faith, not having received the promises, but seeing them afar off, and embracing them, and confessing that they are strangers and pilgrims on the earth.
14 Pakuŵa ŵandu ŵakuŵecheta maloŵe gati iyiyi akulosya kuti ali nkuchisosasosa chilambo chiŵe chao achinsyene.
For those speaking such things declare that they are seeking after a country of their own.
15 Ikaliji akuganisya ku chilambo kuŵakopochele kula, akakwete lipesa lyakuujila kukoko.
If indeed they remember that country from which they came out, they would have had an opportunity to return;
16 Nambo sambano akusakanga chilambo chachili chambone kupunda, chachili chilambo cha kwinani. Kwa ligongo lyo Akunnungu ngasikwatenda soni ŵandu wo pakwaŵilanga kuti ali Akunnungu ŵao pakuŵa ŵaŵichile chile musi.
but now they seek a better country, that is, a heavenly. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he has prepared for them a city.
17 Kwa chikulupi, che Iblahimu paŵalinjikwe chikulupi chao ni Akunnungu, ŵantyosisye a Isaka nti mbopesi. Che Iblahimu ŵapochele chilanga cho, ni ŵakundile kuntyosya mbopesi mwanagwe jwa jikajika pe.
By faith Abraham, being tested, offered up Isaac: and the one having received the promises offered up his only begotten son,
18 Namuno Akunnungu ŵaasalile, “Uŵelesi wenu chiutyochele ni che Isaka.”
in reference to whom it was said, In Isaac shall thy seed be called:
19 Che Iblahimu ŵakulupilile kuti Akunnungu akukombola kwasyusya ŵandu ŵawile, ni tukukombola kusala nti chitagu kuti isyene che Iblahimu ŵakombwele kumpata sooni mwanagwe juŵaliji mpela jwammwe.
considering that God is able to raise him from the dead; whence he also received him in a figure.
20 Kwa chikulupi che Isaka ŵapele upile che Yakobo ni che Esau kuti akole upile kwa indu yaikwika mmbujo.
By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau concerning things to come.
21 Kwa chikulupi che Yakobo paŵaliji kuŵandichila kuwa, ŵampele upile kila jumo jwa ŵanache ŵa che Yusufu, ni kwapopelela Akunnungu achijegamilaga nkongojo wakwe.
By faith Jacob, when dying, blessed each one of the sons of Joseph, and worshiped, on the hilt of his staff.
22 Kwa chikulupi, che Yusufu paŵaŵandichile kuwa, ŵaŵechete yankati kutyoka kwa Ŵaisilaeli mu chilambo cha Misili, ni ŵalajichisye agajigale maupa gao pachachityoka ku Misili.
By faith Joseph, dying, made mention concerning the exodus of the children of Israel; and commanded concerning his own bones.
23 Kwa chikulupi che Musa paŵapagwilwe ŵasisikwe miesi jitatu ni achaŵelesi ŵakwe, pakuŵa ŵaiweni kuti ali mwanache jwakusalala, ni nganagajogopa makanyo ga mwenye jwa ku Misili.
By faith Moses, having been born, was hidden three months by his parents, because they saw that he was a beautiful child; and did not fear the commandment of the king.
24 Kwa chikulupi che Musa paŵakusile, ŵakanile kuŵilanjikwa mwanache jwa mwali jwa mwenye jwa ku Misili.
By faith Moses, having become an adult, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter;
25 Ŵaiweni mbaya kusauswa pamo ni ŵandu ŵa Akunnungu kupunda kukola lukondwa mu sambi kwa katema kakajipi.
choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasure of sin for a season;
26 Ŵaimanyi kuti kulaga kwa ligongo lya Kilisito kuli kwakusichila kupunda ipanje yose ya chilambo cha Misili, pakuŵa ŵaliji nkulolela mbote.
esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures of Egypt: for he was looking unto the recompense of reward.
27 Kwa chikulupi che Musa ŵasaamile ku Misili pangajogopa lutumbilo lwa mwenye, ni ŵajendelechele mmbujo, pakuŵa ŵaliji mpela mundu juŵaweni Akunnungu ŵangakuwoneka.
By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he went out, as seeing the invisible one.
28 Kwa chikulupi ŵachipangenye chindimba cha Pasaka ni kulajisya miasi jimisikwe pachanya nnango kuti katumetume jwa kwinani jwatumikwe kwikanacho chiwa, akaulaga ŵanache ŵa kwitiwo ŵa chilume mu chilambo cha Isilaeli.
By faith he instituted the passover, and the sprinkling of blood, in order that the one destroying the first-born might not touch them.
29 Kwa chikulupi Ŵaisilaeli ŵajombweche bahali ja shamu mpela petaka, nambo Ŵamisili paŵalinjile kutenda yeleyo, ŵatitimile ni kuwa mmeesi.
By faith they pass through the Red sea as through dry land: the undertaking of which the Egyptians having entered upon were drowned.
30 Kwa chikulupi makumba ga chilambo cha ku Yeliko gagwile Ŵaisilaeli paŵagasyungwile makumba go moŵa saba.
By faith the walls of Jericho fell, having been encompassed about seven days,
31 Kwa chikulupi che Lahabu jwakulaŵalaŵa jula nganajonasikwa pamo ni ŵaŵakanile kwajitichisya Akunnungu ŵala, ligongo ŵaapochele kwa chitendewele ŵakuuchilichisya ŵala.
By faith Rahab the harlot perished not with the unbelievers, having received the spies with peace.
32 None chinyonjechesye maloŵe chi? Pakuŵa katema kapelembele kusala ngani si che Gideoni ni che Balaki ni che Sansoni ni che Yefuta ni che Daudi ni che Samweli ni ŵakulondola ŵa Akunnungu.
And what do I yet say? time will fail me relating concerning Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, and David, and Samuel, and the prophets:
33 Kwa chikulupi ŵanyawo wose ŵamenyene ni mamwenye ni ŵaapundile, ŵatesile indu yambone paujo pa Akunnungu, ŵapochele ilanga ya Akunnungu. Ŵataŵile kang'wa sya masimba,
who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness,
34 ŵagasimile machili ga mooto wakalipa, ni ŵautwiche kuulajikwa kwa lipanga. Kulepetala kwao kwagalawiche ni ŵapatile machili, ŵalimbichile mu ngondo ni kwapunda ŵangondo ŵachilendo.
obtained promises, escaped the edge of the sword, from weakness became filled up with dynamite, became mighty in war, put to flight the armies of the aliens:
35 Achakongwe ŵane ŵaŵakulupilile ŵaapochele ŵandu ŵao ŵaŵasyusikwe paŵamasile kuwa. Nambo ŵane ŵakanile kugopolwa, ŵakundile kulagaswa mpaka kuwa, kuti ausimane usyusyo ni kwinjila mu utame wauli wambone mwakupunda.
women receive their dead from a resurrection: some were tortured, not accepting deliverance; in order that they might receive a better resurrection:
36 Ŵane ŵanyelwiswe ni kuputikwa mbokola, ni ŵane ŵataŵikwe nyolo ni kuponyekwa mu nyuumba jakutaŵilwa.
and others received the trial of scourgings and mockings, and still of bonds and imprisonment:
37 Ŵaulajikwe kwa kwaponya maganga, ŵane ŵaakatenye ipandeipande kwa misumeno pane kuwa kwa lipanga. Ŵajendajendaga achiwalaga mapende ga ngondolo ni mbusi, ŵaliji ŵa kulaga, ŵalageswe ni kupanganyichiswa yangalumbana.
they were stoned, they were tempted, they were burnt, they died by the edge of the sword; they went about in sheepskins, in goatskins; being destitute, troubled, persecuted,
38 Chilambo nganichiŵajilwa kuŵa ni ŵandu mpela ŵanyawo. Ŵajendajendaga mwikonde ni mmatumbi achitamaga mu mbugu ni mmasimbo.
of whom the world was not worthy; wandering in deserts, and in mountains, and caves and dens of the earth.
39 Ŵandu ŵa wose ŵawoneche ni Akunnungu kuti atesile yambone mu chikulupi chao nambo nganachipochela chiŵalanjile Akunnungu cho,
And all these, having received the witness of the spirit through faith, did not obtain the promise:
40 pakuŵa Akunnungu ŵalongolele kutuŵichila chindu chachili chambone mwakupunda kwa liwamba lyetu. Akunnungu ŵasachile kuti ŵanyawo aŵaga ni uwe pe tutendekwe ŵamalile.
God having reserved something better for us, that they might not be made perfect apart from us.
