After making Peter and John stand before them, they began to question them: “By what power or by what name did you do this?”
8 Pelepo che Petulo ali aguumbele Mbumu jwa Akunnungu, ŵajanjile, “Mwanya Ilongola ŵa ŵandu ni achachekulu!
Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, “Rulers of the people and elders of Israel,

There is salvation in no other, for there is no other name given among men by which we must be saved.”

When they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and when they realized that they were uneducated and untrained men, they were amazed and recognized that they had been with Jesus.
14 Nambo paŵambweni mundu juŵalamiswe jula ali ajimi pamo nawo, nganakola chakuŵecheta.
But since they could see the man who had been healed standing there with them, they had nothing to say in opposition.
15 Nipele, ŵalamwile che Petulo ni che Yohana ajaulangane paasa pa Nkungulu ni achakulu ŵa Nkungulu ŵasigalile nkati achiusyanaga achinsyene pe.
So they ordered Peter and John to step out from the Sanhedrin while they conferred with one another,

17 Nambo pakuti tusiŵile ikajenela nnope kwa ŵandu twajamuche kuti akaŵecheta ni mundu jwalijose kwa liina li Che Yesu.”
But so that it may not spread any further among the people, we will strictly warn them to speak no more in this name to any of the people.”
18 Nipele ilongola ŵaaŵilasile sooni nkati ni kwakanya kuti anaŵechete sooni pelanga, atamuno kwiganya mu liina li Che Yesu.
Then they called them in and ordered them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus.

But Peter and John answered them, “Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you rather than to God, you must judge.
20 Pakuŵa ngatukombola kuleka kusala yeila itwiweni ni kuipilikana.”
For we cannot help but speak about what we have seen and heard.”

So after threatening Peter and John further, they released them, finding no way to punish them, because all the people were glorifying God for what had happened.
22 Ni ajula mundu juŵalamiswe kwa litala lya chimanyisyo chi, ŵaliji jwampunde yaka alobaini.
For the man on whom this sign of healing had been performed was more than forty years old.

And now, Lord, take note of their threats and grant it to yoʋr servants to speak yoʋr word with all boldness,

31 Paŵamalisisye kupopela, peuto paŵasongangene pala patenganiche, ni wose ŵagumbele Mbumu jwa Akunnungu ni ŵajendelechele kulalichila liloŵe lya Akunnungu pangali lipamba.
After they prayed, the place where they were gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking the word of God with boldness.
