1 Nipele, yaliji che Apolo paŵaliji ku Kolinto, che Paolo ŵapite kuchilambo cha ikwesya ni ŵaiche ku Efeso. Kweleko ŵaasimene ŵakulijiganya ŵane ŵa Che Yesu,
AND while Apolu was in Kurinthos, Paulos itinerated through the upper countries unto Ephesos; and he asked those disciples whom he found there,
2 ni ŵausisye, “Ana pamwakulupilile Che Yesu mwampochele Mbumu jwa Akunnungu?” Ni ŵanyawo ŵajanjile, “Ngwamba! Natamuno kupilikana kose nganitupilikane kuti apali Mbumu jwa Akunnungu.”
Have you received the Spirit of Holiness from that you believed? They answered and said to him, It hath not been heard by us whether there be the Spirit.
3 Ni che Paolo ŵausisye, “Nambi mwabatiswe ubatiso chi?” Ni ŵanyawo ŵajanjile, “Ubatiso u che Yohana.”
He saith to them, And into what were you baptized? They said, Into the baptism of Juhanon.
4 Che Paolo ŵatite, “Ubatiso u che Yohana waliji wakulosya kuti ŵandu alesile sambi. Che Yohana ŵaasalile ŵandu ŵaakulupilile ŵatachiika panyuma pao, ŵelewo ali Che Yesu.”
Paulos saith to them, Juhanon baptized the people with the baptism of repentance, saying that they should believe in him who was coming after him, who is Jeshu Meshiha.
5 Paŵapilikene yeleyo ŵabatiswe kwa liina lya Ambuje Che Yesu.
And when they heard these (words), they were baptized in the name of our Lord Jeshu Meshiha.
6 Nipele, che Paolo ŵaŵisile makono gao pa ŵanyawo, ni Mbumu jwa Akunnungu ŵaatuluchile ni ŵatandite kuŵechetanga iŵecheto ineine, iyoyo ŵatandite kulalichila utenga wa Akunnungu.
And Paulos laid on them the hand, and the Spirit of Holiness came upon them, and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.
7 Ŵandu wose wo ŵaliji mpela ŵandu likumi ni ŵaŵili.
But all the men were twelve.
8 Che Paolo ŵajinjilaga mu nyuumba ja kupopelela jila kwa miesi jitatu ni ŵaachisyaga kuti akulupilile Umwenye wa Akunnungu.
And Paulos entered the synagogue, and discoursed boldly three months, and persuaded concerning the kingdom of Aloha.
9 Nambo ŵandu ŵane ŵaliji ŵakukakatima mitima ni ŵakanile kukulupilila, ŵatandite kuŵechetanga yangalumbana nkati ŵandu ŵakulikuya Litala lya Ambuje pasikati ja ŵandu. Pelepo che Paolo ŵaalesile, ŵaajigele ŵakulijiganya ŵa Ambuje ni ŵaliji nkukunguluka nawo moŵa gose mu chuumba chakulijiganyila chi che Tulona.
And men of them were obdurate, and contended, and reviled the way of Aloha, before the assembly of the people. Then Paulos removed and separated from them the disciples, and every day discoursed with them in the school of a man whose name was Tyranos.
10 Yeleyo yatendekwe yaka iŵili mpaka ŵandu wose ŵaŵatamaga ku Asia ni Ŵayahudi pamo ni Ŵagiliki, ŵapilikene Liloŵe lya Ambuje.
And this was done two years, until all who dwelt in Asia, Jihudoyee and Aramoyee, had heard the word of the Lord.
11 Akunnungu ŵapanganyisye yakusimonjeka yejinji kwa makono ga che Paolo.
And great power-works wrought Aloha by the hand of Paulos;
12 Ŵandu ŵajigalaga namose iguo ya mwana ni iwalo ine iŵaikwaiye che Paolo, ŵaijawisye kwa ŵakulwala ni ŵakulwala wo ŵalamiswe ilwele yao, ni aŵala ŵaŵakwete masoka gaakopweche.
so that they brought even from the garments that were upon his body napkins or wrappings, and laid them upon the sick, and the diseases went from them; and demons also went forth.
13 Ŵayahudi ŵampepe ŵakugaŵinga masoka mwa ŵandu, ŵajesilejesile akuno ni akunokuno achilingaga kulikolanga liina lya Ambuje Che Yesu, kwa ŵele ŵaŵakwete masoka achitiji, “Ngunsalila kwa liina lya Ambuje Che Yesu jwakulalichilwa ni che Paolo, ntyoche.”
BUT men, Jihudoyee, also, who went about and adjured demons, willed to adjure in the name of our Lord Jeshu over those who had unclean spirits, saying, We adjure you in the name of Jeshu whom Paulos preacheth.
14 Ŵaŵatendaga yeleyo, ŵaliji ŵanache nsano ni ŵaŵili wa che Sikewa Jŵambopesi Jwankulu jwa Chiyahudi.
There were seven sons of a man, a certain Jihudoya, chief of the priests, whose name was Skeva, who did this.
15 Nambo lisoka lila lyaajanjile ŵanyawo, “Che Yesu ngwamanyilila ni che Paolo nombejo ngummanyilila, nambo ŵanyamwe ndi ŵaani?”
And that evil demon answered and said to them, Jeshu I acknowledge, and Paulos I know; but who are you?
16 Nipele jwamasoka jo ŵasumbile ni kwagalagasya mpaka ŵanache ŵa che Sikewa wo ŵautwiche mu nyuumba jo ali matakope ni maŵanga gakwe.
And the man in whom was the evil spirit sprang upon them, and was strong against them, and threw them, and they, naked and wounded, fled from that house.
17 Ngani ji jamanyiche kwa jwalijose juŵatamaga ku Efeso, kutandila Myahudi kwichila Ŵagiliki. Wose ŵakamwilwe ni lipamba, ni ŵalikusisye liina lya Ambuje Che Yesu.
And this was known to all the Jihudoyee and Aramoyee who dwelt in Ephesos: and fear fell upon them all, and the name of our Lord Jeshu Meshiha was exalted.
18 Ŵajinji mwa ŵele ŵaŵakulupilile Che Yesu ŵaiche ni ŵajitichisye paujo pa ŵandu yangalimate iŵaitesile.
And many of those who believed came and acknowledged their sins, and confessed whatever they had done.
19 Ŵane ŵaŵatendaga usaŵi ndanda jo, ŵajigele itabu yao iŵaitendelaga usaŵi yo ni kwijocha paujo pa ŵandu. Ŵaŵalasile ntengo wa itabu yo ni kusimana mbiya syesijinji.
Many also of the magicians collected their writings and brought and burned them before all men; and they reckoned the price of them, and it ascended to silver five myriads.
20 Kwanti yeleyo, Liloŵe lya Ambuje lyapundile ni kwenela ni kola machili nnope.
And thus with great power prevailed and increased the faith of Aloha.
21 Payamasile yeleyo, che Paolo ŵasachile kwaula ku Yelusalemu achipitilaga ku Makedonia ni ku Akaya. Ŵatite, “Pachiiche kweleko, ikuumajila kwaula ku Loma nombe.”
But when these were fulfilled, Paulos set in his mind to itinerate throughout all Makedunia and Akaia, and to go into Urishlem. And he said, When I shall have gone thither, it behoveth me Ruma also to see.
22 Ni ŵalajisye ŵaŵili mwa ŵakwakamuchisya ŵao, che Timoseo ni che Elasto, kuti ŵalongolele ku Makedonia ni nsyene ŵasigalile mu Asia kwa katema.
And he sent two men of those who ministered to him to Makedunia, Timotheos and Aristos; but he remained a time in Asia.
23 Katema ko ni katema kakatyochele utinda wekulungwa ku Efeso ko ligongo lya Litala lya Ambuje.
BUT there was made at that time a great tumult on account of the way of Aloha.
24 Jwapali mundu liina lyakwe che Demetilio jwakusyana madini ga feza. Jweleju ŵaliji ni masengo ga kolosya inyago ya nyuumba sya mwana sisyaliji mpela nyuumba ja nnungu jwankongwe jwakuŵilanjikwa Atemi. Masengo go gaapokasisye kwannope ŵamasengo ŵao.
For there was a certain worker of silver there whose name was Dimitrios, who made shrines of silver of Artemis, and he produced for the sons of his art great gains.
25 Che Demetilio ŵasongangenye ŵamasengo ŵao pamo ni ŵandu ŵane ŵaŵaliji ŵamasengo mpela gagogo pego ni kwasalila, “Ŵandumwe, nkumanyililanga kuti ipanje yetu itukupata yi ikukopoka mmalonda gagaga pega.
This (man) assembled all the sons of his art and those who wrought with them, and said to them, Men, you know that all our merchandise is from this work;
26 Sano nkulola ni kulipikanila mwachinsyene che Paolo yakuti pakupanganya, nombe ngaŵa pa Efeso pe nambo pa Asia pose. Che Paolo ju ŵaachisisye ni kwagalausya ŵandu ajitichisye kuti achiminungu ŵapanganyiswe ni makono ga ŵandu ngaŵa achiminungu ŵa usyene.
and you also hear and see, that not only the sons of Ephesos, but also many of all Asia, this Paulos persuadeth, and hath perverted them, saying, that there be no gods which by the hands of men are made.
27 Nipele kupikaniche kuti malonda getu ga chigajaluche. Ni ngaŵa malonda getu pega, nambo ni nyuumba ja nnungu jwankongwe Atemi ngajichimbichikwa kose. Ni mbesi jakwe lumbili lwa ŵelewo ŵakunlamba ŵa Asia wose ni ŵandu wose ŵa mchilambo chiuchimala.”
And not only is this business defamed and brought to an end, but also the temple of Artemis the great goddess is reputed as nothing, and she also, the goddess of all Asia, and (whom) all the nations worship, is despised.
28 Ŵandu ŵala paŵapilikene yeleyo yaachimile kwannope ni kutanda gumilanga achitiji, “Jwankulu ali Atemi jwa Ŵaefeso!”
And when they heard these (words) they were filled with wrath; and they cried, and said, Great is Artemis of the Ephesoyee.
29 Musi wose wagumbele utindiganyo. Ni ŵaakamwile che Gayo ni che Alisitako, ŵaŵatamaga ku Makedonia ŵaŵaliji mu ulendo umo ni che Paolo, ni ŵaajawisye kwa kwanguya kuluŵala lwa micheso.
And the whole city was perturbed, and they ran together and came to the theatre; and seizing, they led with them Gaios and Aristarkos, men of Makedunia, companions of Paulos.
30 Che Paolo nsyene ŵasachile kwinjila mu mpingo wa ŵandu mula nambo ŵakwakuya ŵala ŵankanyisye.
AND Paulos willed to enter the theatre, and the disciples restrained him.
31 Achakulu ŵane ŵa chilambo cha ku Asia ŵaliji achambusanga ŵao che Paolo, ŵapelechele utenga wakwachondelela kuti akalijausya nsyene ku luŵala lwa micheso ko.
And the chiefs of Asia, because they were his friends, sent, praying of him not to deliver himself by going into the theatre.
32 Katema ko kila mundu jwagumisile, ŵane achi ni ŵane achila, pakuŵa nkungulu ula waliji jugulijuguli, ŵajinji nganaimanyililanga ligongo lya kusongangana kwao.
But the crowd who were in the theatre were greatly commoved, and others cried other things; for many of them knew not on what account they were assembled.
33 Pakuŵa Ŵayahudi ŵantesile che Alekisanda akopoche mmbujo mwa ŵandu, ŵandu ŵampepe mu mpingo mula ŵaganisisye kuti ali jwelejo. Nipele che Alekisanda ŵajongwele nkono ni kwamyalasya achisakaga kuliŵalanga paujo pa mpingo wa ŵandu.
But the people of the Jihudoyee who were there appointed of them a man a Jihudoya, whose name was Aleksandros; and when he stood (forth) he signed that he would apologize to the people.
34 Nambo paŵammanyilile kuti ŵaliji Myahudi, wose ŵagumisile kwana kamo kwa masaa gaŵili, “Jwankulu ali Atemi jwa Ŵaefeso!”
And when they knew that he was a Jihudoya, all of them cried with one voice, as two hours, Great is Artemis of the Ephesoyee!
35 Mbesi, jwakulemba jwa pamusi po ŵakombwele kwamyalasya, ŵaasalile, “Ŵanyamwe ŵandu ŵa ku Efeso, kila mundu pelepa akumanyilila kuti ŵandu ŵa musi wa Efeso wu, ni ŵakujilindilila nyuumba ja nnungu Atemi, ni ŵakuligosa liganga lyeswela lilyagwile kutyochela kwinani lila.
And the chief of the city stilled them, saying, Men, Ephesoyee, who is there of mankind who knoweth not that the city of the Ephesoyee is a votaress of the great Artemis, and of her image which descended from heaven?
36 Ngapagwa jwalijose jwakukombola kukanila yeleyo. Nipele mmyalalanje, nkatenda chachili chose kwakwanguya.
Therefore, since no man can contradict this, it behoves you to be silent, and to do nothing in haste.
37 Mwaŵilasile ŵandu ŵa pelepa namuno nganajinyelusya nyuumba ja nnungu pane kuntukana nnungu jwetu jwankongwe.
Yet have you brought these men who have neither spoiled temples nor blasphemed our goddess.
38 Nipele, iŵaga che Demetilio ni ŵamasengo ŵao akwete magambo gao nkati ŵandu ŵa, mikungulu jipali ni achakulu ŵa ilambo nombe nawo apali, akukombola kuŵechetelana kweleko.
But if this Dimitrios and the sons of his craft have strife with any man, behold, the proconsul is in the city, (and) there are officers: let them go nigh and judge one with another.
39 Nambo iŵaga kwana magambo gane njausye ku nkungulu waukukundikwa.
And if you require other (procedure), in the place which is given by the law for an assembly it shall be resolved.
40 Pakuŵa akakombwele kutuŵechetela ligongo lya kutindiganya kwatukutesile lelo jino. Kutindiganya ku nganilipagwa ligongo ni sooni ngatukombola kusala ligongo lya kutenda nkungulu wu.”
For now also are we standing in peril of being accused as disturbers, because we cannot make excuse for the concourse of this day, inasmuch as we have met uselessly, and have made a tumult without cause.
41 Paŵamasile kuŵecheta yeleyo, ŵamwasisye ŵandu ŵaŵasongangene wo.
And when these he had said, he dissolved the assembly.
