1 Une chilongola jwankulu, ngunnembela alakwe che Gayo mbusanga jwangu jungunnonyela kwa usyenesyene.
The Elder vnto the beloued Gaius, whom I loue in the trueth.
2 Ambusanga ŵangu, ngumpopelela kwa Akunnungu kuti nsichile mu yose ni kukola umi wambone malinga ni yajikuti kusichila mbumu jenu.
Beloued, I wish chiefly that thou prosperedst and faredst well as thy soule prospereth.
3 Nasengwile nnope paŵaiche achalongo achinjetu ni kuuŵalanga umboni nkati chikulupilichiko chenu mu usyene ni inkuti kuendelechela kutama kwa kuukuya usyene.
For I reioyced greatly when the brethren came, and testified of the trueth that is in thee, how thou walkest in the trueth.
4 Ngapagwa chachikusengwasya une kwannope kupunda kupikana kuti achiŵanangu akutama kwa kuukuya usyene.
I haue no greater ioy then these, that is, to heare that my sonnes walke in veritie.
5 Mbusanga jwangu, mmwe nli jwakukulupilichika mu yose inkwapanganyichisya achalongo achinjetu, nnopennope kwa achalendo.
Beloued, thou doest faithfully, whatsoeuer thou doest to the brethren, and to strangers,
6 Achalongo wo ŵauŵalasile umboni kwa mpingo wa ŵandu ŵakunkulupilila Kilisito nkati unonyelo wenu. Choonde mwakamuchisye apunde kwaula mmbujo mu ulendo wao, kwa litala lyalikwanonyelesya Akunnungu.
Which bare witnesse of thy loue before the Churches. Whom if thou bringest on their iourney as it beseemeth according to God, thou shalt doe well,
7 Pakuŵa akuutanda ulendo wao wakwatumichila Kilisito, ni nganasaka kupochela ukamuchisyo wauliwose kutyochela kwa ŵandu ŵangakunkulupilila Kilisito.
Because that for his Names sake they went forth, and tooke nothing of the Gentiles.
8 Uweji ŵatukunkulupilila Kilisito tukusachilwa kwakamusya ŵandu mpela aŵa, kuti nowe tupanganye masengo pamo nawo kwa ligongo lya kuulalichila usyene.
We therefore ought to receiue such, that we might be helpers to the trueth.
9 Nalembile chikalata chachijipi kwa mpingo wa ŵandu ŵakunkulupilila Kilisito ŵa kweleko nambo che Diyotelefe jwakusaka aŵe chilongola ŵao ngakusaka kumbilikanila.
I wrote vnto the Church: but Diotrephes which loueth to haue the preeminence among them, receiueth vs not.
10 Nipele pachinjiika chinjiiumbukulanya yose yaitesile, aila yangalumbana yakutuŵechetela uwe ni unami wakwe. Kupunda yeleyo akukananga kwapochela achalongo ŵali mu ulendo, ni kwasiŵila ŵane ŵakusaka kwapochela ni kwatopola mu mpingo wa ŵandu ŵakunkulupilila Kilisito.
Wherefore if I come, I will call to your remembrance his deedes which he doeth, pratling against vs with malicious wordes, and not therewith content, neither he himselfe receiueth the brethren, but forbiddeth them that woulde, and thrusteth them out of the Church.
11 Ambusanga ŵangu nkaisyasya yangalumbana, nambo nsyasye yaili yambone. Mundu jwalijose jwakutendekanya yambone ali jwa Akunnungu, nambo mundu jwalijose jwakutendekanya yangalumbana ngakwamanyilila Akunnungu.
Beloued, follow not that which is euill, but that which is good: he that doeth well, is of God: but he that doeth euill, hath not seene God.
12 Ŵandu wose akwakunguluchila yambone che Demetilio, ni usyene nombe ukwaŵalanjila umboni. Noweji tukukunguluka yambone nkati ŵelewo, nomwe nkwimanyilila kuti tukuŵecheta usyene.
Demetrius hath good report of al men, and of the trueth it selfe: yea, and wee our selues beare recorde, and ye know that our record is true.
13 Ngwete yejinji yakunsalila, nambo ngangusaka kunlembela mu chikalata.
I haue many things to write: but I will not with yncke and pen write vnto thee:
14 Ngulolela kuti chituwonegane pangakaŵa ni kukunguluka ni ŵanyamwe tuchiloleganaga. Ngunsachila mme ni chitendewele. Achambusanga ŵenu akunkomasya. Nipele mwakomasye achambusanga ŵetu wose ŵaali kweleko jumo jumo.
For I trust I shall shortly see thee, and we shall speake mouth to mouth. Peace be with thee. The friends salute thee. Greete the friends by name.
