1 Une che Paolo nduna jwa Kilisito Yesu, kwa kusaka Akunnungu uŵasagwile une kuti nyenesye chilanga cha umi watulinawo nkulumbikana ni Kilisito Yesu.
Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, according to the promise of life which is in Christ Jesus,
2 Ngunnembela mmwe che Timoseo mwanangu jwaunonyelo. Ngunsachila umbone ni chanasa ni chitendewele kutyochela kwa Akunnungu Atati ni kwa Ambuje ŵetu Kilisito Yesu.
To Timothy, [my] dearly beloved son: Grace, mercy, [and] peace, from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.
3 Ngwatogolela Akunnungu ungwatumichila kwa ntima waukuunosya kuti jwangali chileŵo mpela iŵatite achambuje ŵetu, ngwatogolela Akunnungu kila pangunkumbuchila mmapopelo gangu muusi ni chilo.
I thank God, whom I serve from [my] forefathers with pure conscience, that without ceasing I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day;
4 Ngujikumbuchila misosi jenu, ngulajila kwannope kummona kuti ng'umbaswe lukondwa.
Greatly desiring to see thee, being mindful of thy tears, that I may be filled with joy;
5 Nguchikumbuchila chikulupi chisyenesyene chachili mwenumwe, chikulupi chakwete anganga ŵenu che Loisi ni iyoyopeyo achikulu ŵenu che Eunike. Isyene nguimanyilila kuti nomwe nkwete.
When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also.

For which cause I put thee in remembrance, that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the imposition of my hands.
7 Pakuŵa Mbumu jwatupele Akunnungu ngaŵa jwakututenda tuŵe ŵakogopa, ngwamba, nambo ali Mbumu jwao jwakutupa machili ni unonyelo ni ntima wa kulisiŵila.
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
8 Ngasinkola soni nkwasalila ŵandu ŵane umboni wa ngani sya Ambuje ŵetu atamuno nkakola soni kwanguune jwandaŵikwe kwa ligongo lyao. Nambo mme pamo none nkulaga kwa ligongo lya Ngani Jambone malinga ni machili gampegwilwe ni Akunnungu.
Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;
9 Ŵelewo ŵatukulupwisye ni kutuŵilanga kuti tuŵe ŵandu ŵakwe, ngaŵa kwa isambo yetu yambone itwaitesile, nambo kwa ligongo lya kusaka kwao asyene ni kwa umbone wao. Ni ŵatupele umbone wao kwa litala lya Kilisito Yesu chitandilile moŵa gose pangali mbesi. (aiōnios g166)
Who hath saved us, and called [us] with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus before the world began; (aiōnios g166)
10 Nambo sambano umbone wa Akunnungu uwunukulikwe kwa kwika kwakwe Nkulupusyo jwetu, Kilisito Yesu. Ŵelewo agapundile machili ga chiwa ni kwa litala lya Ngani Jambone atuwunukulile umi wa moŵa gose pangali mbesi.
But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:
11 Kwayele une nasagulikwe ni Akunnungu kuti me nduna ni jwakwiganya kwa ligongo lya kwalalichila ŵandu Ngani Jambone.
To which I am appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles.
12 Kwa ligongo lya yele ngusauka ni indu yi. Nambo ngangujogopa kwa ligongo lya yele pakuŵa ngwamanyilila ŵelewo unakulupilile ni ngumanyilila kusyene kuti akukombola kuchigosa achila chiŵambele mpaka lyuŵa lichauje.
For which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed to him against that day.
13 Mgakamulichisye majiganyo ga usyenesyene gananjiganyisye, mu chikulupi ni unonyelo wauli nkulumbikana ni Kilisito Yesu.
Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard from me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.
14 Mchigose yambone chimpegwile kwa ukamuchisyo wa Mbumu jwa Akunnungu jwakutama mwetuwe.
That good thing which was committed to thee keep by the Holy Spirit which dwelleth in us.
15 Mpela inkuti pakuimanyilila kuti ŵandu achajinji wa kuchilambo cha Asia anesile, mwa ŵele apali che Fugelo ni che Helimogene.
This thou knowest, that all they who are in Asia are turned away from me; of whom are Phygellus and Hermogenes.
16 Ambuje ŵatendele chanasa ŵandu ŵa pannango u che Onesifolo, pakuŵa ŵausengwasisye ntima wangu katema kakajinji kwa kwika kukumona. Ni nganijatenda soni kwa chitaŵiko changu.
The Lord give mercy to the house of Onesiphorus; for he often refreshed me, and was not ashamed of my chain:
17 Katema paŵaiche ku Loma ŵatandite kusosasosa kwannope mpaka ŵasimene.
But, when he was in Rome, he sought me out very diligently, and found [me].
18 Ngwachondelela Ambuje ŵatendele chanasa che Onesifolo pa lyuŵa lya kulamulikwa! Nomwe nkuimanyilila yambone iŵandendele une ku Efeso kula.
The Lord grant to him that he may find mercy from the Lord in that day: and in how many things he ministered to me at Ephesus, thou knowest very well.
