1 Ŵasesalonike 5
1 Nambo achalongo achinjangu, ngapagwa ligongo lya kunnembela ngani jankati saa ni ndema pachiikopochele yeleyo.
But of the times and the seasons, brethren, all of you have no need that I write unto you.
2 Pakuŵa mwachinsyene nkumanyilila kuti lyuŵa lya kuuja Ambuje likwika chisisimuchile mpela jwawiyi yakuti pakwika chilo.
For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night.
3 Ŵandu pachaŵechete, “Indu yose itulele ni kwana chitendewele,” papopo wonasi ukwaichilila mpela chilungusi cha kuligopola chachikunsimana jwankongwe jwakwete chitumbo, namose ŵandu wose ngaakombola kuŵambala.
For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction comes upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
4 Nambo ŵanyamwe, achalongo achinjangu nganimma mchipi, namose lyuŵa lyo linnyichilile chisisimuchile mpela yakuti pakwika jwawiyi.
But all of you, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
5 Ŵanyamwe wose ndi ŵandu ŵankutamanga mu lilanguka, ni ŵandu ŵa muusi. Uweji nganituŵa ŵandu ŵa chilo atamuno ŵa chipi.
All of you are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
6 Nipele tukagona mpela ŵane wo, nambo tuchesye ni kulilongosya twachinsyene.
Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.
7 Pakuŵa ŵandu ŵakugona ŵala, akugona chilo ni ŵandu ŵakukolelwa, akukolelwa chilo.
For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.
8 Nambo uwe tuli ŵandu ŵa muusi, tukusachilwa kulilongosya twachinsyene. Tukusachilwa kukamulangana ni chikulupi ni unonyelo mpela chakuwala cha chisyano cha kulichinga pantima, ni chilolelo chetu cha ukulupusyo nti chisoti cha chisyano chakulichinga mu ntwe.
But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; (agape) and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
9 Pakuŵa Akunnungu nganatuŵika tujonasiche kwa lutumbilo lwao, nambo kuti tukulupuswe kwa litala lya Ambuje ŵetu Che Yesu Kilisito,
For God has not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
10 juŵawile kwa ligongo lyetu kuti namose twaŵaga ŵajumi pane tujasiche tukombole kutama nawo pachauje.
Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.
11 Nipele ntusyane ntima jwine ni jwine ni kulimbisyana jwine ni jwine mpela inkutenda sambano.
Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also all of you do.
12 Achalongo achinjetu, tukunchondelela, mwachimbichisye ŵelewo ŵakupanganya masengo pasikati jenu ni ŵakunnongosya ni ŵakunjiganya mu utame wa kunkulupilila Kilisito.
And we plead to you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you;
13 Mwachimbichisye nnope ni kwanonyela kwa liwamba lya masengo gaakupanganya. Ntameje mu chitendewele pasikati jenu.
And to esteem them very highly in love (agape) for their work's sake. And be at peace among yourselves.
14 Achalongo achinjetu, tukunchondelela, mwajamuche ŵandu ŵaali ni ulesi, mwakamulisye ntima ŵaali ni lipamba, mwakamuchisye ŵakulepetala, mwapililile ŵandu wose.
Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.
15 Nlilolechesye mwachinsyene kuti akasauchisya mundu chakusakala ku chakusakala, nambo moŵa gose ntendelane yaili yambone kwa jwine ni jwine ni kwa ŵandu wose.
See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.
16 Nsangalale moŵa gose,
Rejoice evermore.
17 mwapopelele Akunnungu pangapela,
Pray without ceasing.
18 mwatogolele Akunnungu mu yose yaikutyochela pakuŵa yeleyo ni yakuti pakusaka Akunnungu kukwenu ŵanlumbikene ni Che Yesu Kilisito.
In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
19 Nkausima mooto wa Mbumu jwa Akunnungu,
Quench not the Spirit. (pneuma)
20 nkaupwanya utenga waukutyochela kwa Akunnungu.
Despise not prophesyings.
21 Nsosesose yose ni kukamulisya chachili chambone,
Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
22 nchiŵambale chachilichose chachikuwoneka changalumbana.
Abstain from all appearance of evil.
23 Akunnungu asyene ŵakutupa chitendewele answejesye mose, mu mbumu syenu ni mitima jenu ni mu iilu yenu, yele yose ikasimanikwa ni ileŵo kukwenu katema kakwika Ambuje ŵetu Che Yesu Kilisito.
And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit (pneuma) and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
24 Akunnungu ŵammilasile ŵanyamwe chaitendekanye yeleyo pakuŵa ŵelewo ali ŵakulupilichika.
Faithful is he that calls you, who also will do it.
25 Achalongo achinjetu, ntupopeleleje.
Brethren, pray for us.
26 Mwakomasye achalongo wose kwa kwalosya kuti nkwanonyela.
Greet all the brethren with an holy kiss.
27 Ngunnajisya mu liina lya Ambuje kuti mwasyomele chikalata chi ŵandu wose ŵakunkulupilila Kilisito.
I charge you by the Lord that this epistle be read unto all the holy brethren.
28 Tukunsachilanga umbone wa Ambuje ŵetu Che Yesu Kilisito.
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.
