If in the tongues of men I shall speak and of angels, love however not may have, I have become a brass sounding or a cymbal clanging.
2 Namose nakolaga ntuuka wa kulalichila utenga wa Akunnungu ni kwimanyilila yantemela yose ni kumanyilila kila chindu, namose ngakwete chikulupi chakomboleka kuchityosya chitumbi, naga nganingola unonyelo, une ngaŵa chindu.
And if I shall have prophecy and understand the mysteries all and all the knowledge, And if I shall have all the faith so as mountains to remove, love however not may have, no [thing] I am.
3 Namose natyosyaga ipanje yangu yose ni kwalisya ŵakulaga, namuno nachityosyaga chiilu changu chitiniche pa mooto, naga nganingola unonyelo ngamboka kwakulikose.
Even if Even if I shall give away all the possessions of mine, And if I shall deliver up the body of mine that (I may boast, *N(K)(o)*) love however not may have, no [thing] I am profited.
4 Mundu jwaali ni unonyelo akupililila, ni akusalala ntima, ni ngakukola wiu, ni ngakulifuna, ni ngakulikwesya.
Love is patient, is kind, love not is envious, love not is boastful, not is puffed up,
5 Mundu jwaali ni unonyelo akwachimbichisya ŵandu ŵane, ni ngakulisosela kupoka kwakwe nsyene, ni ngakutumbila kwachitema, ni ngakukumbuchila yangalumbana.
not acts unbecomingly, not seeks the [things] of its own, not is easily provoked, not it keeps account of wrongs,
6 Mundu jwaali ni unonyelo ngakuchinilila chigongomalo nambo akuuchinilila usyene.
not delights at unrighteousness, rejoices however in the truth,
7 Mundu jwaali ni unonyelo moŵa gose ngakupwa ntima, ni moŵa gose akukulupilila, ni moŵa gose akulolela pangali kupela ni akuipililila indu yose.
All things it bears, all things believes, all things hopes, all things endures.
8 Unonyelo wangali mbesi. Iŵaga kwana ntuuka wa kulondola tiuiche mbesi, iŵaga kwana ntuuka wa iŵecheto ineine, yeleyo chiimale, pane iŵaga kwana kulijiganya ni kumanyilila indu chikupite.
Love never (falls. *N(k)O*) if however [there are] prophesies, they will be abated; if tongues, they will cease; if knowledge it will be abated.
9 Pakuŵa kulijiganya kwetu ni kwimanyilila indu kuli kwangamalilwa, iyoyo kulalichila kwetu utenga kutyochela kwa Akunnungu kuli kwangamalilwa.
In part (for *NK(o)*) we know and in part we prophesy;
10 Nambo Akunnungu chaitende yose iŵe yemalilwe, ni indu yangamalilwa yose chiityochekwe.
when however may come the perfect, (then *K*) the in part will be done away.
11 Panaliji mwanache jwannandi, naŵechete chiwanache, naimanyi chiwanache, ni naganisisye chiwanache, nambo pangusile indu yachanache yose nesile.
When I was a child, I was speaking like a child, I was thinking like a child, I was reasoning like a child; when (now *k*) I became a man, I have done away with the [things] of the child.
12 Pakuŵa sambano tukulola mpela usyo wangaloleka yambone mlindala, nambo katema ko chitulolegane usyo kwa usyo. Sambano nguimanyilila panondi, nambo katema ko tinaimanye yose kwauchenene mpela Akunnungu yakuti pakumanyilila une kwauchenene.
We see for presently through a glass in obscurity, then however face to face; presently I know in part, then however I will know fully even as also I have been fully known.
13 Nipele, sambano indu itatu yi ni ichitame, chikulupi ni chilolelo ni unonyelo, nambo chindu chachili chechikulungwa kupunda yose, uli unonyelo.
