1 Ŵakolinto 10
1 Achinjangu ngusaka mmanyilile yakuti, achatati ŵetu ŵaliji wose paasi liunde, ni wose ŵajombweche salama Bahali ja Shamu.
Now I would not have you ignorant, brothers, that our fathers were all under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;
2 Wose ŵabatiswe mu liunde ni mu bahali, kuti alumbikane ni che Musa.
and were all baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea;
3 Wose ŵalile chakulya chilachila cha mbumu.
and all ate the same spiritual food;
4 Iyoyo wose ŵang'wele chakung'wa chilachila cha mbumu, pakuŵa ŵang'wele meesi gagatyochele mu lwala lwa mbumu luŵalukuiye, lwala lula lwaliji Kilisito nsyene.
and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of a spiritual rock that followed them, and the rock was Christ.
5 Nambo achajinji nnope mu wele mpingo wo, Akunnungu ngananonyelwa nawo, kwapele ŵawile ni iilu yao yajenele mwipululu.
However with most of them, God was not well pleased, for they were overthrown in the wilderness.
6 Kwapele indu yo yose yatyochele kutujamuka uwe tukaŵa ŵandu ŵakulajila yangalumbana mpela ŵanyawo iŵatite pakulajila.
Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.
7 Ngasinnyipopelela inyago mpela ŵane iŵatite kutenda, mpela itite pakulembekwa Mmalembelo ga Akunnungu, “Ŵandu ŵatemi kulya ni kung'wa, nipele ŵajimi ni kutyala kwa kupunilana.”
Neither be idolaters, as some of them were. As it is written, "The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play."
8 Tukatenda chigwagwa mpela ŵane mwa ŵanyawo iŵatite pakupanganya, pa lyuŵa limo ŵajasiche ŵandu elufu ishilini na tatu.
Neither let us commit sexual immorality, as some of them committed, and in one day twenty-three thousand fell.
9 Tukaalinga Kilisito mpela ŵane mwa ŵanyawo iŵalinjile, wose ŵajasiche kwa kulumikwa ni majoka.
Neither let us test the Christ, as some of them tested, and perished by the serpents.
10 Ngasinnyinyita mpela ŵane mwa ŵanyawo iŵatite kunyinyita, ŵaulajikwe ni katumetume jwa kwinani jwakuichisya chiwa.
Neither grumble, as some of them also grumbled, and perished by the destroyer.
11 Yeleyo yose yaagwilile ŵanyawo kuti uŵe tujiganyikwe, yalembekwe kutujamuka uweji ŵatuli mmoŵa gaambesi. (aiōn g165)
Now these things happened to them by way of example, and they were written for our admonition, on whom the ends of the ages have come. (aiōn g165)
12 Kwapele mundu jwakuliganisya kuti ajimi kwakulimbila alilolechesye anaiche kugwa.
Therefore let him who thinks he stands be careful that he does not fall.
13 Kulinjikwa kunkulinjikwa kuli kwa kawaida kwapata ŵandu. Akunnungu ali ŵakukulupilichika, nombewo ngasanneka nlinjikwe kupunda ukombole wenu. Nambo pankulinjikwa, ŵelewo champe machili ga kupililila ni litala lya kukopochela.
No temptation has taken you except what is common to humanity. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
14 Kwaligongo lyo achalongo achinjangu ŵakunonyelwa ntame kwakutalichila kuipopelela inyago.
Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry.
15 Nguŵecheta ni ŵanyamwe ŵandu ŵaali ni umanyilisi, muiganisyeje ingunsalila yi.
I speak as to wise people. Judge what I say.
16 Chikombe chitukuchitumia pa chakulya cha Ambuje ni chitukwatogolela Ambuje, tukulumbikana ni miasi ja Kilisito. Patukulya nkate, tukulumbikana ni chiilu cha Kilisito.
The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not a sharing of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not a sharing of the body of Christ?
17 Pakuŵa nkate uli umo, namuno tuli ŵajinji, tuli chiilu chimo, pakutipala wose tukugaŵana nkate umo pewo.
Because there is one loaf of bread, we, who are many, are one body; for we all partake of the one loaf of bread.
18 Nchilole achila chakuchipanganya ŵandu ŵa ku Isilaeli, ŵelewo ŵakulya mbopesi sya pa chilisa, akukamulangana pamo kutyosya mbopesi syo kwa Akunnungu.
Consider Israel according to the flesh. Do not those who eat the sacrifices participate in the altar?
19 Ana nyile uli? Chakulya chachitajikwe mbopesi kwa inyago, chikwete malumbo? Pane chinyago chikwete malumbo?
What am I saying then? That a thing sacrificed to idols is anything, or that an idol is anything?
20 Ngwamba! Chingusaka kusala chili chelechi: Mbopesi sya ŵandu ŵangakwamanyilila Akunnungu akusityosya kwa masoka ni ngaŵa kwa Akunnungu. Noneji ngangusaka ŵanyamwe nlumbikane ni masoka.
But I say that the things which pagans sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons, and not to God, and I do not desire that you would have fellowship with demons.
21 Ngankombola kuching'welela chikombe cha Ambuje akuno nkung'welela chikombe cha masoka. Ngankombola kulya chakulya cha Ambuje ni papopo nkulya chakulya cha masoka.
You cannot both drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You cannot both partake of the table of the Lord, and of the table of demons.
22 Ana tukusaka kwatendekasya Ambuje akole wiu? Ana tukuganisya tukwete machili nnope kwapunda ŵelewo?
Or do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than he?
23 Ŵandu ŵane akuti, “Indu yose ngaikukanywa,” nambo une nguti, ngaŵa yose pe yaikuŵajila. Ni ŵandu ŵane akuti, “Indu yose ngaikukanywa,” nambo une nguti, ngaŵa yose pe yaikukamuchisya.
"All things are lawful," but not all things are profitable. "All things are lawful," but not all things build up.
24 Mundu jwalijose mwa ŵanyamwe akalisosela kupoka kwakwe nsyene pe, nambo asoseje ni kupoka kwa achinjakwe.
Let no one seek his own, but his neighbor's good.
25 Yose yaikusumikwa pakusumichisya malonda nlyeje pangausya, kwa liwamba lya miningwa jenu.
Whatever is sold in the butcher shop, eat, asking no question for the sake of conscience,
26 Pakuŵa Malembelo ga Akunnungu gakuti, “Chilambo chili chao Ambuje ni yose yaili mwelemo ili yakwe.”
for "the earth is the Lord's, and its fullness."
27 Naga mundu jwangakunkulupilila Kilisito annaliche pa chakulya, ni ŵanyamwe nkusaka kwaula, nlyeje yaili yose ichammichile pangausyausya kwa liwamba lya miningwa jenu.
But if one of those who do not believe invites you to a meal, and you are inclined to go, eat whatever is set before you, asking no questions for the sake of conscience.
28 Nambo ansalilaga mundu, “Chakulya chi chetaje mbopesi kwa inyago,” nkalya, kwaligongo lya mundu jwammanyisye ni kwa liwamba lya miningwa,
But if anyone says to you, "This was offered to idols," do not eat it for the sake of the one who told you, and for the sake of conscience.
29 nguti, kwa liwamba lya miningwa, nambo ngaŵa miningwa jenu nambo nningwa wa ajula jwammanyisye. “Kwa chichi kulechelelwa kwangu une kulamulikwe ni nningwa wa mundu jwine?
Conscience, I say, not your own, but the other's conscience. For why is my liberty judged by another conscience?
30 Iŵaga une ngwatogolela Akunnungu kwa chakulya chingulya, kwa chichi mundu alalatile une kwa ligongo lya chakulya chinaatogolele Akunnungu?”
If I partake with thankfulness, why am I denounced for that for which I give thanks?
31 Nipele, pankutenda chachilichose iŵeje kulya namuno kung'wa mwitendekanye yose kwaligongo lya ukulu wa Akunnungu.
Whether therefore you eat, or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.
32 Nkasamwakuŵasya Ŵayahudi atamuno Ŵagiliki atamuno mpingo wa Akunnungu, wa ŵandu ŵakunkulupilila Kilisito.
Give no occasions for stumbling, either to Jews, or to Greeks, or to the church of God;
33 Mmeje mpela une, ngusaka kwanonyelesya ŵandu wose mu indu yose inguipanganya. Pakuŵa ngangulisosela kupoka kwangu nansyene, nambo ngwasosela ŵandu kupoka kuti akulupuswe.
even as I also please all people in all things, not seeking my own profit, but the profit of the many, that they may be saved.
