箴言 10
1 所羅門的箴言： 智慧之子使父親歡樂； 愚昧之子叫母親擔憂。
Proverbs of Solomon. A wise son causes a father to rejoice, And a foolish son [is] an affliction to his mother.
2 不義之財毫無益處； 惟有公義能救人脫離死亡。
Treasures of wickedness do not profit, And righteousness delivers from death.
3 耶和華不使義人受飢餓； 惡人所欲的，他必推開。
YHWH does not cause the soul of the righteous to hunger, And He thrusts away the desire of the wicked.
4 手懶的，要受貧窮； 手勤的，卻要富足。
Poor [is] he who is working [with] a slothful hand, And the hand of the diligent makes rich.
5 夏天聚斂的，是智慧之子； 收割時沉睡的，是貽羞之子。
Whoever is gathering in summer [is] a wise son, Whoever is sleeping in harvest [is] a son causing shame.
6 福祉臨到義人的頭； 強暴蒙蔽惡人的口。
Blessings [are] for the head of the righteous, And the mouth of the wicked covers violence.
7 義人的紀念被稱讚； 惡人的名字必朽爛。
The remembrance of the righteous [is] for a blessing, And the name of the wicked rots.
8 心中智慧的，必受命令； 口裏愚妄的，必致傾倒。
The wise in heart accepts commands, And a talkative fool kicks.
9 行正直路的，步步安穩； 走彎曲道的，必致敗露。
Whoever is walking in integrity walks confidently, And whoever is perverting his ways is known.
10 以眼傳神的，使人憂患； 口裏愚妄的，必致傾倒。
Whoever is winking the eye gives grief, And a talkative fool kicks.
11 義人的口是生命的泉源； 強暴蒙蔽惡人的口。
A fountain of life [is] the mouth of the righteous, And the mouth of the wicked covers violence.
12 恨能挑啟爭端； 愛能遮掩一切過錯。
Hatred awakens contentions, And love covers over all transgressions.
13 明哲人嘴裏有智慧； 無知人背上受刑杖。
Wisdom is found in the lips of the intelligent, And a rod [is] for the back of him who is lacking understanding.
14 智慧人積存知識； 愚妄人的口速致敗壞。
The wise lay up knowledge, and the mouth of a fool [is] near ruin.
15 富戶的財物是他的堅城； 窮人的貧乏是他的敗壞。
The wealth of the rich [is] his strong city, The ruin of the poor [is] their poverty.
16 義人的勤勞致生； 惡人的進項致死。
The wage of the righteous [is] for life, The increase of the wicked for sin.
17 謹守訓誨的，乃在生命的道上； 違棄責備的，便失迷了路。
A traveler to life [is] he who is keeping instruction, And whoever is forsaking rebuke is erring.
18 隱藏怨恨的，有說謊的嘴； 口出讒謗的，是愚妄的人。
Whoever is covering hatred with lying lips, And whoever is bringing out an evil report is a fool.
19 多言多語難免有過； 禁止嘴唇是有智慧。
In the abundance of words transgression does not cease, And whoever is restraining his lips [is] wise.
20 義人的舌乃似高銀； 惡人的心所值無幾。
The tongue of the righteous [is] chosen silver, The heart of the wicked—as a little thing.
21 義人的口教養多人； 愚昧人因無知而死亡。
The lips of the righteous delight many, And fools die for lack of heart.
22 耶和華所賜的福使人富足， 並不加上憂慮。
The blessing of YHWH—it makes rich, And He adds no grief with it.
23 愚妄人以行惡為戲耍； 明哲人卻以智慧為樂。
To execute inventions [is] as play to a fool, And wisdom to a man of understanding.
24 惡人所怕的，必臨到他； 義人所願的，必蒙應允。
The feared thing of the wicked meets him, And the desire of the righteous is given.
25 暴風一過，惡人歸於無有； 義人的根基卻是永久。
As the passing by of a windstorm, So the wicked is not, And the righteous is a perpetual foundation.
26 懶惰人叫差他的人 如醋倒牙，如煙薰目。
As vinegar to the teeth, And as smoke to the eyes, So [is] the slothful to those sending him.
27 敬畏耶和華使人日子加多； 但惡人的年歲必被減少。
The fear of YHWH adds days, And the years of the wicked are shortened.
28 義人的盼望必得喜樂； 惡人的指望必致滅沒。
The hope of the righteous [is] joyful, And the expectation of the wicked perishes.
29 耶和華的道是正直人的保障， 卻成了作孽人的敗壞。
The way of YHWH [is] strength to the perfect, And ruin to workers of iniquity.
30 義人永不挪移； 惡人不得住在地上。
The righteous is not moved for all time, And the wicked do not inhabit the earth.
31 義人的口滋生智慧； 乖謬的舌必被割斷。
The mouth of the righteous utters wisdom, And the tongue of contrariness is cut out.
32 義人的嘴能令人喜悅； 惡人的口說乖謬的話。
The lips of the righteous know a pleasing thing, And the mouth of the wicked perverseness!
