馬太福音 1
1 亞伯拉罕的後裔，大衛的子孫，耶穌基督的家譜：
A record of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.
2 亞伯拉罕生以撒；以撒生雅各；雅各生猶大和他的弟兄；
Abraham was the father of Isaac, and Isaac the father of Jacob, and Jacob the father of Judah and his brothers,
3 猶大從她瑪氏生法勒斯和謝拉；法勒斯生希斯崙；希斯崙生亞蘭；
and Judah was the father of Perez and Zerah by Tamar, and Perez was the father of Hezron, and Hezron the father of Ram,
4 亞蘭生亞米拿達；亞米拿達生拿順；拿順生撒門；
and Ram the father of Amminadab, and Amminadab the father of Nahshon, and Nahshon the father of Salmon,
5 撒門從喇合氏生波阿斯；波阿斯從路得氏生俄備得；俄備得生耶西；
and Salmon the father of Boaz by Rahab, and Boaz was the father of Obed by Ruth, and Obed was the father of Jesse,
6 耶西生大衛王。 大衛從烏利亞的妻子生所羅門；
and Jesse the father of David the king. And David was the father of Solomon by her who had been the wife of Uriah;
7 所羅門生羅波安；羅波安生亞比雅；亞比雅生亞撒；
and Solomon was the father of Rehoboam, and Rehoboam the father of Abijah, and Abijah the father of Asa;
8 亞撒生約沙法；約沙法生約蘭；約蘭生烏西雅；
and Asa the father of Jehoshaphat, and Jehoshaphat the father of Joram, and Joram the father of Uzziah,
9 烏西雅生約坦；約坦生亞哈斯；亞哈斯生希西家；
and Uzziah the father of Jotham, and Jotham the father of Ahaz, and Ahaz the father of Hezekiah;
10 希西家生瑪拿西；瑪拿西生亞們；亞們生約西亞；
and Hezekiah the father of Manasseh, and Manasseh the father of Amon, and Amon the father of Josiah,
11 百姓被遷到巴比倫的時候，約西亞生耶哥尼雅和他的弟兄。
and Josiah the father of Jechoniah and his brothers, at the time of the exile to Babylon.
12 遷到巴比倫之後，耶哥尼雅生撒拉鐵；撒拉鐵生所羅巴伯；
And after the exile to Babylon, Jechoniah was the father of Shealtiel, and Shealtiel the father of Zerubbabel,
13 所羅巴伯生亞比玉；亞比玉生以利亞敬；以利亞敬生亞所；
and Zerubbabel the father of Abihud, and Abihud the father of Eliakim, and Eliakim the father of Azzur,
14 亞所生撒督；撒督生亞金；亞金生以律；
and Azzur the father of Zadok, and Zadok the father of Ahiam, and Ahiam the father of Elihud,
15 以律生以利亞撒；以利亞撒生馬但；馬但生雅各；
and Elihud the father of Eleazar, and Eleazar the father of Matthan, and Matthan the father of Jacob,
16 雅各生約瑟，就是馬利亞的丈夫。那稱為基督的耶穌是從馬利亞生的。
and Jacob the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary, from whom was born Jesus, who is called the Christ.
17 這樣，從亞伯拉罕到大衛共有十四代；從大衛到遷至巴比倫的時候也有十四代；從遷至巴比倫的時候到基督又有十四代。
So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David to the exile to Babylon fourteen generations; and from the exile to Babylon to the Christ, fourteen generations.
18 耶穌基督降生的事記在下面：他母親馬利亞已經許配了約瑟，還沒有迎娶，馬利亞就從聖靈懷了孕。
Now the birth of Jesus Christ happened like this. His mother Mary had been engaged to Joseph, and before they came together, she was found to be with child from the Holy Spirit.
19 她丈夫約瑟是個義人，不願意明明地羞辱她，想要暗暗地把她休了。
And Joseph, her husband, being a righteous man, and not willing to make her a public example, intended to put her away secretly.
20 正思念這事的時候，有主的使者向他夢中顯現，說：「大衛的子孫約瑟，不要怕！只管娶過你的妻子馬利亞來，因她所懷的孕是從聖靈來的。
But when he thought about these things, look, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, "Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to yourself Mary, your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.
21 她將要生一個兒子，你要給他起名叫耶穌，因他要將自己的百姓從罪惡裏救出來。」
And she will bring forth a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins."
22 這一切的事成就是要應驗主藉先知所說的話，
Now all this has happened, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying,
23 說： 必有童女懷孕生子； 人要稱他的名為以馬內利。 （以馬內利翻出來就是「上帝與我們同在」。）
"Look, the virgin will conceive and bear a son, and they will call his name Immanuel;" which is translated, "God with us."
24 約瑟醒了，起來，就遵着主使者的吩咐把妻子娶過來；
And Joseph arose from his sleep, and did as the angel of the Lord commanded him, and took his wife to himself;
25 只是沒有和她同房，等她生了兒子，就給他起名叫耶穌。
and had no marital relations with her until she had brought forth a son; and he named him Jesus.
