以賽亞書 8
1 耶和華對我說：「你取一個大牌，拿人所用的筆，寫上『瑪黑珥‧沙拉勒‧哈施‧罷斯』。
And the Lord said unto me, Take thyself a large table, and write on it with distinct letters, Lemaher-shalal-chash-bas.
2 我要用誠實的見證人，祭司烏利亞和耶比利家的兒子撒迦利亞記錄這事。」
And I was to summon for myself trustworthy witnesses, Uriyah the priest, and Zecharyahu the son of Yeberechyahu.
3 我－以賽亞與妻子同室；她懷孕生子，耶和華就對我說：「給他起名叫瑪黑珥‧沙拉勒‧哈施‧罷斯；
And I came near unto the prophetess; and she conceived, and bore a son. Then said the Lord to me, Call his name Maher-shalal-chash-bas.
4 因為在這小孩子不曉得叫父叫母之先，大馬士革的財寶和撒馬利亞的擄物必在亞述王面前搬了去。」
For before yet the boy shall know to call, My father, and my mother, the wealth of Damascus and the spoil of Samaria shall be carried away before the king of Assyria.
5 耶和華又曉諭我說：
And the Lord continued to speak unto me again, saying,
6 「這百姓既厭棄西羅亞緩流的水，喜悅利汛和利瑪利的兒子；
Forasmuch as this people despiseth the waters of Shiloach that flow softly, and rejoice in Rezin and Remalyahu's son:
7 因此，主必使大河翻騰的水猛然沖來，就是亞述王和他所有的威勢，必漫過一切的水道，漲過兩岸；
Yea therefore behold, the Lord bringeth up over them the strong and many waters of the river, —the king of Assyria, and all his glory; and he shall come up over all his channels, and step over all his banks;
8 必沖入猶大，漲溢氾濫，直到頸項。以馬內利啊，他展開翅膀，遍滿你的地。」
And he shall penetrate into Judah, overflow and flood over, even to the neck shall he reach; and his outstretched wings shall fill the breadth of thy land, O 'Immanu-el.
9 列國的人民哪，任憑你們喧嚷，終必破壞； 遠方的眾人哪，當側耳而聽！ 任憑你們束起腰來，終必破壞； 你們束起腰來，終必破壞。
Associate yourselves, O ye people, yet shall ye be broken in pieces; and give ear, all ye of the far portions of the earth: gird yourselves, yet shall ye be broken in pieces; gird yourselves, yet shall ye be broken in pieces.
10 任憑你們同謀，終歸無有； 任憑你們言定，終不成立； 因為上帝與我們同在。
Take counsel together, yet shall it come to naught; speak the word, and it shall not stand firm; for with us is God.
11 耶和華以大能的手，指教我不可行這百姓所行的道，對我這樣說：
For thus said the Lord to me with the strength of prophecy, and warned me not to walk in the way of this people, saying,
12 「這百姓說同謀背叛，你們不要說同謀背叛。他們所怕的，你們不要怕，也不要畏懼。
Call ye not a conspiracy all that this people may call a conspiracy, and what it feareth shall ye not fear, and be not terrified [thereat].
13 但要尊萬軍之耶和華為聖，以他為你們所當怕的，所當畏懼的。
The Lord of hosts, him shall ye sanctify; and let him be your fear, and let him be your terror.
14 他必作為聖所，卻向以色列兩家作絆腳的石頭，跌人的磐石；向耶路撒冷的居民作為圈套和網羅。
And he will be for a sanctuary; but also for a stone of stumbling and for a rock to fall over unto both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
15 許多人必在其上絆腳跌倒，而且跌碎，並陷入網羅，被纏住。」
And many shall stumble over them, and fall, and be broken, and snared, and be caught.
16 你要捲起律法書，在我門徒中間封住訓誨。
Bind up the testimony, seal up the law among my disciples.
17 我要等候那掩面不顧雅各家的耶和華；我也要仰望他。
And I will wait for the Lord, that hideth his face from the house of Jacob, and I will hope for him.
18 看哪，我與耶和華所給我的兒女，就是從住在錫安山萬軍之耶和華來的，在以色列中作為預兆和奇蹟。
Behold, I and the children whom the Lord hath given me are for signs and for tokens in Israel, from the Lord of hosts who dwelleth on mount Zion.
19 有人對你們說：「當求問那些交鬼的和行巫術的，就是聲音綿蠻，言語微細的。」你們便回答說：「百姓不當求問自己的上帝嗎？豈可為活人求問死人呢？」
And when they shall say unto you, “Inquire of those that have familiar spirits, and of the wizards, that whisper, and that mutter:” should not a people inquire of their God? [should we then] in behalf of the living [inquire] of the dead?
20 人當以訓誨和法度為標準；他們所說的，若不與此相符，必不得見晨光。
[Hold] to the law and to the testimony: if they are not to speak according to this word, in which there is no light.
21 他們必經過這地，受艱難，受飢餓；飢餓的時候，心中焦躁，咒罵自己的君王和自己的上帝。
And the [people] shall pass through [the land], hard oppressed and hungry: and it shall come to pass, that when they shall be hungry, they will become enraged, and curse their king and their god, and turn toward on high [for aid].
22 仰觀上天，俯察下地，不料，盡是艱難、黑暗，和幽暗的痛苦。他們必被趕入烏黑的黑暗中去。
And they will look unto the earth; and behold there are trouble and darkness, dimness of oppression, and they shall be scattered into obscurity.
