1 泰爾王希蘭將香柏木運到大衛那裏，又差遣使者和石匠、木匠給大衛建造宮殿。

2 大衛就知道耶和華堅立他作以色列王，又為自己的民以色列，使他的國興旺。

3 大衛在耶路撒冷又立后妃，又生兒女。
and to take: take David still woman: wife in/on/with Jerusalem and to beget David still son: child and daughter
4 在耶路撒冷所生的眾子是沙母亞、朔罷、拿單、所羅門、
and these name [the] to beget which to be to/for him in/on/with Jerusalem Shammua and Shobab Nathan and Solomon
5 益轄、以利書亞、以法列、
and Ibhar and Elishua and Elpelet
6 挪迦、尼斐、雅非亞、
and Nogah and Nepheg and Japhia
7 以利沙瑪、比利雅大、以利法列。
and Elishama and Beeliada and Eliphelet
8 非利士人聽見大衛受膏作以色列眾人的王，非利士眾人就上來尋索大衛。大衛聽見，就出去迎敵。

9 非利士人來了，布散在利乏音谷。

10 大衛求問上帝，說：「我可以上去攻打非利士人嗎？你將他們交在我手裏嗎？」耶和華說：「你可以上去，我必將他們交在你手裏。」

11 非利士人來到巴力‧毗拉心，大衛在那裏殺敗他們。大衛說：「上帝藉我的手沖破敵人，如同水沖去一般」；因此稱那地方為巴力‧毗拉心。

14 大衛又求問上帝。上帝說：「不要一直地上去，要轉到他們後頭，從桑林對面攻打他們。

16 大衛就遵着上帝所吩咐的，攻打非利士人的軍隊，從基遍直到基色。
and to make: do David like/as as which to command him [the] God and to smite [obj] camp Philistine from Gibeon and till Gezer [to]
17 於是大衛的名傳揚到列國，耶和華使列國都懼怕他。
