歷代志上 13
1 大衛與千夫長、百夫長，就是一切首領商議。
And David consulted with the captains of thousands, and of hundreds, [and] with every leader.
2 大衛對以色列全會眾說：「你們若以為美，見這事是出於耶和華－我們的上帝，我們就差遣人走遍以色列地，見我們未來的弟兄，又見住在有郊野之城的祭司利未人，使他們都到這裏來聚集。
And David said to all the congregation of Israel, If [it seemeth] good to you, and [that it is] of the LORD our God, let us send abroad to our brethren every where, [that are] left in all the land of Israel, and with them [also] to the priests and Levites [who are] in their cities [and] suburbs, that they may assemble to us:
3 我們要把上帝的約櫃運到我們這裏來；因為在掃羅年間，我們沒有在約櫃前求問上帝。」
And let us bring again to us the ark of our God: for we inquired not at it in the days of Saul.
4 全會眾都說可以如此行；這事在眾民眼中都看為好。
And all the congregation said that they would do so: for the thing was right in the eyes of all the people.
5 於是，大衛將以色列人從埃及的西曷河直到哈馬口都招聚了來，要從基列‧耶琳將上帝的約櫃運來。
So David assembled all Israel, from Shihor of Egypt even to the entrance of Hemath, to bring the ark of God from Kirjath-jearim.
6 大衛率領以色列眾人上到巴拉，就是屬猶大的基列‧耶琳，要從那裏將約櫃運來。這約櫃就是坐在二基路伯上耶和華上帝留名的約櫃。
And David went up, and all Israel, to Baalah, [that is], to Kirjath-jearim, which [belonged] to Judah, to bring up thence the ark of God the LORD, that dwelleth [between] the cherubim, whose name is called [on it].
7 他們將上帝的約櫃從亞比拿達的家裏抬出來，放在新車上。烏撒和亞希約趕車。
And they carried the ark of God in a new cart out of the house of Abinadab: and Uzza and Ahio drove the cart.
8 大衛和以色列眾人在上帝前用琴、瑟、鑼、鼓、號作樂，極力跳舞歌唱。
And David and all Israel played before God with all [their] might, and with singing, and with harps, and with psalteries, and with timbrels, and with cymbals, and with trumpets.
9 到了基頓的禾場；因為牛失前蹄，烏撒就伸手扶住約櫃。
And when they came to the threshing-floor of Chidon, Uzza put forth his hand to hold the ark; for the oxen stumbled.
10 耶和華向他發怒，因他伸手扶住約櫃擊殺他，他就死在上帝面前。
And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzza, and he smote him, because he put his hand to the ark: and there he died before God.
11 大衛因耶和華擊殺烏撒，心裏愁煩，就稱那地方為毗列斯‧烏撒，直到今日。
And David was displeased, because the LORD had made a breach upon Uzza: wherefore that place is called Perez-uzza to this day.
12 那日，大衛懼怕上帝，說：「上帝的約櫃怎可運到我這裏來？」
And David was afraid of God that day, saying, How shall I bring the ark of God [home] to me?
13 於是大衛不將約櫃運進大衛的城，卻運到迦特人俄別‧以東的家中。
So David brought not the ark to himself to the city of David, but carried it aside into the house of Obed-edom the Gittite.
14 上帝的約櫃在俄別‧以東家中三個月，耶和華賜福給俄別‧以東的家和他一切所有的。
And the ark of God remained with the family of Obed-edom in his house three months. And the LORD blessed the house of Obed-edom, and all that he had.
