箴言 29
1 人屡次受责罚，仍然硬着颈项； 他必顷刻败坏，无法可治。
He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.
2 义人增多，民就喜乐； 恶人掌权，民就叹息。
When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.
3 爱慕智慧的，使父亲喜乐； 与妓女结交的，却浪费钱财。
Whoso loveth wisdom rejoiceth his father: but he that keepeth company with harlots spendeth his substance.
4 王借公平，使国坚定； 索要贿赂，使国倾败。
The king by judgment establisheth the land: but he that receiveth gifts overthroweth it.
5 谄媚邻舍的， 就是设网罗绊他的脚。
A man that flattereth his neighbour spreadeth a net for his feet.
6 恶人犯罪，自陷网罗； 惟独义人欢呼喜乐。
In the transgression of an evil man there is a snare: but the righteous doth sing and rejoice.
7 义人知道查明穷人的案； 恶人没有聪明，就不得而知。
The righteous considereth the cause of the poor: but the wicked regardeth not to know it.
8 亵慢人煽惑通城； 智慧人止息众怒。
Scornful men bring a city into a snare: but wise men turn away wrath.
9 智慧人与愚妄人相争， 或怒或笑，总不能使他止息。
If a wise man contendeth with a foolish man, whether he rage or laugh, there is no rest.
10 好流人血的，恨恶完全人， 索取正直人的性命。
The bloodthirsty hate the upright: but the just seek his soul.
11 愚妄人怒气全发； 智慧人忍气含怒。
A fool uttereth all his mind: but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards.
12 君王若听谎言， 他一切臣仆都是奸恶。
If a ruler hearken to lies, all his servants are wicked.
13 贫穷人、强暴人在世相遇； 他们的眼目都蒙耶和华光照。
The poor and the deceitful man meet together: YHWH lighteneth both their eyes.
14 君王凭诚实判断穷人； 他的国位必永远坚立。
The king that faithfully judgeth the poor, his throne shall be established for ever.
15 杖打和责备能加增智慧； 放纵的儿子使母亲羞愧。
The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame.
16 恶人加多，过犯也加多， 义人必看见他们跌倒。
When the wicked are multiplied, transgression increaseth: but the righteous shall see their fall.
17 管教你的儿子，他就使你得安息， 也必使你心里喜乐。
Correct thy son, and he shall give thee rest; yea, he shall give delight unto thy soul.
18 没有异象，民就放肆； 惟遵守律法的，便为有福。
Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.
19 只用言语，仆人不肯受管教； 他虽然明白，也不留意。
A servant will not be corrected by words: for though he understand he will not answer.
20 你见言语急躁的人吗？ 愚昧人比他更有指望。
Seest thou a man that is hasty in his words? there is more hope of a fool than of him.
21 人将仆人从小娇养， 这仆人终久必成了他的儿子。
He that delicately bringeth up his servant from a child shall have him become his son at the length.
22 好气的人挑启争端； 暴怒的人多多犯罪。
An angry man stirreth up strife, and a furious man aboundeth in transgression.
23 人的高傲必使他卑下； 心里谦逊的，必得尊荣。
A man's pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.
24 人与盗贼分赃，是恨恶自己的性命； 他听见叫人发誓的声音，却不言语。
Whoso is partner with a thief hateth his own soul: he heareth cursing, and bewrayeth it not.
25 惧怕人的，陷入网罗； 惟有倚靠耶和华的，必得安稳。
The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in YHWH shall be safe.
26 求王恩的人多； 定人事乃在耶和华。
Many seek the ruler's favour; but every man's judgment cometh from YHWH.
27 为非作歹的，被义人憎嫌； 行事正直的，被恶人憎恶。
An unjust man is an abomination to the just: and he that is upright in the way is abomination to the wicked.
