耶利米书 39
1 犹大王西底家第九年十月，巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒率领全军来围困耶路撒冷。
In the tenth month of the ninth year of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and his whole army arrived at Jerusalem and besieged it.
2 西底家十一年四月初九日，城被攻破。
On the ninth day of the fourth month of the eleventh year of Zedekiah's reign, the city wall was broken through.
3 耶路撒冷被攻取的时候，巴比伦王的首领尼甲·沙利薛、三甲·尼波、撒西金—拉撒力、尼甲·沙利薛—拉墨，并巴比伦王其余的一切首领都来坐在中门。
All the officials of the king of Babylon came in and took over the city, making their headquarters at the Middle Gate. They were Nergal-sharezer of Samgar, Nebo-sarsekim the Rabsaris, Nergal-sharezer the Rabmag, and all the other officials of the king of Babylon.
4 犹大王西底家和一切兵丁看见他们，就在夜间从靠近王园两城中间的门出城逃跑，往亚拉巴逃去。
When Zedekiah king of Judah and all the defenders saw them there, they ran away. They escaped from the city during the night through the king's garden, passing through the gate between the two walls, and took the road to the Arabah.
5 迦勒底的军队追赶他们，在耶利哥的平原追上西底家，将他拿住，带到哈马地的利比拉、巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒那里；尼布甲尼撒就审判他。
But the Babylonian army chased after them and caught up with Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho. They captured him and brought him before Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon at Riblah in the land of Hamath, where he put him on trial and punished him.
6 巴比伦王在利比拉、西底家眼前杀了他的众子，又杀了犹大的一切贵胄，
The king of Babylon had Zedekiah's sons killed as Zedekiah watched, and he also executed all of Judah's leaders there in Riblah.
7 并且剜西底家的眼睛，用铜链锁着他，要带到巴比伦去。
Then he had Zedekiah's eyes gouged out, and had him bound with bronze chains and taken away to Babylon.
8 迦勒底人用火焚烧王宫和百姓的房屋，又拆毁耶路撒冷的城墙。
The Babylonians burned down the king's palace and the people's houses, and they demolished Jerusalem's city walls.
9 那时，护卫长尼布撒拉旦将城里所剩下的百姓和投降他的逃民，以及其余的民都掳到巴比伦去了。
Then Nebuzaradan the commander of the guard carried off to Babylon the rest of the people who had stayed in the city, together with those who had deserted and gone over to him.
10 护卫长尼布撒拉旦却将民中毫无所有的穷人留在犹大地，当时给他们葡萄园和田地。
But he left behind in the land of Judah some of the poorest people who didn't have any property. He gave them vineyards and fields at that time.
11 巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒提到耶利米，嘱咐护卫长尼布撒拉旦说：
Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had given orders to Nebuzaradan the commander of the guard regarding Jeremiah, saying,
12 “你领他去，好好地看待他，切不可害他；他对你怎么说，你就向他怎么行。”
“Go and get Jeremiah and watch out that nothing bad happens to him. Do whatever he wants.”
13 护卫长尼布撒拉旦和尼布沙斯班—拉撒力、尼甲·沙利薛—拉墨，并巴比伦王的一切官长，
So Nebuzaradan the commander of the guard, Nebushazban the Rabsaris, Nergal-sharezer the Rabmag, and all the army captains of the king of Babylon
14 打发人去，将耶利米从护卫兵院中提出来，交与沙番的孙子亚希甘的儿子基大利，带回家去。于是耶利米住在民中。
took Jeremiah from the guard's courtyard, and they handed him over to Gedaliah son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, to take him home. Jeremiah stayed there with his own people.
15 耶利米还囚在护卫兵院中的时候，耶和华的话临到他说：
During the time that Jeremiah had been kept prisoner in the guard's courtyard, a message from the Lord had come to him:
16 “你去告诉古实人以伯·米勒说，万军之耶和华—以色列的 神如此说：我说降祸不降福的话必临到这城，到那时必在你面前成就了。
“Go and tell Ebed-melech the Cushite that this is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: I am about to keep my promise I made against this city—to harm it and not to help it—you'll see it for yourself when it happens.
17 耶和华说：到那日我必拯救你，你必不致交在你所怕的人手中。
But when that day comes I'm going to save you, declares the Lord. You won't be handed over to the people you're afraid of.
18 我定要搭救你，你不致倒在刀下，却要以自己的命为掠物，因你倚靠我。这是耶和华说的。”
I promise to rescue you so that you're won't be killed. Your reward will be your life, because you trusted in me, declares the Lord.”
