But do you speak the things that become sound teaching;
2 教訓老人應節制、端莊。慎重,在信德、愛德和忍耐上,要正確健全。
that the aged men be vigilant, grave, sober-minded, sound in faith, in love, in patience;
3 也要教訓老婦在舉止上要聖善,不毀謗人,不沉淪於酒,但教人行善,
that the aged women likewise be, in deportment, as it becomes holy women, not slanderers, not enslaved to much wine, teachers of good things,
That they may teach the young women to be sober-minded, to love their husbands, to love their children,
5 慎重、貞潔、勤理家務、善良、服從自己的丈夫,免得抵毀天主的聖道。
to be discreet, chaste, fond of home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not reviled.
Exhort the young men likewise to be sober-minded,
7 你該顯示自己的為行善的模範,在教導上應表示純正莊重,
in all things showing yourself an example of good works; in teaching, showing incorruptness, gravity,
8 要講健全無可指摘的話,使反對的人感到慚愧,說不出我們什麼不好來。
sound speech that can not be condemned; that he that is opposed may be ashamed, seeing he has no evil thing to say of us.
9 教訓奴隸在一切事上要服從自己的主人,常叫他們喜悅,不要抗辯,
Exhort servants to be subject to their own masters, and to please them well in all things, not contradicting,
10 不要竊取,惟要事事表示自己實在忠信,好使我們救主天主的聖道,在一切事上獲得光榮。
not stealing, but showing all good faithfulness, that they may adorn the teaching of God our Savior in all things.
For the grace of God, which brings salvation to all men, has appeared,
12 教導我們棄絕不虔敬的生活,和世俗的貪慾,有節制,公正地、虔敬地在今世生活, (aiōn )
teaching us, that denying ungodliness and worldly desires, we should live soberly and righteously and godly in the present age; (aiōn )
13 期待所希望的幸福,和我們偉大的天主及救主耶穌基督的顯現。
looking for the blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,
14 衪為我們捨棄了自己,是為救贖我們脫離一切罪惡,洗淨我們,使我們能成為衪的選民,叫我們熱心行善。
who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify for himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
15 你要宣講這些事,以全規勸和指摘,不要讓任何人輕視你。
Speak these things, and exhort and rebuke with all strictness. Let no one despise you.
