民數記 31
1 上主訓示梅瑟說：「
YHWH spoke to Moses, saying,
2 你應在米德楊人身上為以色列子民報仇，以後你就要歸到你親族那裡去。」
"Avenge the children of Israel for the Midianites. Afterward you shall be gathered to your people."
3 梅瑟於是吩咐人民說：「你們要選拔壯丁，武裝起來，準備作戰，進攻米德楊，在他們身上為上主雪仇。
Moses spoke to the people, saying, "Arm men from among you for the war, that they may go against Midian, to execute YHWH's vengeance on Midian.
4 以色列每支派應派遣一千人出征作戰。」
Of every tribe one thousand, throughout all the tribes of Israel, you shall send to the war."
5 這樣，每支派出一千人，以色列的部隊共有一萬二千武裝出征的人。
So there were delivered, out of the thousands of Israel, a thousand of every tribe, twelve thousand armed for war.
6 梅瑟就派遣他們──每支派一千人，出征作戰，並派遣大司祭厄肋阿匝爾的兒子丕乃哈斯與他們同去，手內帶著聖器和發號令的喇叭，
Moses sent them, one thousand of every tribe, to the war, them and Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest, to the war, with the vessels of the sanctuary and the trumpets for the alarm in his hand.
7 他們遂照上主對梅瑟所吩咐的，攻擊了米德楊，殺了所有的男子。
They warred against Midian, as YHWH commanded Moses; and they killed every male.
8 除這些被殺的以外，還殺了米德楊五個王子：厄威、勒耿、族爾、胡爾和勒巴；也用刀殺了貝敖爾的兒子巴郎。
They killed the kings of Midian with the rest of their slain: Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, the five kings of Midian: Balaam also the son of Beor they killed with the sword.
9 以色列子民俘虜了米德楊人的婦女和幼童，掠奪了他們所有的牲畜、羊群和財產；
The children of Israel took captive the women of Midian and their little ones; and all their livestock, and all their flocks, and all their goods, they took for a prey.
10 火燒了他們所住的一切城邑和營寨。
All their cities in the places in which they lived, and all their encampments, they burnt with fire.
11 以後把一切所搶所奪之物，人和牲畜都帶走，
They took all the spoil, and all the prey, both of man and of animal.
12 把俘虜和所搶所奪之物，帶到梅瑟和大司祭厄肋阿匝爾以及以色列子民全會眾那裡，即帶到耶里哥的對面，約但河邊，摩阿布曠野中的營盤那裡。
They brought the captives, and the prey, and the spoil, to Moses, and to Eleazar the priest, and to the congregation of the children of Israel, to the camp at the plains of Moab, which are by the Jordan at Jericho.
13 梅瑟和大司祭厄勒阿匝爾以及會眾各首領，都到營外歡迎他們。
Moses, and Eleazar the priest, and all the leaders of the congregation, went forth to meet them outside of the camp.
14 梅瑟對作戰回來的軍官、千夫長和百夫長大發忿怒，
Moses was angry with the officers of the army, the captains of thousands and the captains of hundreds, who came from the service of the war.
15 向他們說：「你們為什麼還讓這一些婦女活著﹖
Moses said to them, "Have you saved all the women alive?
16 看正是她們聽了巴郎的話誘惑了以色列子民，在培敖爾事件上違背了上主，致使災禍降在上主的會眾身上。
Look, these caused the children of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to commit trespass against YHWH in the matter of Peor, and so the plague was among the congregation of YHWH.
17 今應將所有的男童殺死，將所有認識過男人，與男人同過房的女人，都一律殺掉。
Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman who has known man by lying with him.
18 至於那些沒有與男人來往同過房的女童，可為你們保留。
But all the girls, who have not known man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves.
19 你們應七天住在營外；你們和你們的俘虜，凡殺過人，或接觸過屍首的，應在第三天和第七天上取潔；
"Encamp outside of the camp seven days: whoever has killed any person, and whoever has touched any slain, purify yourselves on the third day and on the seventh day, you and your captives.
20 對所有的衣服、皮具、毛織品和木器，都應行取潔禮。」
As to every garment, and all that is made of skin, and all work of goats' hair, and all things made of wood, you shall purify yourselves."
21 大司祭厄肋阿匝爾對作戰回來的軍隊說：「這是上主吩咐梅瑟的法令：
Eleazar the priest said to the men of war who went to the battle, "This is the statute of the law which YHWH has commanded Moses:
22 金銀、銅、鐵、錫、鉛，
however the gold, and the silver, the bronze, the iron, the tin, and the lead,
23 凡能耐火之物，應經過火，再以取潔水取潔，才算潔淨；凡不能耐火之物，應經過水洗。
everything that may withstand the fire, you shall make to go through the fire, and it shall be clean; nevertheless it shall be purified with the water for impurity: and all that doesn't withstand the fire you shall make to go through the water.
24 第七天應洗你們的衣服，你們才算潔淨，然後方可回營。」
You shall wash your clothes on the seventh day, and you shall be clean; and afterward you shall come into the camp."
25 上主又訓示梅瑟說：「
YHWH spoke to Moses, saying,
26 你和厄肋阿匝爾司祭以及會眾的家長，應統計一下掠奪的勝利品，無論是人或牲畜，
"Take the sum of the prey that was taken, both of man and of animal, you, and Eleazar the priest, and the heads of the ancestral houses of the congregation;
27 然後把勝利品平分，一半給出征作戰的兵士，一半給其餘全體會眾。
and divide the prey into two parts: between the men skilled in war, who went out to battle, and all the congregation.
28 由出征作戰的兵士所得的一分中，抽出五百分之一，不論是人、牛、驢或羊，奉獻給上主；
Levy a tribute to YHWH of the men of war who went out to battle: one soul of five hundred; of the persons, of the cattle, of the donkeys, and of the flocks.
29 把所取出的交給厄肋阿匝爾司祭，作為屬於上主的獻儀。
Take it of their half, and give it to Eleazar the priest, for YHWH's wave offering.
30 由以色列子民分得的一半中，應抽出五十分之一，不論是人、牛、驢、羊，或是其他牲畜，交給那些在上主會幕內服務的肋未人。」
Of the children of Israel's half, you shall take one drawn out of every fifty, of the persons, of the cattle, of the donkeys, and of the flocks, of all the livestock, and give them to the Levites, who perform the duty of the tabernacle of YHWH."
31 梅瑟和厄肋阿匝爾司祭就照上主吩咐梅瑟的做了。
Moses and Eleazar the priest did as YHWH commanded Moses.
32 作戰部隊所掠奪的物品，尚存的戰利品，計有羊六十七萬五千隻，
Now the prey, over and above the booty which the men of war took, was six hundred seventy-five thousand sheep,
33 牛七萬二千頭，
and seventy-two thousand head of cattle,
34 驢六萬一千匹；
and sixty-one thousand donkeys,
35 人口，尚未與男人來往同過房的女人，計有三萬二千。
and thirty-two thousand persons in all, of the women who had not known man by lying with him.
36 出征作戰所得的一半，計羊三十三萬七千五百隻；
The half, which was the portion of those who went out to war, was in number three hundred thirty-seven thousand five hundred sheep:
37 由這些羊中，給上主作獻儀的，為六百七十五隻；
and YHWH's tribute of the sheep was six hundred seventy-five.
38 牛三萬六千頭，給上主作獻儀的，為七十二頭；
The cattle were thirty-six thousand; of which YHWH's tribute was seventy-two.
39 驢三萬五百匹，給上主作獻儀的，為六十一匹；
The donkeys were thirty thousand five hundred; of which YHWH's tribute was sixty-one.
40 人口一萬六千，給上主作獻儀的，為三十二人。
The persons were sixteen thousand; of whom YHWH's tribute was thirty-two persons.
41 梅瑟就照上主對他所吩咐的，將取出作為上主獻儀的一份，交給了厄肋阿匝爾司祭。
Moses gave the tribute, which was YHWH's wave offering, to Eleazar the priest, as YHWH commanded Moses.
42 至於梅瑟分配給以色列子民的那一半，即與作戰的兵士平分出來的，
Of the children of Israel's half, which Moses divided off from the men who warred
43 那屬於會眾的一半，計有羊三十三萬七千五百隻，
(now the congregation's half was three hundred thirty-seven thousand five hundred sheep,
44 牛三萬六千頭，
and thirty-six thousand head of cattle,
45 驢三萬五百匹，
and thirty thousand five hundred donkeys,
46 人口一萬六千。
and sixteen thousand persons),
47 梅瑟照上主對他所吩咐的，由屬於以色列子民的這一半，抽出五十分之一的人和牲畜，交給了那些在上主會幕內服務的肋未人。
even of the children of Israel's half, Moses took one drawn out of every fifty, both of man and of animal, and gave them to the Levites, who performed the duty of the tabernacle of YHWH; as YHWH commanded Moses.
48 出征作戰的軍官，千夫長和百夫長，來到梅瑟前，
The officers who were over the thousands of the army, the captains of thousands, and the captains of hundreds, came near to Moses;
49 對他說：「你的僕人們調查了所屬的作戰士兵，一個也沒有少。
and they said to Moses, "Your servants have taken the sum of the men of war who are under our command, and there lacks not one man of us.
50 為此我們每人將所獲得的金器，如臂鐲、腕鐲、戒指、耳環和項鏈，獻於上主作獻儀，好在上主面前為我們贖罪。」
We have brought YHWH's offering, what every man has gotten, of jewels of gold, armlets, and bracelets, signet rings, earrings, and necklaces, to make atonement for our souls before YHWH."
51 梅瑟和厄肋阿匝爾司祭由他們手中接受了這一切金製物品。
Moses and Eleazar the priest took their gold, even all worked jewels.
52 千夫長和百夫長獻給上主作獻儀的金子，共計一萬六千七百五十「協刻耳。」
All the gold of the wave offering that they offered up to YHWH, of the captains of thousands, and of the captains of hundreds, was sixteen thousand seven hundred fifty shekels.
53 兵丁所掠奪的東西，各歸己有。
(The men of war had taken booty, every man for himself.)
54 梅瑟和厄肋阿匝爾司祭遂將由千夫長和百夫長所收下的金子，帶入會幕內，好使上主記念以色列子民。
Moses and Eleazar the priest took the gold of the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and brought it into the Tent of Meeting, for a memorial for the children of Israel before YHWH.
