馬太福音 6
1 你們應當心，不要在人行你們的仁義，為叫他們看；若是這樣，你們在天父之前就沒有賞報了。
Take heed that ye do not your righteousness before men, to be seen of them: else ye have no reward with your Father which is in heaven.
2 所以，當你們施拾時，不可在你們前面吹號，如同假善人在會堂及街上所行的一樣，為受人們的稱讚；我實在告訴你們，他們已獲得了他們的賞報。
When therefore thou doest alms, sound not a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have received their reward.
3 當你施捨時，不要叫你左手知道你右手所行的，
But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:
4 好使你的施拾捨隱而不露，你的父在暗中看見，必要報答你。
that thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret shall recompense thee.
5 當你祈禱時，不要如同假善人一樣，愛在會堂及十字街頭立著祈禱，為顯示給人；我實在告訴你們，他們已獲得了他們的賞報。
And when ye pray, ye shall not be as the hypocrites: for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have received their reward.
6 至於你，當你祈禱時，要進入你的內室，關上門，向你在暗中之父祈禱；你的父在暗中看見，必要報答你。
But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thine inner chamber, and having shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret, and thy Father which seeth in secret shall recompense thee.
7 你們祈禱時，不要嘮嘮叨叨，如同外邦人一樣，因為他們以為只要多言，便可獲得垂允。
And in praying use not vain repetitions, as the Gentiles do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
8 你們不要們跟他們一樣，因為你們的父，在你們求祂以前，已知道你們需要什麼。
Be not therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.
9 所以你們應當這樣祈禱：我們在天的父！ 願你的名被為聖，
After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10 願你的國來臨，願你的旨意承行於地，如在天上一樣！
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so on earth.
11 我們的日用糧，求你今天賞給我們；
Give us this day our daily bread.
12 寬免我們的罪債，如同我們也寬免得罪我們的人；
And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13 不要讓我們陷入罪惡，但救我們免於兇惡。
And bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil [one].
14 因為你們若寬免別的過犯，你們的天父也必寬免你們的；
For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
15 但你們不寬免別人的，你們的父也必不寬免你們的過犯。
But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
16 幾時你們禁食，不要如同假善人一樣，面帶愁容；因為他們苦喪著臉，是叫人看出他們禁食來。我實在告訴你們，他們已獲得了他們的賞報。
Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may be seen of men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have received their reward.
17 至於你，當你禁食時，要用油抹你的頭洗你的臉，
But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thy head, and wash thy face;
18 不要叫人看出你禁食來，但叫你那在暗中之父看見；你的父在中看見，必要報答你。
that thou be not seen of men to fast, but of thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall recompense thee.
19 你們不要在地上為自己積畜寶，因為在地上有蟲蛀，有銹蝕，在地上也有賊挖洞偷竊；
Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon the earth, where moth and rust doth consume, and where thieves break through and steal:
20 但該在天上為自己積畜財寶，因為那裏沒有蟲蝕，那裏也沒有賊挖洞偷竊。
but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth consume, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
21 因為你的財寶在那裏，你的心也必在那裏。
for where thy treasure is, there will thy heart be also.
22 眼睛就是身體的燈。所以，你的眼睛若是健康的，你的全身就都光明。
The lamp of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.
23 但是，如果你的眼睛有了病，你的全身都黑暗。那麼，你身上的光明如果成了黑暗，那該是多麼黑暗！
But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is the darkness!
24 沒有人能事奉兩個主人：他或是要恨這一個，而愛那一個，或是依附這一個而輕忽那一個。你們不能事奉天主而又事奉錢財。
No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
25 為此，我告訴你們：不要為你們的生命憂慮吃什麼，或喝什麼；休不要為你們的身體憂慮穿什麼。難道生命不是貴於食物，身體不是貴於衣服嗎﹖
Therefore I say unto you, Be not anxious for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than the food, and the body than the raiment?
26 你們仰觀天空的飛鳥，牠們不播種，也不收穫，也不在糧裏屯積，你們的天父還是養活牠們；你們不比牠們更們更重嗎﹖
Behold the birds of the heaven, that they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; and your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are not ye of much more value than they?
27 你們中誰能運用思慮，使自己的壽命增加一肘呢﹖
And which of you by being anxious can add one cubit unto his stature?
28 關於衣服，你們又憂慮什麼﹖你們觀一下田間的百合花怎樣生長：它們既不勞作，也不紡織；
And why are ye anxious concerning raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
29 可是我告訴你們：連撒羅滿在他極盛的榮華時代所披戴的，也不如這些花中的一朵.
yet I say unto you, that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
30 田裏的野草今天還在，明天就投在爐中，天主尚且這樣裝飾，信德薄弱的人哪，何況你們呢﹖
But if God doth so clothe the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, [shall he] not much more [clothe] you, O ye of little faith?
31 所以，你們不要憂慮說：我們吃什麼，喝什麼，穿什麼﹖
Be not therefore anxious, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
32 因為這一切切都是外邦人所尋求的；你們的天父原曉得你們需這一切。
For after all these things do the Gentiles seek; for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
33 你們先該尋求天主的國和它的義德，這一切自會加給你們。
But seek ye first his kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
34 所以你們不要為明天憂慮，因為明天有明天的憂慮：一天的苦足夠一天受的了。
Be not therefore anxious for the morrow: for the morrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
