馬太福音 25
1 ，天國好比十個童女，拿著自己的燈，出去迎接新郎。
“Then the kingdom of heaven will be like ten bridesmaids who took their lamps and went out to meet the groom.
2 他們中五個是糊塗的，五個是明智的。
Five of them were foolish, and five were prudent.
3 糊塗的拿了燈，卻沒有隨身帶油；
The foolish ones took their lamps, but took no oil with them;
4 而明智的拿了燈，並且在壺裏帶了油。
while the prudent ones, besides taking their lamps, took oil in their jars.
5 因為新郎遲廷，她們都打盹睡著了。
As the groom was late in coming, they all became drowsy, and slept.
6 半夜有人喊說：新郎來了，你們出來迎接吧！
But at midnight a shout was raised – ‘The groom is coming! Come out to meet him!’
7 那些童女遂都起來，裝備她們的燈。
Then all the bridesmaids woke up and trimmed their lamps,
8 糊塗的對明智的說：把妳們的油，分些給我們吧！因為我們的燈快要滅了！
and the foolish said to the prudent ‘Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out.’
9 明智的答說：怕為我各妳們都不夠，更好妳們到賣油的那裏去，為自己買吧！
But the prudent ones answered ‘No, There may not be enough for you and for us. Go instead to those who sell it, and buy for yourselves.’
10 好們去買的時候，新郎到了，那準備好了的，就同他進去，共赴婚宴；門遂關上了。
But while they were on their way to buy it, the groom came; and the bridesmaids who were ready went in with him to the banquet, and the door was shut.
11 末後，其餘的童女也來了，說：主啊！主啊！給我們開門吧！
Afterward the other bridesmaids came. ‘Sir, Sir,’ they said, ‘open the door to us!’
12 他卻答說：我實在告訴妳們：我不認識妳們。
But the groom answered ‘I tell you, I do not know you.’
13 所以你們該醒寤，因為你們不知道那日子，也不知道那時辰。
Therefore watch, since you know neither the day nor the hour.
14 天國又如一個要遠行的人，將自己的僕人叫來，把財產托付給他們：
“For it is as though a man, going on his travels, called his servants, and gave his property into their charge.
15 按照他們的才能，一個給了五個「塔冷通」，一個給了二個，一個給了一個；然後動身走了。
He gave five bags of gold to one, two to another, and one bag to a third, in proportion to the ability of each. Then he set out on his travels.
16 那領了五個「塔冷通」的，立刻去用來營業，另外賺了五個。
The servant who had received the five bags of gold went at once and traded with it, and made another five bags.
17 同樣，那領了二個的，也另外賺了二個。
So, too, the servant who had received the two bags of gold made another two bags.
18 那領了一個的，卻去掘開地，把主人的銀子藏了。
But the servant who had received the one bag went and dug a hole in the ground, and hid his master’s money.
19 過了多時，僕人的主人回來了，便與他們算賬。
After a long time the master of those servants returned, and settled accounts with them.
20 那領了五個「塔冷通」的前來，呈上另外五個「塔冷通」說：主啊！你曾交給我五個「塔冷通」，看，我賺了另外五個「塔冷通」。
The servant who had received the five bags of gold came up and brought five bags more. ‘Sir,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with five bags of gold; look, I have made another five bags!’
21 主人對他說：好！善良忠信的僕人，你既在少許事上忠信，我必委派你營理許多大事：進入你主人的福樂吧！
‘Well done, good, trustworthy servant!’ said his master. ‘You have been trustworthy with a small sum; now I will place a large one in your hands; come and share your master’s joy!’
22 那領了二個「塔冷通」的也前來說：主啊！你曾交給我兩個「塔冷通」，看，我賺了另外兩個「塔冷通」。
Then the one who had received the two bags of gold came up and said ‘Sir, you entrusted me with two bags pounds; look, I have made another two!’
23 主人對他說：好！善良忠信的僕人，你既在少許事上忠信，我必委派你營理理許多大事：進入你主人的福樂吧！
‘Well done, good, trustworthy servant!’ said his master. ‘You have been trustworthy with a small sum; now I will place a large one in your hands; come and share your master’s joy!’
24 隨後那領了一個「塔冷通」的也前來說：主啊！我原知道你是個刻薄的人，在你沒有下種的地方收割，在你沒有散布的地方聚斂。
The man who had received the single bag of gold came up, too, and said ‘Sir, I knew that you were a hard man; you reap where you have not sown, and gather up where you have not winnowed;
25 因為我害怕，所以我去把你的「塔冷通」藏下地下；看，你的仍還給你。
and, in my fear, I went and hid your money in the ground; look, here is what belongs to you!’
26 主人回答說：可惡懶惰的僕人！你既知道：我在沒有下種的地方收割，在沒有敵布的地方聚斂；
‘You lazy, worthless servant!’ was his master’s reply. ‘You knew that I reap where I have not sown, and gather up where I have not winnowed?
27 那麼，你就該把我銀子，交給錢莊裏的人，待我回來時，把我的連本帶利回。
Then you ought to have placed my money in the hands of bankers, and I, on my return, should have received my money, with interest.
28 所以，你們這個「塔冷通」從他手中奪過來，給那有了十個「塔冷通」的，
Therefore,’ he continued, ‘take away from him the one bag of gold, and give it to the one who has the ten bags.
29 因為凡是有的，還要給他，叫他富裕；那沒有的，連他所有的，也要由他手中奪去。
For, to him who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance; but, as for him who has nothing, even what he has will be taken away from him.
30 至於這無用的僕人，你們把他丟在外面的黑暗中，在那裏必有哀號和切齒。
As for the useless servant, put him out into the darkness outside, where there will be weeping and grinding of teeth.’
31 當人子在自己的光榮中，與眾天使一同降來時，那時，衪要坐在光榮的寶座上，
“When the Son of Man has come in his glory and all the angels with him, then he will take his seat on his throne of glory;
32 一切民族，都要聚在衪面前；衪要把他們彼此分開如同牧人分開綿羊和山羊一樣。
and all the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people – just as a shepherd separates sheep from goats –
33 把綿羊放在己的右邊，山羊在左邊。
placing the sheep on his right hand, and the goats on his left.
34 那時，君王要對那些在衪右邊的說：我父所祝福的，你們來吧！承受自創世以來，給你們預備了的國度吧！
Then the king will say to those on his right ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, enter into possession of the kingdom prepared for you ever since the beginning of the world.
35 因為我餓了，你們給了我吃的；我渴了，你們給了我喝的；我作客，你們收留了我；
For, when I was hungry, you gave me food; when I was thirsty, you gave me drink; when I was a stranger, you took me to your homes;
36 我赤身露體，你們給了我穿的；我患病，你們看顧了我；我在監裏，你們來探了我。
when I was naked, you clothed me; when I fell ill, you visited me; and when I was in prison, you came to me.’
37 那時，義人回答衪說：主啊！我們什麼時候見了你饑餓而供養了你，或口渴而給了你喝的？
Then the righteous will answer ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry, and feed you? Or thirsty, and give you a drink?
38 我們什麼時候見了你作客，而收留了你，或赤身露體而給了你穿的？
When did we see you a stranger, and take you to our homes? Or naked, and clothe you?
39 我們什麼時候見了你患病，或在監裏而來探望過你？
When did we see you ill, or in prison, and come to you?’
40 君王便回答他門說：我實在告訴你們：凡你們對我這些最小兄弟中的一個所做的，就是對我做的。
And the king will reply ‘I tell you, as often as you did it to one of these my brothers or sisters, however unimportant they seemed, you did it to me.’
Then he will say to those on his left ‘Go from my presence, accursed, into the permanent fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels. (aiōnios g166)
42 因為我餓了，你們沒有給我吃的；我渴了，你們沒有我喝的；
For, when I was hungry, you gave me no food; when I was thirsty, you gave me no drink;
43 我作客，你你們沒有收留我；我赤身露身，你們沒有給我穿的；我患病或在監裏，你們沒有來探望我。
when I was a stranger, you did not take me to your homes; when I was naked, you did not clothe me; and, when I was ill and in prison, you did not visit me.’
44 那時，他們也要回答說：主啊！我們幾時見了你飢餓，或口渴，或作客，或赤身露體，或有病，或坐監，而我們沒有給你效勞？
Then they, in their turn, will answer ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or ill, or in prison, and did not supply your wants?’
45 那時君王回答們們說：我實在告訴你們：凡你們沒有給這些最小中的一個所做的，便是沒有給我做。
And then he will reply ‘I tell you, as often as you failed to do it to one of these, however unimportant, you failed to do it to me.’
