馬太福音 23
1 ，耶穌對民眾和衪的門徒景講論說：
Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples,
2 經師和法利賽人坐在梅瑟的講座上：
“The scribes and the Pharisees sit on Moses' seat.
3 凡他們對你們所說的，你們要行要守；但不要照他們的行為去做，因為他們只說不做。
Therefore observe and do all that they tell you to observe. But do not do what they do, for they say things and do not do them.
4 他們把沉重而難以負荷的擔子捆好，放在人的肩上，自己卻不肯用一個指頭動一下。
They bind burdens that are heavy and hard to bear and lay them on people's shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them.
5 他們所作的一切工作都是為叫人看；為此他們把經匣放寬，衣繸加長；
They do all their works to be seen by others. They make their phylacteries wide and the fringes of their garments long.
6 他們又喜愛筳席上的首位，會堂中的上座，
They love the place of honor at banquets, the best seats in the synagogues,
7 喜愛人在街市上向他們致敬，稱他們為「辣彼」。
greetings in the marketplaces, and when others call them ‘Rabbi, Rabbi.’
8 至於你們，卻不要被稱為「辣彼」，因為你們的師傅只有一位，你們眾人都是兄弟；
But you are not to be called ‘Rabbi,’ for there is one who is your instructor, the Christ, and you are all brothers.
9 也不要在地上稱人為你們的父，因為你們的父只有一位，就是天上的父。
And do not call anyone on earth your father, for there is one who is your Father, he who is in heaven.
10 你們也不要被稱為導師，因為你們的導師只有一位，就是默西亞。
Neither are you to be called instructors, for there is one who is your instructor, the Christ.
11 你們中那最大的，該作你們的僕役。
But he who is greater among you must be your servant.
12 凡高舉自己的，必被眨抑；凡眨抑己的，必被高舉。
For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.
13 禍哉你們經師和法利賽假善人！因為你們封閉了天國：你們不進去，也不讓願意進去的人進去。
“But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you devour widows' houses and for a pretense make long prayers. Therefore you will receive a more severe judgment.
14 [禍哉，你們經師和法利賽假善人！因為你們吞沒了寡婦的家產，而以長久的祈禱作掩飾，為此，你們必要遭受更重的處罰。]
“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut people out of the kingdom of heaven. You yourselves do not enter, nor do you let in those who are trying to enter.
“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you cross sea and land to make a single convert, and when he has become one, you make him twice as much a son of hell as yourselves. (Geenna g1067)
16 禍哉，你們瞎眼的響導！你們說：誰若指著聖所起誓，不算什麼；但是誰若指著聖所的金子起誓，就該還願。
“Woe to you, blind guides, who say, ‘If anyone swears by the temple, it is nothing; but if anyone swears by the gold of the temple, he is bound by his oath.’
17 又昏又瞎的人哪！究竟什麼更貴重：是金子還是使那金子成聖的聖所？
You fools and blind men! Which is greater, the gold or the temple that makes the gold sacred?
18 還有：誰若指著全燔祭壇起誓，不算什麼；但是誰若指著那上面的供物起誓，就該還願。
You also say, ‘If anyone swears by the altar, it is nothing; but if anyone swears by the gift on the altar, he is bound by his oath.’
19 瞎眼的人哪！究竟什麼更貴重：是供物或是那使供物成聖的全墦祭壇？
You fools and blind men! Which is greater, the gift or the altar that makes the gift sacred?
20 所以，那指著全燔祭壇起誓的，是指著它和那上面的一切起誓；
Therefore, whoever swears by the altar swears by it and by everything on it.
21 那指著聖所起誓的是指著它和那住在它內的而起誓；
And whoever swears by the temple swears by it and by him who dwells in it.
22 那指著天起誓的，是指天主的寶座和坐在上面的那起誓。
And whoever swears by heaven swears by the throne of God and by him who sits upon it.
23 禍哉，你們經師和法利賽假善人！因為你們捐獻十分之一的薄荷、茴香和蒔蘿，卻放過了法律上最重要的公義、仁愛與信義；這些固然該作，那些也不可放萵。
“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you tithe mint, dill, and cumin, yet you have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice, mercy, and faith. These you ought to have practiced without neglecting the other things.
24 瞎眼的響導！ 你們濾出蚊蚋，卻吞下了駱駝。
You blind guides, who strain out a gnat but swallow a camel!
25 禍哉，你們經師和法利賽假善人！因為你們洗擦杯盤的外面，裏面卻滿是劫奪與貪慾。
“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you cleanse the outside of the cup and the dish, but the inside is filled with the fruits of your robbery and unrighteousness.
26 瞎眼的法利賽人！你們先應清潔杯的裏面，好叫它外面也成為清潔的。
Yoʋ blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and the dish, and then the outside of them will also be clean.
27 禍哉，你們經師和法利賽假善人！因為你們好像用石灰刷白的墳墓；外面看來倒華麗，裏面卻滿是死者的骨骸和各樣的污穢。
“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs, which appear beautiful on the outside, but inside they are full of the bones of the dead and all uncleanness.
28 同樣，你們外面看來倒像義人，你們裏面卻滿是虛偽和不去。
In the same way, you also appear righteous to others on the outside, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.
29 禍哉，你們經師和法利賽假善人！ 因為你們修建先知的墳，裝飾義人的墓，
“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you build the tombs of the prophets and adorn the graves of the righteous,
30 且說：假使我們生在我們祖先的時日，我們決不是流先知血的夥伴；
and you say, ‘If we had been alive in the days of our fathers, we would not have been participants with them in shedding the blood of the prophets.’
31 這樣你們自己作證，你們是那些殺殘先知者的子孫了。
Therefore you bear witness against yourselves that you are the sons of those who murdered the prophets.
32 你們就來補足你們祖先作惡的尺度吧！
Fill up, then, the measure of your fathers.
You serpents, you brood of vipers! How will you escape being sentenced to hell? (Geenna g1067)
34 為此，看！我打發先知、賢智和經師到你們這裏來，其中有的你們要殺死，有的你們要釘死，有的你們要在你們的會堂中鞭打，有的你們要由一城追到另一城，
Therefore, behold, I am sending you prophets, sages, and scribes. Some of them you will kill and crucify, and some of them you will flog in your synagogues and persecute from town to town.
35 好叫流在地上一切義人的血，自義人亞伯爾的血，直到你們曾在聖所與全燔祭壇間，所的貝勒基雅的兒子則加利的血，都歸你們身上。
As a result, all the righteous blood that has been shed on earth will come upon you, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah son of Barachiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar.
36 我實在告訴你們：這一切都要歸到這一代人身上。
Truly I say to you, all these things will come upon this generation.
37 耶路撒冷！耶路撒冷！你常殘殺先知，用石頭砸死那些派遺到你們這裏來的人。我多少次願意願意聚集你的子女，有如母雞把自己的幼雛聚集在翅膀下，但你卻不願意！
“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to yoʋ! How often I have wanted to gather yoʋr children together as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing!
38 看吧！你們的房屋必給你們留下一片荒涼。
Behold, your house is left to you desolate.
39 因為我告訴你們：自今以後，你們斷不能再看己我，直到你們說：因上主之名而來的，當受讚頌！」
For I tell you, from now on you will certainly not see me until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!’”
