馬太福音 11
1 穌囑咐完了衪的十二門徒，就從那裏走了，為在他們的城施教宣講。
When Jesus had finished instructing his twelve disciples, he departed from there to teach and preach in the cities of Galilee.
2 若翰在獄中聽到了基督所行的，就派遣他的門徒去，
Now when John heard in prison about the works Christ had done, he sent two of his disciples
3 對衪說：「你就是那要來的那一位，或是我們還要等待另一位。」
to ask him, “Are yoʋ the one who is to come, or should we wait for another?”
4 耶穌回答他們說：「，你們去，把你們所見所聞的報告給若翰：
Jesus answered them, “Go tell John what you hear and see:
5 瞎子看見，瘸子行走，癩病人得了潔淨，聾子聽見，死士復活，窮若人得了喜訊，
The blind receive their sight and the lame walk, lepers are made clean and the deaf hear, the dead are raised and the poor have good news preached to them.
6 凡不因我而絆倒的，是有福的！」
And blessed is anyone who does not take offense at me.”
7 他們走後，耶穌對群眾論若翰說：「你們出去到荒野裏，是為看什麼呢﹖是為看風搖曳的蘆葦嗎﹖
As these men went away, Jesus began to speak to the crowds about John: “What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind?
8 你們出去到底是為看什麼﹖為看一位穿細軟衣服的人嗎﹖啊！那穿細軟衣 服的人是在王宮裏。
What then did you go out to see? A man clothed in soft garments? Behold, those who wear soft garments are in the palaces of kings.
9 你們究竟為什麼出去﹖為看一位先知嗎﹖是的，我給你們說：而且衪比先知還。
But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet.
10 關於這人，經上記載說：『看，我派我的使者在你面前，衪要在你面前預備你的道路。
For this is the one of whom it is written, ‘Behold, I am sending my messenger ahead of yoʋ, who will prepare yoʋr way before yoʋ.’
11 我實在告訴你們：在婦女所生者中，沒有興起一位比若翰更大的，但在天國裏最小的，也比他大。
Truly I say to you, among those born of women there has arisen no one greater than John the Baptist, but whoever is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.
12 由洗者若翰的日子直到如今，天國是以猛力奪取的，以猛力奪取的人，就攫取了它，
From the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven has been suffering violence, and the violent try to take it by force.
13 因為眾先知和法律講說預言，直到若翰為止。
For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John.
14 若是你們願意接受，他他就是那位要來的厄里亞。
And if you are willing to accept it, he is Elijah who is to come.
15 有耳的，聽吧！
He who has ears to hear, let him hear.
16 「我可把這一代比作什麼呢﹖它像坐在大街上的兒童，向其他的孩子喊叫，說：
“But to what should I compare this generation? It is like children sitting in the marketplaces and calling out to their companions,
17 我給你們吹了笛，你們卻不跳舞，我們唱了哀歌，你們卻不捶胸。
‘We played the flute for you, but you did not dance; we sang a lament for you, but you did not mourn.’
18 若翰來了，也不吃，也不喝，他們便說：他附了魔；
For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, ‘He has a demon.’
19 人子來了，也吃也喝，他們卻說：看哪！一個貪吃嗜酒的人，稅吏和罪人的朋友！但智慧必藉自己的工程彰顯自己的正義。」
The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Behold, a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ Yet wisdom is vindicated by her children.”
20 那時，耶穌就開始譴責那曾看過衪許多異能的城邑，因為她們沒有悔改：
Then Jesus began to reproach the cities in which most of his miracles had been done, because they did not repent:
21 「苛辣匝因，你是有禍的！貝特賽達，你是有禍的！因為在你那裏所行的異能，如果行在提洛和漆冬，她們早己身披苦衣，頭上撒灰做補贖了。
“Woe to yoʋ, Chorazin! Woe to yoʋ, Bethsaida! For if the miracles that were done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.
22 但是我給說：在猶太的日子，提洛和漆冬所受的懲罰也要比你們的容易忍受。
But I tell you, it will be more tolerable on the day of judgment for Tyre and Sidon than for you.
And yoʋ, Capernaum, who have been exalted to heaven, will be brought down to Hades. For if the miracles that were done in yoʋ had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day. (Hadēs g86)
24 但是我給你們說：在審判的日子，索多瑪地所受的懲罰也要比你們容易忍受。
But I tell you, it will be more tolerable on the day of judgment for the land of Sodom than for yoʋ.”
25 就在那時侯，耶穌發言說：「父啊！天地的主宰！我稱謝你，因為你將這些事瞞住了智慧和明達的人，而啟示給小孩子。
At that time Jesus said, “I praise yoʋ, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because yoʋ have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent, and revealed them to infants.
26 是的，父啊！你原來喜歡這樣。
Yes, Father, for so it was well-pleasing in yoʋr sight.
27 我父將一切交給了我；除了父外，沒有人認識子；除了子和子所願意啟示的人外，也沒有人認識父。
All things have been delivered to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son, and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.
28 凡勞苦和負重擔的，你們都到我跟前來，我要使你們安息。
Come to me, all of you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest.
29 你們背起我的軛，跟我學吧！因為我是良善心謙的：這樣你們必要找到你們的靈魂安息，
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
30 我的軛是柔和的，我的擔子是輕鬆的。
For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
