路加福音 13
1 在那時，來了幾個人把有關加利肋亞人的事，即比拉多把他們的血，與他們的祭品攙和在一起的事報告給耶穌。
Now there were some present at that very season who told him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifies.
2 他回答說：「你們以為這些加利肋亞人比其他所有的加利肋亞人更有罪，才遭此禍害嗎﹖
"Do you suppose," he answered them, "that those Galileans were worse sinners than the rest of the Galileans because they have suffered thus?
3 不是的。我告訴你們：如果你們不悔改，你們都要同樣喪亡。
"I tell you no; but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.
4 或如史羅亞塔倒下，而壓死的那十八個人，你們以為他們比耶路撒冷的其他一切居民罪債更大嗎﹖
"Or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them, do you suppose that they were worse offenders than the rest of those who lived in Jerusalem?
5 不是的。我告訴你們：如困你們不悔改，你們都要同樣喪亡。」
"I tell you no; but unless you repent, you will all perish as they did."
6 他講了這個比喻說：「有一個人曾將一棵無花果樹，栽在自己的葡萄園內。他來在樹上找果子，但沒有找到，
Then he gave them this parable. "A man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came to look for fruit on it, but found none.
7 便對園丁說：你看，我三年來在這棵無花果樹上找果子，但沒有找到，你砍掉它罷，為什麼讓它荒廢土地﹖
So he said to the gardener. "‘See, for years I have come looking for fruit on this tree, and found none. Cut it down. Why should it actually cumber the ground?’
8 園丁回答說: 主人，再容它這一年罷! 待我在它周圍掘土，加上糞；
"But the gardener answered him. ‘Lord, let it alone this year also, till I have dug around it, and fertilized it.
9 將來如果結果子就算了；不然的話，你就把它砍了。」
"If after that it bears fruit, well and good; but if not you shall cut it down.’"
10 安息日，耶穌在一會堂裏施教。
Once he was teaching in one of the synagogues, on the Sabbath,
11 有一女人，病魔纏身已十八年了，傴僂著，完全不能直立。
a woman was present who had a spirit of infirmity for eighteen years. she was bent double, and could not lift herself up at all.
12 耶穌見了她，便叫她過來，給她說：「女人，你的病已消除了。」
Jesus noticed her and called to him and said, "Woman, you are free from your weakness."
13 遂給她按手，她即刻就挺直起來，光榮天主。
Then he placed his hand on her, and she instantly stood upright and began to give glory to God.
14 會堂長因氣惱耶穌在安息日治病，便給眾人說道：「有六天應該工作，你們在這些日子可來治病，但不可以在安息日這一天。」
But the ruler of the synagogue was indignant at Jesus for healing her on the Sabbath, and said to the crowd. "There are six days of the week on which men ought to work. Therefore come during those, and get cured, but not on the Sabbath Day."
15 主回答他說：「假善人哪! 你們每一個人在安息日，有不解下槽上的牛驢，牽去飲水的嗎﹖
But the Lord answered him. "Hypocrites!" he said, "does not each one of you loose his ox or his ass from the stall on the Sabbath Day, and lead it to water,
16 這個女人原是亞巴郎的女兒，她被撒殫纏住已經有十八年了，安息日這一天，就不該解開她的束縛嗎﹖」
"and this woman, who is the daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound these eighteen years, ought she not have been loosened from bondage, though the day be the Sabbath?"
17 當耶穌講這話時，所有對他的人，個個慚愧；一切民眾因他所行的種種輝煌事蹟，莫不歡喜。
As he said this, all adversaries were put to shame; and all the crowd rejoiced for the glorious things that he continually did.
18 耶穌又說：「天主的國相似什麼﹖我要把它比作什麼呢﹖
This led him to say. "What is the kingdom of God like? And to what shall I compare it?
19 它相似一粒芥子，人取來種在自己的園中，它遂生長起來，成了大樹，天上的飛鳥都棲息在它的枝頭上。」
"It is like a grain of mustardseed, which a man took and cast into his own garden. It grew and became a tree, and the wild birds nested in its branches."
20 他又說：「我要把天主的國比作什麼呢﹖
And again he said. "To what shall I liken the kingdom of God?
21 它相似酵母，女人取來藏在三斗櫃中，直到全部發酵。」
"It is like leaven which a took and hid in three measures of flour until the whole was leavened."
22 耶穌經過城市鄉村，隨處施教，朝著耶路撒冷走去。
So he went on his way through cities and villages,
23 有一個人給他說：「主，得救的人果然不多嗎﹖」耶穌對他們說：「
teaching as he journeyed toward Jerusalem. And a man came behind him and said, "Lord are there but few that are saved?"
24 你們竭力由窄門而入罷! 因為將來有許多人，我告訴你們: 要想進去，而不得入。
"Struggle to enter in by the narrow door," he answered, "for I tell you that many will try to enter and not be able,
25 及至家主起來把門關上，你們在外面站著，開始敲門說: 主，請給我們開門罷! 他要回答你們說：我不認你們是那裏的。
"when once the master of the house is risen up and has shut the door. You will begin to stand outside, and to knock at the door, crying, "‘Lord, open to us.’ "‘I do not know were you came from,’ he will reply.
26 那時，你們會說：我們曾在你面前吃過喝過；你也曾在我們的街市上施教過。
"Then you will begin saying, ‘But we have eaten and drunk in your presence, and you have taught in our streets.’
27 他要說：我告訴你們：我不認識你們是那裏的; 你們這些作惡的人，都離開我去罷!
"But he will answer. "‘I tell you I do not know were you came from;
28 幾時你們望見亞巴郎、依撒格、雅各伯及眾先知在天主的國裏，你們卻被拋棄在外，那裏要有哀號和切齒。
"‘depart from me, all of you, you evil-doers.’ There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth when you shall see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves cast out.
29 將有從東從西，從南從北而來的人，在天主的國裏坐席。
"And people shall come from the Orient and from the Occident, from the north and from the south, and sit down in the kingdom of God.
30 看罷! 有最後的將成為最先的，也有最先的將成為最後的。」
"And lo, there are last which shall be first, and there are first which shall be last."
31 這時刻，有幾個法利賽人前來給耶穌說: 「你離開這裏走罷! 因為黑落德要殺你。」
That very day there came some Pharisees to him, saying, "Get out of here and go away, for Herod wishes to kill you."
32 耶穌給他們說: 「你們去告訴這個狐狸罷! 看，我今天明天驅魔治病，第三天就要完畢。
"Go, tell that fox," he answered, "‘Lo, today and tomorrow I am continuing to cast out demons and perform cures, and on the third day I finish my course.’
33 但是，今天明天以及後天，我必須前行，因為先知不宜死在耶路撒冷之外。
"Yet I must continue my journey today, tomorrow, and the day following; for it would never do for a prophet to perish outside of Jerusalem!
34 耶路撒冷，耶路撒冷，你屢次殘殺先知，用石頭擊斃那些奉命到你這裏來的人；我多少次願意聚集你的子女，如母雞聚集自己的雛雞，在牠翅翼下，可是你們偏不願意。
"O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those who are sent to you! How often would I have gathered your children, as a hen gathers her chickens under her wings, and you would not!
35 看罷! 你們的房屋必給你們撇下；但是，我告訴你們：你們斷不能再看見我，直到你們說：因主名而來的，當受讚頌的時刻來到。」
"Behold! Your house is left to you, desolate! I tell you that you shall never see me again until you say, Blessed is he that comes in the name of the Lord,"
