耶利米書 43

1 耶肋米亞向全體人民說完上主他們的天主的一切話，即上主他們的天主派遣他來向他們轉告的這一切話以後，

And it came to pass, when Jeremiah had made an end of speaking to all the people all the words of Jehovah their God, for which Jehovah their God had sent him to them, even all these words,

2 瑪阿色雅的兒子阿匝黎雅和卡勒亞的兒子約哈南，以及一切傲慢反叛的人，就肋米亞說：「你說謊；上主我們的天主並沒有派你說：你們不要去寄居埃及；

then spake Azariah, the son of Hoshaiah, and Johanan, the son of Kareah, and all the proud men, saying to Jeremiah, “Thou speakest falsely; Jehovah our God hath not sent thee to say, Go not into Egypt to sojourn there;

3 只是乃黎雅的兒子巴路克挑唆你反對我們，好將我交在加色丁人手中，或殺或擄到巴比倫去。」

but Baruch, the son of Neriah, setteth thee on against us, to deliver us into the hand of the Chaldaeans, that they may put us to death, and carry us away captive to Babylon.”

4 卡勒亞的兒子約哈南和眾部隊首領以及全體人民，沒有聽從上主的勸告，住在猶大地內。

So Johanan, the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces, and all the people, obeyed not the voice of Jehovah, to remain in the land of Judah.

5 卡勒亞的兒子約哈南和眾部隊首領，反而率領全體猶大遣民，即那些四到各民族間，又回來住在猶大境內的人：

But Johanan, the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces, took all the remnant of Judah, who were returned from all the nations whither they had been driven to dwell in the land of Judah,

6 男子和婦女，幼童和王家閨秀，以及衛隊長乃步匝辣當給沙番的孫子，阿希甘的兒子留下的人，連同先知耶肋米亞和乃黎雅的兒子巴路克，

the men, and the women, and the children, and the king's daughters, and every person whom Nebuzaradan, the captain of the guard, had left with Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, and Jeremiah the prophet, and Baruch, the son of Neriah;

7 到埃及地去了；沒有聽從上主的勸告，而來到塔黑培乃斯。

and they went into the land of Egypt; for they obeyed not the voice of Jehovah; and they came to Tahpanhes.

8 在塔黑培乃斯上主有話傳給耶肋米亞說：「

Then came the word of Jehovah to Jeremiah in Tahpanhes, saying:

9 你用手拿一些大石頭，當著猶大人眼前，藏在塔黑培乃斯法郎王宮前石鋪地道下面，

Take in thy hand great stones, and hide them in the clay in the brick-kiln which is at the entrance of the house of Pharaoh in Tahpanhes, in the sight of the men of Judah,

10 然後對他們說：萬軍的上主，以色列的天主這樣說：看，我必派人去領我的僕人巴比倫王拿步高來，在你藏的這些石頭上安置他的寶座，張設他的華蓋。

and say to them: Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I will send, and take Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, my servant, and I will set his throne upon these stones which I have hidden, and he shall spread his royal canopy over them.

11 他必來攻打埃及地，叫那該死的死，該擄的擄，該殺的殺；

And he shall come and smite the land of Egypt, and deliver those that are for death to death, and those that are for captivity to captivity, and those that are for the sword to the sword.

12 必來放火焚燒埃及的神廟，燒毀或擄走廟內的神像；必來收取埃及地，如同牧人收取自己的外衣；最後安然離去。

And I will kindle a fire in the houses of the gods of Egypt; and he shall burn them, and carry them away captive; and he shall wrap himself in the land of Egypt, as a shepherd wrappeth himself in his garment, and he shall go forth from thence in peace.

13 此外他還要粉碎埃及地太陽神廟的石柱，放火焚燒埃及的神廟。」

And he shall break in pieces the images of Bethshemesh in the land of Egypt; and the houses of the gods of Egypt shall he burn with fire.
