耶利米書 32
1 猶大王漆德克雅第十年，拿步高在位第十八年，由上主傳給耶肋米亞先知的話：
The word which came to Jeremiah from Jehovah in the tenth year of Zedekiah, the king of Judah, which was the eighteenth year of Nebuchadnezzar.
2 那時巴比倫王的軍在隊正在圍攻耶路撒冷，耶肋米亞先知被幽禁在猶大王室監獄的庭院裏。
And at that time the army of the king of Babylon was laying siege to Jerusalem, and Jeremiah the prophet was shut up in the court of the prison, which was in the house of the king of Judah.
3 猶大王漆德克雅幽禁了先知，對他說：「你為什麼預言說：上主這樣說：看，我必將這城交在巴比倫王手中，他要佔領這座城；
For Zedekiah, the king of Judah, had shut him up, saying, Wherefore dost thou prophesy, and say, “Thus saith Jehovah: Behold, I am about to give this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall take it;
4 猶大王漆德克雅必逃不出加色丁人的手，因為他必被交在巴比倫王的手中，與他面對面相談，眼對眼相視；
and Zedekiah, the king of Judah, shall not escape out of the hand of the Chaldaeans, but shall surely be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall speak with him mouth to mouth, and his eyes shall behold his eyes;
5 他必帶漆德克雅到巴比倫去，住在那裏，我再來看顧他──上主的斷語──你們若抵擋加色丁人，決不會成功﹖」
and he shall lead Zedekiah to Babylon, and there shall he be until I visit him, saith Jehovah; though ye fight with the Chaldaeans, ye shall not prosper?”
6 耶肋米亞說：「有上主的話傳給我說：
Then said Jeremiah, The word of Jehovah came to me, and said:
7 看，你叔父沙隆的兒子哈納默耳要到你這裏來說：你購買我在阿納托特的那塊田吧! 因為你有買回的權利，應把它買回來」。
Behold, Hanameel, the son of Shallum, thine uncle, will come to thee, and say, Buy thee my field which is in Anathoth, for thine is the redemption-right to buy it.
8 我叔父的兒子哈納默耳，正如上主所說，到監獄庭院裏來找我，對我說：「請你購買我在本雅明地內阿納托特木那塊田吧! 因為你有繼承權，和有權買回你為你自己買下吧! 」於是我知道，這是上主的話。
And so Hanameel, the son of my uncle, came to me in the court of the prison according to the word of Jehovah, and said to me: Buy, I pray thee, my field, which is in Anathoth, for thine is the right of inheritance and redemption; buy it for thyself! Then I knew that this was the word of Jehovah.
9 便買了我叔父的兒子哈納默刀在阿納托特的那塊地，秤給他十七「協刻耳」銀子，
I bought, therefore, the field of Hanameel, my uncle's son, in Anathoth, and I paid him the money, seventeen shekels of silver.
10 寫了契約，封上，請人作證，在天秤上秤了銀子；
And I wrote a deed, and sealed it, and took witnesses thereto, and weighed the silver in the balances.
11 然後按照法定條例，拿著加封和未加封的購買契約，
And I took the purchase-deed, that which was sealed according to the law and the statutes, and that which was open,
12 當著我叔父的兒子哈納默耳，和在購買契約上簽名的見證人，以及監獄庭院裏在座的眾猶大人眼前，將這購買的契約交給了乃黎雅的兒子，瑪赫色雅的孫子巴路克，
and I gave the purchase-deed to Baruch, the son of Neriah, the son of Maaseiah, in the presence of Hanameel, my uncle's son, and in the presence of the witnesses, who subscribed their names to the purchase-deed, and in the presence of all the Jews who sat in the court of the prison.
13 並當著左營眼前吩咐巴路克說：
And I charged Baruch in their presence, saying,
14 「萬軍的上主，以色列的天主這將這些加封和未加封的文件，購買的契約拿去，放在一瓦器內，長久保存，
Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: Take these writings, this sealed purchase-deed, and this open deed, and put them into an earthen vessel, that they may endure a great length of time.
15 因為萬軍的上主以色列的天主這樣說：在這地方，人還要購買房屋、莊田和葡萄園」。
For thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: Yet again shall houses and fields and vineyards be bought in this land.
16 我將購買的契約交給乃黎雅的兒子巴路克以後，便祈求上主說：
And when I had delivered the purchase-deed to Baruch, the son of Neriah, I prayed to Jehovah, saying,
17 「啊! 我主上主! 看，你以你的大能和伸展的手臂創造了天地；為你是沒有困難的事。
Ah, Lord, Jehovah! Behold, thou hast made the heavens and the earth by thy great power and thy stretched-out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee.
18 你對千萬人施行仁慈，但也血後世的子孫本人，追討他們祖先的罪債；你們是偉大有力的天主，「萬軍的天主」是你的名號。
Thou showest kindness to a thousand generations, and recompensest the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of the children who come after them. The great, the mighty God, Jehovah of hosts is his name,
19 你有偉大的計謀，行大事的能力；雙目注視人類子孫所有的行徑，依照各人的行徑和行事的結果，給予酬報。
great in counsel and mighty in work; for thine eyes are open upon all the ways of the sons of men, to give every one according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings;
20 你直到今日在埃及地，在以色列和人世間，施行奇蹟和異事，使你自己成名，有如今日；
who hast displayed signs and wonders in the land of Egypt even to this day, and in Israel, and among other men, and hast made thee a name, as at this day;
21 你以靈蹟奇事，有力的手腕和伸展的臂膊，巨大恐嚇，從埃及地出了你的人民以色列，
and hast brought forth thy people Israel out of the land of Egypt with signs, and with wonders, and with a strong hand, and with a stretched-out arm, and with great terror,
22 給他們的祖先起誓，要給他們的這塊流奶流蜜的土地。
and hast given them this land, which thou didst swear to their fathers to give them, a land flowing with milk and honey;
23 他們來了，佔領了這地，郤沒有聽從你的聲音，沒有履行你的法律，沒有做你命他們應做的一切事，為此你給他們招來了這一切災禍。
and they have come in and possessed it; but they have not obeyed thy voice, nor walked according to thy law. They have done nothing of all which thou commandedst them to do. Therefore hast thou caused all this evil to come upon them.
24 看，圍攻的工程已逼近城市，劫勢必攻陷；這個已面臨兵刀飢荒和瘟疫的城市，必落在進攻的加色丁人手中；你所說的，現已實現，你已目睹；
Behold, the mounds of the enemy have already come up against the city to take it; and the city is given into the hand of the Chaldaeans, who fight against it by means of the sword, and of the famine, and of the pestilence; and what thou hast spoken is come to pass, and, behold, thou seest it.
25 然而，我主上主! 正當這城交在加色丁人手中之際，你卻對我說：你要請人作證，用銀子購買田地」。
And yet hast thou said to me, O Lord Jehovah, “Buy thee the field for money, and take witnesses thereto!” when the city is given into the hand of the Chaldaeans.
26 於是有上主的話通過給我說：
Then came the word of Jehovah to Jeremiah, saying:
27 「看，我是上主，是一切有血肉者的天主：難道我有做不到的事嗎﹖
Behold, I, Jehovah, am the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for me?
28 為此，上主這樣說：看，我將這城交在加色丁人和巴比倫拿步高的手中，他必佔領這座城。
Therefore thus saith Jehovah: Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the Chaldaeans, and into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, and he shall take it.
29 進攻這城的加色丁人要來放火焚燒，把這座城和在屋頂上給巴耳焚香，向外神行奠禮，惹我動怒的房屋，燒得乾乾淨淨，
And the Chaldaeans who fight against this city shall come and set this city on fire, and burn it, with the houses upon whose roofs they have offered incense to Baal, and poured out incense to other gods, to provoke me to anger.
30 因為以色列和猶大子民自幼在我眼前只知作惡；實在，以色列子民雙手所行的，無不使我動怒──上主的斷語──
For the children of Israel and the children of Judah have done nothing but evil before me from their youth; yea, the children of Israel have but provoked me to anger with the work of their hands, saith Jehovah.
31 實在，這座城，自從他們開始建築那一天，直到今日，常惹我動怒生氣，致使我不得不從我面前將她消滅。
For this city hath been the object of my anger and my fury, from the day when they built it even to this day; that I might remove it from before my face,
32 這全是出於以色列和猶大子民，即他們、他們的君王、朝臣、司祭、先知，以及猶大人和耶路撒冷和居民，所行的一切使我動怒的惡事。
because of all the wickedness of the children of Israel, and of the children of Judah, which they have committed to provoke me to anger, they, their kings, their princes, their priests, and their prophets, and the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
33 他們對我轉過背來，卻不對我轉過臉來；我雖不斷懇切施教，他們仍不願聽從，接受勸告；
For they have turned to me the back, and not the face; though I have taught them, rising up early and teaching them, yet have they not hearkened to receive instruction.
34 反將可惡之物安置在歸我名下的殿裏，使我殿宇受到了玷污；
And they have set their abominations in the house which is called by my name, to defile it.
35 又在本希農山谷給巴耳建造了一些祭壇，給摩肋客人火祭自己的子女：這是我從來沒有吩咐，也從來沒有想到過的事；他們竟做出這些可惡的事，來引誘猶大犯罪。
And they have built the high places of Baal, which are in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire to Moloch, which I commanded them not, neither came it into my mind, that they should practise their abomination, to cause Judah to sin.
36 現在，上主以色列的天主，對這座城你要說因兵戈饑荒瘟疫，而被交在巴比倫王手中的，卻這樣說：
Yet now thus saith Jehovah, the God of Israel concerning this city, of which ye say, “It is delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence.”
37 看，我必從我生氣憤恨發怒時逐他們所到的各地，召集他們，領他們回到這地方來，安然居住，
Behold, I will gather them out of all the countries whither I have driven them in my anger and my fury and my great wrath, and I will bring them back to this place, and I will cause them to dwell securely,
38 作我的，我作他們的天主，
and they shall be my people, and I will be their God.
39 且使他們一心一德，終生敬畏我，造福自己和自己後代的子孫；
And I will give them one heart, and one way, to fear me continually, that it may be well with them, and with their children after them.
40 與他們訂立一永久的盟約，再不離棄他們，為他們謀幸福，將敬長我之情賦於他們心內，使他們不再離開；
And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, nor cease to do them good; for I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me.
41 我樂意好待他們，專心致志將他們安頓在這城裏。
Yea, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will plant them in this land in truth, with my whole heart, and with my whole soul.
42 因為上主這樣說：我怎樣給這人民招來了這一切大災禍，也要同樣給他們招來我預許的一切幸福。
For thus saith Jehovah: As I have brought upon this people all this great evil, so will I bring upon them all the good which I have promised them.
43 在這個你們說成已成荒野，已人獸絕跡，已交在加色丁人手中的地域裏，還有田地的交易；
And fields shall yet be bought in this land, of which ye say, “It is desolate, without man or beast; it is given into the hand of the Chaldaeans.”
44 在本雅明地，在耶路撒冷城郊，在猶大、山地、平原和南部的城裏，人們還要花錢買田，寫契蓋章，請人作證，因為我要轉變他們的命運──上主的斷語」。
Fields shall men buy for money, and subscribe deeds, and seal them, and take witnesses, in the land of Benjamin, and in the places about Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah, and in the cities of the hill-country, and in the cities of the valley, and in the cities of the south; for I will bring them back from their captivity, saith Jehovah.
