耶利米書 28
1 同年，即猶大王漆德克雅即位之初第四年五月，基貝紅人阿組爾的兒子哈納尼雅先知，在上主殿裏當著司祭和全體人民對我說：「
This is what happened in the beginning of the reign of King Zedekiah of Judah, in the fifth month of that same year, the fourth year. The prophet Hananiah, son of Azzur, who was from Gibeon, told me in the Lord's Temple in front of the priests and all the people:
2 萬軍的上主，以色列的天主這樣說：我已折斷了巴比倫王的軛。
“This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: I have broken the yoke of the king of Babylon.
3 還有兩年，我就要取回巴比倫王拿步高，由這地取去，帶往巴比倫的一切上主殿的器皿，再放在這地方，
Before two years have passed I'm going to bring back to Jerusalem all the Temple objects that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon removed and took to Babylon.
4 且領回猶大王約雅金的兒子耶苛尼雅及一切流徙至巴比倫的猶大俘虜，再來到這地方──上主的斷語──因為我要折斷巴比倫王的軛。」
I will also bring back to Jerusalem Jehoiachin, son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, together with all the exiles from Judah who were taken to Babylon, declares the Lord, because I'm going to break the yoke of the king of Babylon.”
5 耶肋米亞先知立當著站在上主殿裏的司祭和全體人民，答覆了先知哈納尼雅。
Then the prophet Jeremiah responded to the prophet Hananiah in front of the priests and all the people who were standing in the Lord's Temple.
6 耶肋米亞先知說：「盼望是這樣! 惟願上主這樣做! 惟願上主實踐你預言的話，使上主殿宇的器皿和一切俘虜，從巴比倫再回到這地方來!
“Amen!” said Jeremiah. “I wish the Lord would do just that! I wish the Lord would fulfill your prophetic words and bring back Temple objects and all the exiles back to Jerusalem from Babylon.
7 不過請聽我當面願對你和全體人民要說的這一句話：
But even so, pay attention to this message I'm going to tell you and everyone here.
8 自古以來，在我和你以前的先知，對多少地區和強盛的王國，曾預言過戰爭，饑饉和瘟疫。
The prophets of long ago who came before you and me prophesied war, disaster, and disease against many countries and great kingdoms.
9 至於預言和平的先知，只在這先知的話實現以後，纔可認出這先知確是上主派遣的。
When it comes to a prophet who prophesies peace, see if their prophecies come true. Only that will prove they are really sent by the Lord.”
10 哈納尼雅先知便從耶肋米亞先知頸上取下木軛，折斷了，
Then the prophet Hananiah removed the yoke from the prophet Jeremiah's neck and broke it.
11 然後對全體人民說：「上主這樣說：還有兩年，我要這樣從一切民族的頸上，折斷巴比倫王拿步高的軛。」於是耶肋米亞先知只得自行離去。
Hananiah announced in front of everyone, “This is what the Lord says: Just like this, before two years have passed I will break the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon from the neck of all the nations.” Jeremiah the prophet left.
12 哈納尼雅先知從耶肋米亞先知頸上取下木軛折斷以後，即有上主的話傳給耶肋米亞說：「
However, right after Hananiah the prophet had broken the yoke from his neck, a message of the Lord came to Jeremiah:
13 你去告訴哈納尼雅說：上主這樣說：；你折斷了木軛，但我必做鐵軛來代替。
“Go and tell Hananiah that this is what the Lord says: You may have broken a wooden yoke of wood, but you have replaced it with an iron yoke.
14 因為萬軍的上主，以色列的天主這樣說：我要將鐵軛放在這一切民族的頸上，使他們服事拿步高巴比倫王；他們該服事他，因為連田野的走獸我也交給了他。」
This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: I have tied iron yokes on the necks of all these nations to force them to serve Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and they will serve him. I have even given him control over the wild animals.”
15 耶肋米亞先知於是對哈納尼雅先知說：「哈納尼雅! 請聽，上主並沒有派遣你，你竟使這人民相信謊言。
Then the prophet Jeremiah said to the prophet Hananiah, “Listen to this, Hananiah! The Lord didn't send you, but you have convinced these people to believe in a lie.
16 為此，上主這樣說：看，我要把你趕出地面；今年你必要死，因為你說了背叛上主的話。」
So this is what the Lord says: I'm going to get rid of you from the earth. You will die this year because you have promoted rebellion against the Lord.”
17 哈納尼雅先知就死在那年七月。
The prophet Hananiah died in the seventh month of that very year.
