耶利米書 25
1 猶大王約史雅的兒子約雅金執政第四年， 巴比倫王拿步高元年，有關於全猶大人民的話，傳給耶肋米亞；
The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah (the same was the first year of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon),
2 耶肋米亞先知便將這話轉告給全猶大人民，和耶路撒冷所有的居民說：「
which Jeremiah the prophet spoke to all the people of Judah, and to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying:
3 自猶大王阿孟的兒子約史雅執政第十三魁，直到今日，已經二十三年，凡上主傳給我的話，我都急速告訴了你們，你們卻不聽。
"From the thirteenth year of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah, even to this day, these twenty-three years, the word of the LORD has come to me, and I have spoken to you, rising up early and speaking; but you have not listened.
4 上主不斷給你們派來他所有的僕人──先知們，你們總是不聽，不願傾耳諦聽。
The LORD has sent to you all his servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them (but you have not listened, nor inclined your ear to hear)
5 他們說：你們應各自離棄自己的邪道，和自己的邪惡的行為，好能住在上主從永遠到永遠賜給了你們和你們祖先的地域裏；
saying, 'Return now everyone from his evil way, and from the evil of your doings, and dwell in the land that the LORD has given to you and to your fathers, from of old and even forevermore;
6 不要追隨其他的神祇，事奉朝拜，以你們手做的東西來激怒我，你們就不致遭遇災禍。
and do not go after other gods to serve them or worship them, and do not provoke me to anger with the work of your hands; and I will do you no harm.
7 你們沒有聽從我──上主的斷語──竟以你們手做的東西來激怒我，自招禍患。
Yet you have not listened to me,' says the LORD; 'that you may provoke me to anger with the work of your hands to your own hurt.'
8 為此，萬軍的上主這樣說：由於你們不聽我的話，
Therefore thus says the LORD of hosts: 'Because you have not heard my words,
9 看，我必遣人召來北方的一切種族──上主的斷語──和我的僕人巴比倫王拿步高來進攻這地方，和這地方的居民，以及四周所有的民族；我要徹底消滅，任其荒涼，永遠成為笑柄和羞辱的對象。
look, I will send and take all the families of the north,' says the LORD, 'and I will send to Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will bring them against this land, and against its inhabitants, and against all these nations around; and I will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, and a hissing, and perpetual desolations.
10 此外，我還要息滅他們中歡樂喜慶的歌聲，新郎和新娘的歡笑聲，磨聲和燈光。
Moreover I will take from them the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones, and the light of the lamp.
11 這地方要全變為淒涼野，這些民族要七十年服從巴比倫王。
This whole land shall be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years.
12 但是，一滿了七十年，我必要懲罰巴比倫王和這民族的罪惡──上主的斷語──以及加色丁人的國土，使它永遠成為荒野。
It shall happen, when seventy years are accomplished, that I will punish the king of Babylon, and that nation, says the LORD, for their iniquity, and the land of the Chaldeans; and I will make it desolate forever.
13 對這國土，我要執行我論它所說，在這書上所記載先知耶肋米亞論及萬民所預言的一切話，
I will bring on that land all my words which I have pronounced against it, even all that is written in this scroll, which Jeremiah has prophesied against all the nations.
14 因為強盛的民族和有力的君王，要使他們成為自己的奴隸；我必依照他的作為和他們雙手所行的事，報復他們。
For many nations and great kings shall make bondservants of them, even of them; and I will recompense them according to their deeds, and according to the work of their hands.'"
15 上主，以色列的天主這樣對我說：「你從我手中接過這杯忿怒酒去，讓我派你所到的各民族喝。
For thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, to me: "Take this cup of the wine of wrath at my hand, and cause all the nations, to whom I send you, to drink it.
16 他們必要喝，必要在我給他們派來的刀劍前，蹣跚發狂。」
They shall drink, and reel back and forth, and be mad, because of the sword that I will send among them."
17 我便從上主手中接過杯來，給了上主派我所到的各民族喝：使她們荒蕪淒涼，
Then took I the cup at the LORD's hand, and made all the nations to drink, to whom the LORD had sent me:
18 受人嘲笑詛咒，像今日一樣；
Jerusalem, and the cities of Judah, and its kings, and its officials, to make them a desolation, an astonishment, a hissing, and a curse, as it is this day;
19 給埃及王法郎和他們的臣僕王侯並全體人民；
Pharaoh king of Egypt, and his servants, and his officials, and all his people;
20 給所有的雜族，胡茲地和培肋舍特地的眾君王；給阿市刻隆、迦薩、厄刻龍和阿市多得的遺民；
and all the mixed people, and all the kings of the land of the Uz, and all the kings of the Philistines, and Ashkelon, and Gaza, and Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod;
21 給厄東、摩阿布和阿孟子民；
Edom, and Moab, and the people of Ammon;
22 給提洛、漆冬和海外島嶼的眾君王；
and all the kings of Tyre, and all the kings of Sidon, and the kings of the isle which is beyond the sea;
23 給德丹、特瑪、步次和凡剃除鬢髮的人；
Dedan, and Tema, and Buz, and all who have the corners of their beard cut off;
24 給阿剌伯和在沙漠居住的雜族的眾君王；
and all the kings of Arabia, [and all the kings of the mixed people] who dwell in the wilderness;
25 給齊默黎、厄藍和瑪待的眾君王；
and all the kings of Zimri, and all the kings of Elam, and all the kings of the Medes;
26 給北方彼此相離或遠或近的眾君王，以及地面上所有的王國喝；最後喝的，是舍沙客的君王。
and all the kings of the north, far and near, one with another; and all the kingdoms of the world, which are on the surface of the earth: and the king of Sheshach shall drink after them.
27 你應對他們說：「萬軍的上主，以色列的天主這樣說：你們要喝，喝醉，嘔吐，倒在我給你們派來的刀劍前，再不起來。
"You shall tell them, 'Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: "Drink, and be drunk, vomit, fall, and rise no more, because of the sword which I will send among you."'
28 假使他們不肯從你手中取過杯去喝，你就對他們說：萬軍的上主這樣說：你必須喝。
It shall be, if they refuse to take the cup at your hand to drink, then you shall tell them, 'Thus says the LORD of hosts: "You shall surely drink.
29 因為，看，我開始降罰歸我名下的城市，而你們竟想全然免罰嗎﹖你們決不能免罰，因為我要給地上所有的居民招來刀劍──萬軍上主的斷語。
For, look, I begin to work evil at the city which is called by my name; and should you be utterly unpunished? You shall not be unpunished; for I will call for a sword on all the inhabitants of the earth,"' says the LORD of hosts.
30 你應給他們預言這一切話，對他們說：上主從高處作獅吼，從他的聖所發出他的聲音，對自己的牧場厲聲怒號，對地上所有的居民，像榨葡萄的人一樣喊叫。
Therefore prophesy you against them all these words, and tell them, 'The LORD will roar from on high, and utter his voice from his holy habitation; he will mightily roar against his fold; he will give a shout, as those who tread grapes, against all the inhabitants of the earth.
31 一陣喧嘩嘈雜，直至地極，因為上主與萬民有了爭訟，與一切有血肉的人，進行審判，將惡人交給刀劍──上主的斷語──
A noise shall come even to the remotest parts of the earth; for the LORD brings charges against the nations; he will enter into judgment with all flesh: as for the wicked, he will give them to the sword,' says the LORD.
32 萬軍的上主這樣說：看，各國相繼發生災禍，由地極捲來強烈的風暴。
'Thus says the LORD of hosts, 'Look, evil shall go forth from nation to nation, and a great storm shall be raised up from the uttermost parts of the earth.'
33 到了那一天，從地極到地極，遍是上主戮的人，沒有人哀悼、收殮、埋葬，有如地面上的糞土。
The slain of the LORD shall be on that day from all areas of the earth. They shall not be lamented, neither gathered, nor buried; they shall be dung on the surface of the ground.
34 為人牧者，你們應哭泣哀號! 為羊群領導者，你們應在灰塵中輾轉! 因為們的日期已滿，你們要被宰割，像精選的公羊。
Wail, you shepherds, and cry; and wallow in dust, you principal of the flock; for the days of your slaughter and of your dispersions are fully come, and you shall fall like a goodly vessel.
35 為人牧者，無路可逃；為羊群領導者，無法脫身。
The shepherds shall have no way to flee, nor the principal of the flock to escape.
36 聽啊! 為人牧者在哀號，為羊群領導者在哭泣，因為上主摧毀了他們的牧場。
A voice of the cry of the shepherds, and the wailing of the principal of the flock. For the LORD lays waste their pasture.
37 寧靜的草場，因上主的怒燄，已成一片荒涼。
The peaceable folds are brought to silence because of the fierce anger of the LORD.
38 獅子離棄了自己的巢穴，因為他們的土地，由於刀劍的無情和上主的盛怒，已成了荒野。
He has left his covert, as the lion; for their land has become an astonishment, because of the sword of the oppressor, and because of his fierce anger."
