以賽亞書 31

1 禍哉，那些南下埃及求救，依靠戰馬，信賴他們戰車眾多，依恃他們鐵騎驍勇，而不仰望以色列的聖者，也不求問上主的人！

Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not to the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the LORD!

2 但是上主仍然能降下災禍，他決不收回自己的言語；他必要起來攻擊惡人的家，攻擊助人作惡的人。

Yet he also is wise, and will bring evil, and will not call back his words: but will arise against the house of the evildoers, and against the help of them that work iniquity.

3 埃及人是人，並不是神；他們的戰馬是血肉，並不是靈；只要上主一伸手，施助的人必將仆倒，受助的人必要顛覆：二者同歸於盡。

Now the Egyptians are men, and not God; and their horses flesh, and not spirit. When the LORD shall stretch out his hand, both he that helps shall fall, and he that is helped shall fall down, and they all shall fail together.

4 因為上主曾這樣對我說：「猶如壯獅或幼獅為了獵物而怒吼，即使召集許多牧人攻擊牠，牠並不因他們的叫囂而畏懼，也不因他們的喧嚷而驚慌；同樣，萬軍的上主必要降下，為熙雍和她的丘嶺作戰。

For thus has the LORD spoken to me, Like as the lion and the young lion roaring on his prey, when a multitude of shepherds is called forth against him, he will not be afraid of their voice, nor abase himself for the noise of them: so shall the LORD of hosts come down to fight for mount Zion, and for the hill thereof.

5 有如飛鳥展翼護雛，萬軍的上主也要這樣扞衛耶路撒冷，加以保護、拯救、憐恤、保存。」

As birds flying, so will the LORD of hosts defend Jerusalem; defending also he will deliver it; and passing over he will preserve it.

6 以色列子民啊！再歸到你們所遠離的上主那裏罷！

Turn you to him from whom the children of Israel have deeply revolted.

7 因為到那一天，人人必要拋棄自己的銀偶像和金偶像，即你們以污穢的手所製造的。

For in that day every man shall cast away his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which your own hands have made to you for a sin.

8 亞述必將傾覆於超人的刀下，超人的刀必將吞噬她；她將由刀劍面前逃走，她的壯丁必要充作苦役。

Then shall the Assyrian fall with the sword, not of a mighty man; and the sword, not of a mean man, shall devour him: but he shall flee from the sword, and his young men shall be discomfited.

9 她的磐石由於震驚必要逃避，她的王侯，由於恐慌必將放棄軍旗：這是在熙雍有火，在耶路撒冷有爐的上主的斷語。

And he shall pass over to his strong hold for fear, and his princes shall be afraid of the ensign, says the LORD, whose fire is in Zion, and his furnace in Jerusalem.
