阿摩司書 7
1 [神視一：蝗災]吾主上主叫我看見這事：割完君王的青草，當晚草初生時，蝗蟲出現了。
Thus has the Lord GOD showed to me; and, behold, he formed grasshoppers in the beginning of the shooting up of the latter growth; and, see, it was the latter growth after the king’s mowings.
2 當蝗蟲要吃光地上的青草時，我就說：「吾主上主，求你饒恕吧! 雅各伯還怎能存在﹖他已這樣弱小! 」
And it came to pass, that when they had made an end of eating the grass of the land, then I said, O Lord GOD, forgive, I beseech you: by whom shall Jacob arise? for he is small.
3 上主對這事後悔了。上主說：「這事不會發生。」[神視二：旱災]
The LORD repented for this: It shall not be, says the LORD.
4 吾主上主叫我看見這事：看，吾主上主召來懲罰的火，燒毀了廣大的深淵，又燒毀了上主的基業。
Thus has the Lord GOD showed to me: and, behold, the Lord GOD called to contend by fire, and it devoured the great deep, and did eat up a part.
5 我就說：「吾主上主! 求你罷休! 雅各伯還怎能存在﹖他已這樣弱小! 」
Then said I, O Lord GOD, cease, I beseech you: by whom shall Jacob arise? for he is small.
6 上主對這事後悔了。吾主上主說：「這事也不會發生。」[神視三：鉛垂線]
The LORD repented for this: This also shall not be, says the Lord GOD.
7 吾主上主叫我看見這事：看，有一個人立在牆上，手中拿著一條鉛垂線。
Thus he showed me: and, behold, the LORD stood on a wall made by a plumb line, with a plumb line in his hand.
8 上主對我說：「亞毛斯，你看見了什麼﹖」我答說：「一條鉛垂線。」吾主說：「看，我將鉛垂線安置在我民族以色列當中，我不再放過她。
And the LORD said to me, Amos, what see you? And I said, A plumb line. Then said the LORD, Behold, I will set a plumb line in the middle of my people Israel: I will not again pass by them any more:
9 依撒格的高丘必要荒蕪，以色列的聖所必要廢棄；我必起來攻擊雅洛貝罕家。」
And the high places of Isaac shall be desolate, and the sanctuaries of Israel shall be laid waste; and I will rise against the house of Jeroboam with the sword.
10 那時，貝特耳司祭阿瑪責雅派人向以色列王雅洛貝罕說：「亞毛斯在以色列家中圖謀背叛你，國家再不能容受他的一切言論，
Then Amaziah the priest of Bethel sent to Jeroboam king of Israel, saying, Amos has conspired against you in the middle of the house of Israel: the land is not able to bear all his words.
11 因為亞毛斯這樣說：雅洛貝罕必死於刀下，以色列必被據去充軍，遠離本土。」
For thus Amos says, Jeroboam shall die by the sword, and Israel shall surely be led away captive out of their own land.
12 事後，阿瑪責雅又向亞毛斯說：「先見者，你走吧! 趕快到猶大國去，在那裏餬口，在那裏講預言。
Also Amaziah said to Amos, O you seer, go, flee you away into the land of Judah, and there eat bread, and prophesy there:
13 在貝特耳不可講預言，因為這裏是君王的殿宇。」
But prophesy not again any more at Bethel: for it is the king’s chapel, and it is the king’s court.
14 亞毛斯回答阿瑪責雅說：「我原不是先知，也不是先知的弟子，只是一個放羊兼修剪野無花果的人。
Then answered Amos, and said to Amaziah, I was no prophet, neither was I a prophet’s son; but I was an herdsman, and a gatherer of sycomore fruit:
15 但是，上主正在我趕羊時提了我來。上主對我說：你去向我的百姓以色列講預言吧!
And the LORD took me as I followed the flock, and the LORD said to me, Go, prophesy to my people Israel.
16 現在你且聽上主說什麼。你說：不要講預言攻擊以色列，不要發言反對依撒格家!
Now therefore hear you the word of the LORD: You say, Prophesy not against Israel, and drop not your word against the house of Isaac.
17 為此，上主這樣說：你的妻子必在城中賣淫，你的子女必喪生刀下，你的田地必被人以繩墨瓜分，你m在不潔之地，以色列必被據去充軍，遠離本土。」
Therefore thus says the LORD; Your wife shall be an harlot in the city, and your sons and your daughters shall fall by the sword, and your land shall be divided by line; and you shall die in a polluted land: and Israel shall surely go into captivity forth of his land.
