撒母耳記上 27
1 達味心裏想：「終有一天我會落在撒烏耳手中，倒不如逃到培肋舍特 中去，使撒烏耳絕望，再不在全以色列境內找我，我方能擺脫他的毒手」。
And David said in his heart, I shall now perish one day by the hand of Saul: there is nothing better for me than that I should speedily escape into the land of the Philistines; and Saul will despair of me to seek me any more within all the limits of Israel, and I shall escape out of his hand.
2 達味遂帶了他那六百人，動身往加特王瑪敖客的兒子阿基士那裏去。
And David arose and passed over, he and the six hundred men that were with him, to Achish, the son of Maoch, king of Gath.
3 達味和他的兩個妻子：依次勒耳人阿希諾罕與曾作加爾默耳人納巴耳妻子的阿彼蓋耳，他的部隊，以及他們的眷屬，同阿基士一起住在加特。
And David abode with Achish at Gath, he and his men, every man with his household; David with his two wives, Ahinoam the Jizreelitess, and Abigail the Carmelitess, Nabal's wife.
4 有人告訴撒烏耳，達味逃到加特去了，撒烏耳就再不去搜他。
And it was told Saul that David had fled to Gath; and he sought no more for him.
5 達味向阿基士說：「假使我在你眼中獲得寵幸，請在鄉間城鎮裏給 戈一塊地方，叫我住在；為什麼你的僕人要同你一起住在京城內呢﹖」
And David said to Achish, If now I have found favour in thine eyes, let them give me a place in some country-town, that I may abide there; for why should thy servant abide in the royal city with thee?
6 那一天，阿基士就將漆刻拉格賜他；因此漆刻拉格直到今天還屬猶大王。
And Achish gave him Ziklag that day; therefore Ziklag belongs to the kings of Judah to this day.
7 達味住在培肋舍特人地方，共計一年零四個月。
And the time that David abode in the country of the Philistines was a year and four months.
8 達味帶著他的人上去，襲擊了革叔爾人、基爾齊人和阿瑪肋克人。這些民族所住的地方，是從特郎經叔爾直到埃及地。
And David and his men went up and made a raid upon the Geshurites, and the Gerzites, and the Amalekites: for those were of old the inhabitants of the land, as thou goest to Shur, and as far as the land of Egypt.
9 當達味攻擊那地方時，沒有讓那裏的男女生存，只把牛、羊、驢、駱馲和衣服搶來，帶回交給阿基士王。
And David smote the land, and left neither man nor woman alive, and took away the sheep, and the oxen, and the asses, and the camels, and the apparel, and returned, and came to Achish.
10 每當阿基士間說：「今天你們襲擊了什麼地方﹖」時，達味總是答說：「襲擊了猶大的南方，刻尼人的南方」。
So Achish said, Have ye not made a raid to-day? And David said, Against the south of Judah, and against the south of the Jerahmeelites, and against the south of the Kenites.
11 達味沒有讓那裏的男女活著帶回加特來，因為達味想：「怕他們對我們不利的宣傳說：達味這樣對待了我們」。這是他住在培肋舍特地方整個時期內的作風。
And David left neither man nor woman alive, to bring [them] to Gath, for he said, Lest they should tell of us, saying, So did David. And such was his custom as long as he abode in the country of the Philistines.
12 阿基士相信了達味，心中想：「他在自己民族以色列人中，已留下臭名，他要永久作我的奴隸了」。
And Achish trusted David, saying, He has made himself utterly odious among his people Israel; and he shall be my servant for ever.
