撒母耳記上 23
1 有人告訴達味說：「看，培肋舍特人在攻打刻依拉，搶劫禾場」。
And they told David, saying, Behold, the Philistines fight against Keilah, and they rob the threshing-floors.
2 達味就求問上主說：「我是否該去攻打這些培肋舍特人﹖」上主回答達味說：「去攻打培肋舍特人，解救刻依拉! 」
And David inquired of Jehovah, saying, Shall I go and smite these Philistines? And Jehovah said to David, Go and smite the Philistines, and save Keilah.
3 隨從達味的人對他說：「看，我們在猶大這裏，已惴惴不安；如果到刻依拉去攻打培肋舍特軍隊，更將如何﹖」
But David's men said to him, Behold, we are afraid here in Judah; how much more then if we go to Keilah against the armies of the Philistines?
4 達味又求問了上主，上主回答他說：「動身下到刻依拉去，因為已將培肋舍特人交在你手中了! 」
And David inquired of Jehovah yet again. And Jehovah answered him and said, Arise, go down to Keilah; for I will give the Philistines into thy hand.
5 達味就和跟隨他的人到刻依拉，攻打培肋舍特人，奪得了他們的牲口，打得他們慘敗，營救了刻依拉的居民。
And David and his men went to Keilah, and fought against the Philistines, and brought away their cattle, and smote them with a great slaughter. So David saved the inhabitants of Keilah.
6 那時阿希默肋客的兒子厄貝雅塔爾逃到達味那裏，也下到了刻依拉，手中拿著「厄弗得」
And it came to pass, when Abiathar the son of Ahimelech fled to David to Keilah, he came down with an ephod in his hand.
7 有人報告撒烏耳說：「達味到了刻依拉」。撒烏耳便說：「天主真將他交在我手中了，因為他將自己封鎖在一座有門有閂的城裏」。
And it was told Saul that David had come to Keilah. Then Saul said, God has cast him off into my hand; for he is shut in, by entering into a city that has gates and bars.
8 撒烏耳就調集了人民出征，下到刻依拉，要包圍達味和他的部隊。
And Saul summoned all the people to war, to go down to Keilah, to besiege David and his men.
9 達味一知道撒烏耳要陷害他，就給厄貝雅塔爾說：「拿「厄弗得」來! 」
And when David knew that Saul devised mischief against him, he said to Abiathar the priest, Bring the ephod.
10 然後達味說：「上主，以色列的天主! 你僕人聽說撒烏耳正在籌劃到刻依拉來，為了我的緣故，要毀滅這座城。
Then said David, Jehovah, God of Israel, thy servant hath heard for certain that Saul seeketh to come to Keilah, to destroy the city for my sake.
11 刻依拉居民會將我交在他們手中嗎﹖撒烏耳是否會像你僕人所聽到的下來﹖請上主，以色列的天主，通知你的僕人! 」上主回答說：「他要下來! 」
Will the citizens of Keilah deliver me up into his hand? will Saul come down, as thy servant hath heard? Jehovah, God of Israel, I beseech thee, tell thy servant. And Jehovah said, He will come down.
12 達味又問說：「刻依拉的居民，會把我和隨從我的的人，交在撒烏耳手中嗎﹖」上主答說：「他們會把你們交出」。
And David said, Will the citizens of Keilah deliver up me and my men into the hand of Saul? And Jehovah said, They will deliver [thee] up.
13 達味就動身率領士兵，約有六百人，離開了刻依拉，到處漂流。有人告訴撒烏耳說：「達味從刻依拉逃走了」。撒烏耳遂停止出動。
Then David and his men, about six hundred, arose and departed out of Keilah, and went whithersoever they could go. And it was told Saul that David had escaped from Keilah, and he forbore to go forth.
14 達味住在曠野的深山裏，有時住在齊弗曠野的山中。撒烏耳每日找他，天主沒有將達味交在他手中。
And David abode in the wilderness in strongholds, and abode in the mountain in the wilderness of Ziph. And Saul sought him every day, but God did not give him into his hand.
15 達味很是害怕，因為撒烏耳出來，不斷搜索他，當時達味住在齊弗曠野的曷勒士。
And David saw that Saul had come out to seek his life; and David was in the wilderness of Ziph in a wood.
16 撒烏耳的兒子約納堂動身，到了曷勒士，去見達味，他以天主的名鼓勵達味說：
And Jonathan Saul's son arose, and went to David into the wood, and strengthened his hand in God.
17 「不必害怕! 我父撒烏耳的手決拿不住你! 你必要作以色列王，我要在你以下居第二位，連我父撒烏耳也知道這事」。
And he said to him, Fear not; for the hand of Saul my father will not find thee; and thou shalt be king over Israel, and I shall be next to thee; and that also Saul my father knows.
18 他們二人在上主面前訂了盟約。以後達味仍留在曷勒士，約納堂回了家。
And they two made a covenant before Jehovah; and David abode in the wood, and Jonathan went to his house.
19 有些齊弗人上了基貝亞見撒烏耳，說：「達味不是在我們當中，在曷勒士隱藏著嗎﹖
And the Ziphites came up to Saul to Gibeah, saying, Does not David hide himself with us in strongholds in the wood, on the hill of Hachilah, which is on the south of the waste?
20 大王! 現在你隨意下到我們這裏，我們必將他交在大王手中」。
And now, O king, come down according to all the desire of thy soul to come down; and it will be for us to deliver him up into the king's hand.
21 撒烏耳答說：「望上主祝福你們，因為你們同情了我。
And Saul said, Blessed be ye of Jehovah; for ye have compassion upon me.
22 你們再去查看清楚，看他的腳步急速往哪裏去，因為有人給我說，他非常狡滑。
Go, I pray you, make yet more sure, and know and see his place where his track is, who has seen him there; for it is told me that he deals very subtilly.
23 所以你們去觀察清楚，他藏身的一切地方，確定後，回來見我，我必同一起去，只要他在這地方，我必在猶大各鄉村中搜捕他」。
And see, and ascertain all the lurking-places where he hides himself, and come ye again to me with sure information, that I may go with you; and it shall come to pass, if he be in the land, that I will search him out throughout the thousands of Judah.
24 他們就在撒烏耳以先動身往齊弗去了；達味和他的人那時住在瑪紅曠野，即在曠野南方的荒野原中。
And they arose and went to Ziph before Saul; but David and his men were in the wilderness of Maon, in the plain on the south of the waste.
25 撒烏耳率領士兵去尋找達味。有人將這事告訴了達味，他就下到轟立瑪紅曠野的山崖間；撒烏耳一聽說，便到瑪紅曠野去追趕達味。
And Saul and his men went to seek [him]. And they told David; and he came down from the rock, and abode in the wilderness of Maon. And Saul heard [that], and he pursued after David in the wilderness of Maon.
26 撒烏耳帶領士兵走在山這面，達味帶領他的士兵走在山那邊；達味正在急速逃避撒烏耳時，撒烏耳率領著他的士兵追蹤達味和他的士兵，幾乎要把他們捉住，
And Saul went on this side of the mountain, and David and his men on that side of the mountain; and David made haste to get away from Saul; and Saul and his men sought to surround David and his men to take them.
27 就在這時，有一個使者來見撒烏耳說：「快回去，因為培肋舍特已侵入邊境! 」
But there came a messenger to Saul, saying, Haste thee and come; for the Philistines have made a raid against the land.
28 撒烏耳遂立即收兵，不再追趕達味，而去迎擊培肋舍特人；因此，人給那地方起名叫「隔離岩」。
And Saul returned from pursuing after David, and went against the Philistines; therefore they called that place Sela-hammahlekoth.
29 達味為那裏上去，住在恩革狄的山寨中。
And David went up from thence, and abode in the strongholds of Engedi.
