哥林多前書 1
1 因天主的旨意，蒙召為耶穌基督宗徒的保祿和索斯特及弟兄，
Paul called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother,
2 致書給格林多的天主教會，就是給那些在基督耶穌內受祝聖，與一切在各地呼求我們的主，亦即他們和我們的主尸基督之名，一同蒙召為聖的人。
Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both their's and our's:
3 願恩寵與平安，由我們的父天主和主耶穌基督賜給你們。
Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
4 我時時為你們，對天主在基督耶穌內所賜與你們的恩寵，而感謝我的又主，
I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ;
5 因為藉著祂，你們在一切事上，在一切言論和知識上，都成了富有的；
That in every thing all of you are enriched by him, in all utterance, (logos) and in all knowledge;
6 並且我為基督所作的證言，在你們中是這樣的堅定，
Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you:
7 以致你們已不缺少任何恩寵，只待我們的主耶穌基督的出現；
So that all of you come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ:
8 天主必要堅定你們到底，使你們在我們的主耶穌基督的日子上，無瑕可指。
Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that all of you may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9 天主是忠信的，你們原是由祂所召，為同祂的聖子，我們的主耶穌基督，合而為一。
God is faithful, by whom all of you were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
10 弟兄們，我因我們的主耶穌基督之名，求你們眾人言談一致，在你們中間不要有分裂，但要同心合意，全然相合。
Now I plead to you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that all of you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
11 因為，我的弟兄們，我由黑羅厄的家人聽說你們中發生了紛爭。
For it has been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by them which are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you.
12 我的意思是說，你們各自分稱：我是屬保祿的，我是屬阿頗羅的，我是屬刻法的，我是屬基督的。
Now this I say, that every one of you says, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ.
13 基督被分裂了嗎？難道保祿為你們被釘死在十字架上嗎？或者你們受洗是屬於保祿名下嗎？
Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were all of you baptized in the name of Paul?
14 我感謝天主，除了克黎斯頗和加約外，我沒有給你們中的任何人付過洗，
I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Crispus and Gaius;
15 免得有人說：你們受洗是歸我的名下。
Lest any should say that I had baptized in mine own name.
16 我還給斯特法納一家付過洗；此外我就不記得還給誰付過洗了。
And I baptized also the household of Stephanas: besides, I know not whether I baptized any other.
17 原來基督派遺我，不是為施洗，而是為宣傳福音，且不用巧妙的言辭，免得基督十字架失去效力。
For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, (logos) lest the cross of Christ should be made of no effect.
18 原來十字架的道理，為喪亡的人是愚妄，為我們得救的人，卻是天主的德能，
For the preaching (logos) of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
19 因為經上記載：『我要摧毀智者的智慧，廢除賢者的聰明。
For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? (aiōn g165)
21 因為世人沒有憑自己的智慧，認識天主，天主遂以自己的智慧，決意以愚妄的道理來拯救那些相信的人。
For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
22 的確，猶太人要求的是神蹟，希臘人尋求的智慧，
For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
23 這為猶太人固然是絆腳石，為外邦人是愚妄，
But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumbling block, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
24 但為那些蒙召的，不拘是猶太人或希臘人，基督卻是天主的德能和天主的智慧：
But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
25 因為天主的愚妄總比人門智，天主的懦弱也總比人強。
Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
26 弟兄們！你們看看你們是怎麼蒙召的：按肉眼看，你們人聰明的人並不多，有權勢的人也不多，顯貴的人也不多；
For all of you see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:
27 天主偏召了世上愚妄的，為羞辱那智慧的；召選了世上懦弱的，為羞那堅強的；
But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God has chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
28 甚而天主召選了世上卑賤的和受人輕視的，以及那些一無所有的，
And base things of the world, and things which are despised, has God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nothing things that are:
29 為使一切有血肉的人，在天主前無所誇耀。
That no flesh should glory in his presence.
30 你們得以結合於基督耶穌內，全是由於天主，也是由於天主，基督成了我們的智慧，正義，聖化者和救贖者，
But of him are all of you in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
31 正如經上所記載的：『凡要誇耀的，應因主而誇耀。』
That, according as it is written, He that glories, let him glory in the Lord.
