1 [投奔達味的戰士]當達味尚在逃避克士的兒子撒烏耳時，這些人就來到戚刻拉格，投奔達味。他們都是些勇士，善於作戰，
Now these are they that came to David to Ziklag, while he was yet shut up because of Saul the son of Kish; and they were among the mighty men, his helpers in war.
2 能左右開弓，發石射傷的人，是本雅明人，為撒烏耳的同族兄弟；
They were armed with bows, and could use both the right hand and the left in slinging stones and in shooting arrows from the bow; they were of Saul's brethren of Benjamin.
3 為首的是阿希厄則耳，其次為基貝亞人舍瑪亞的兒子約阿士，阿次瑪委特的兒子耶齊耳和培肋特，貝辣加和阿納托特人耶胡，
The chief was Ahiezer, then Joash, the sons of Shemaah the Gibeathite; and Jeziel, and Pelet, the sons of Azmaveth; and Beracah, and Jehu the Anathothite;
4 基貝紅人依市瑪雅，他在三十勇士之中，且是三十勇士的首領； 還有耶勒米雅，雅哈齊耳，約哈南和革德爾人的約匝巴得，
and Ishmaiah the Gibeonite, a mighty man among the thirty, and over the thirty; and Jeremiah, and Jahaziel, and Johanan, and Jozabad the Gederathite;
5 厄路齋，耶黎摩特，貝阿里雅，舍瑪黎雅和哈黎夫人舍法提雅，
Eluzai, and Jerimoth, and Bealiah, and Shemariah, and Shephatiah the Hariphite;
6 厄耳卡納，依史雅，阿匝勒耳，約厄則爾和瑪芍貝罕，科辣黑人，
Elkanah, and Isshiah, and Azarel, and Joezer, and Jashobeam, the Korahites;
7 又有革多爾人耶洛罕的兒子約厄拉和則巴狄雅。
and Joelah, and Zebadiah, the sons of Jeroham of the troop.
8 有些加得人到曠野的山岩中歸順了達味；他們是孔武有力，精於作戰，能使藤牌槍矛的勇士，面貌相似獅子，敏捷有如山上的羚羊：
And of the Gadites there separated themselves unto David to the stronghold in the wilderness, mighty men of valour, men trained for war, that could handle shield and spear; whose faces were like the faces of lions, and they were as swift as the roes upon the mountains;
9 首為厄則爾，次為敖巴狄雅，三為厄里雅布，
Ezer the chief, Obadiah the second, Eliab the third;
10 四為米舍曼納，五為耶勒米雅，
Mashmannah the fourth, Jeremiah the fifth;
11 六為阿泰，七為厄里耳，
Attai the sixth, Eliel the seventh;
12 八為約哈南，九為厄耳匝巴得，
Johanan the eighth, Elzabad the ninth;
13 十為耶勒米雅烏，十一為瑪革邦乃：
Jeremiah the tenth, Machbannai the eleventh.
14 這些人都是加得的子孫，軍隊的首領，小者可抵百人，大者可抵千人。
These of the sons of Gad were captains of the host; he that was least was equal to a hundred, and the greatest to a thousand.
15 就是這些人，在一月裏，約但何水漲到兩岸時，渡過了河，使平原所有的居民東奔西逃。
These are they that went over the Jordan in the first month, when it had overflown all its banks; and they put to flight all them of the valleys, both toward the east, and toward the west.
16 此外，又有本雅明人和猶大人來到山砦見達味，
And there came of the children of Benjamin and Judah to the stronghold unto David.
17 達味出來迎接他們說：「如果你們帶來平安，有意協助我，我的心就與你們相契合；如果你們來是為將我這無辜的人出賣於敵人，願我們祖先的天主，予以鑑察，予以審判。」
And David went out to meet them, and answered and said unto them: 'If ye be come peaceably unto me to help me, my heart shall be knit unto you; but if ye be come to betray me to mine adversaries, seeing there is no wrong in my hands, the God of our fathers look thereon, and give judgment.'
18 當時，天主的神充滿在那三十個勇士的首領阿瑪賽身上，他遂說：「達味! 我們屬於你；葉瑟的兒子! 我們來協助你；平安! 願協助你的也都平安! 因為你的天主扶助了你。」達味便收留了他們，委他們為部隊隊長。
Then the spirit clothed Amasai, who was chief of the captains: Thine are we, David, and on thy side, thou son of Jesse; peace, peace be unto thee, and peace be to thy helpers; for thy God helpeth thee. Then David received them, and made them captains of the band.
19 當達味與培肋舍特人一同去攻打撒烏耳時，也有些默納協人歸順了達味。其實達味並沒有協助培勒舍特人，因為培肋舍特人的首領議決將他遣回，說：「怕達味拿我們的頭去向他的主人撒烏耳投誠。」
Of Manasseh also there fell away some to David, when he came with the Philistines against Saul to battle, but they helped them not; for the lords of the Philistines upon advisement sent him away, saying: 'He will fall away to his master Saul to the jeopardy of our heads.'
20 達味回漆刻拉格時，默納協人阿德納，約匝巴得，耶狄厄耳，米加耳，約匝巴得，厄里胡和漆肋泰，都歸順了他；他們都是默納協人中的千夫長。
As he went to Ziklag, there fell to him of Manasseh, Adnah, and Jozabad, and Jediael, and Michael, and Jozabad, and Elihu, and Zillethai, captains of thousands that were of Manasseh.
21 這些人偕同達味攻擊了一群賊寇；他們皆是孔武有力的勇士，成了軍中的官長。
And they helped David against the troop, for they were all mighty men of valour, and were captains in the host.
22 前來協助達味的人日漸增多，以致成了一強大的兵團，有如天主的軍旅。[擁護達味為王的戰士]
For from day to day men came to David to help him, until there was a great host, like the host of God.
23 來到赫貝龍達味前，欲把撒烏耳的王位，依照上主的命令，交於達味，而準備出征的人數如下：
And these are the numbers of the heads of them that were armed for war, who came to David to Hebron, to turn the kingdom of Saul to him, according to the word of the LORD.
24 猶大子孫中，執盾持槍的武裝戰士六千八百人；
The children of Judah that bore shield and spear were six thousand and eight hundred, armed for war.
25 西默盎子孫中，英勇有力的戰士七千一百人；
Of the children of Simeon, mighty men of valour for the war, seven thousand and one hundred.
26 肋未子孫中，四千六百人；
Of the children of Levi four thousand and six hundred.
27 亞郎家族的族長約雅達，與他的侍從三千七百人，
And Jehoiada was the leader of the house of Aaron, and with him were three thousand and seven hundred;
28 少年勇士匝多克和他的家人二十二個軍官；
and Zadok, a young man mighty of valour, and of his father's house twenty and two captains.
29 撒烏耳的同族本雅明子孫中三千人。直到那時止，他們多半支持撒烏耳家；
And of the children of Benjamin, the brethren of Saul, three thousand; for hitherto the greatest part of them had kept their allegiance to the house of Saul.
30 厄弗辣因子孫中，二萬零八百人，都是有力的勇士，在自己家族中也是有名望的人；
And of the children of Ephraim twenty thousand and eight hundred, mighty men of valour, famous men in their fathers' houses.
31 默納協半支派中，報名來立達味為王者一萬八千人；
And of the half-tribe of Manasseh eighteen thousand, who were mentioned by name, to come and make David king.
32 依撒加爾子孫中，識時務，指導以色列應如何行事的人，有族長二百人，同族的人都聽他們的指揮；
And of the children of Issachar, men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do; the heads of them were two hundred; and all their brethren were at their commandment.
33 則步隆子孫中，能上陣作戰，會用各種武器，一心一意助戰的，有五萬人；
Of Zebulun, such as were able to go out in the host, that could set the battle in array, with all manner of instruments of war, fifty thousand; and that could order the battle array, and were not of double heart.
34 納裴塔里子孫中，能上陣作戰的，有二萬八千六百人；
And of Naphtali a thousand captains, and with them with shield and spear thirty and seven thousand.
35 丹子孫中，能上陣作戰的，有二萬八千六百人；
And of the Danites that could set the battle in array, twenty and eight thousand and six hundred.
36 阿協爾子孫中，能上陣作戰的，有四萬人；
And of Asher, such as were able to go out in the host, that could set the battle in array, forty thousand.
37 約但河東岸，勒烏本族，加得族，默納協半支派中，能持各種兵器作戰的，共有十二萬人：
And on the other side of the Jordan, of the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and of the half-tribe of Manasseh, with all manner of instruments of war for the battle, a hundred and twenty thousand.
38 以上這些人都是軍人，有行伍訓練的戰士，誠心來到赫貝龍，要立達味為全以色列的君王；其餘的眾以色列人，也都一心要立達味為王。
All these, being men of war, that could order the battle array, came with a whole heart to Hebron, to make David king over all Israel; and all the rest also of Israel were of one heart to make David king.
39 他們在那裏與達味同住了三天，一同飲食，因為有他們的弟兄為他們預備好了一切。
And they were there with David three days, eating and drinking; for their brethren had made preparation for them.
40 附近的人，以及遠至依撒加爾，則步隆和納斐塔里的人，都用驢、駱駝、騾和牛，給他們載來大批食品：麵餅、無花果餅、葡萄乾餅、由和牛羊，因為當時在以色列充滿了快樂。
Moreover they that were nigh unto them, even as far as Issachar and Zebulun and Naphtali, brought bread on asses, and on camels, and on mules, and on oxen, victual of meal, cakes of figs, and clusters of raisins, and wine, and oil, and oxen, and sheep in abundance; for there was joy in Israel.
