约翰福音 9
1 耶稣在路上行走的时候，看见一个与生俱来的盲人。
And as he passed by, he saw a man blind from birth.
2 门徒问他：“拉比，为什么这人生下来就看不到？是他犯了什么罪吗，还是他的父母？”
And his disciples asked him, "Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?"
3 耶稣回答：“不是他或他的父母犯了罪，而是要在他身上显示上帝的能力。
Yeshua answered, "Neither did this man sin, nor his parents; but, that the works of God might be revealed in him.
4 在白天的时候，我们要做好自己的工作，这是派我前来此处之人让我做的。黑夜一到，就没有人能工作了。
We must work the works of him who sent me, while it is day. The night is coming, when no one can work.
5 只要我还在这世界，我就是这世界的光。”
While I am in the world, I am the light of the world."
6 说了这话，耶稣在地上吐了一口唾沫，将唾沫和泥混在一起，抹在瞎子的眼睛上，
When he had said this, he spat on the ground, made mud with the saliva, anointed the blind man's eyes with the mud,
7 然后对他说：“去西罗亚池洗一洗吧。”（西罗亚意为“派你去。”）。那人走开了，在水池中洗了洗，就看见了。
and said to him, "Go, wash in the pool of Shilukha" (which means "Sent"). So he went away, washed, and came back seeing.
8 他的邻居和其他知道他是个乞丐的人说：“这不是那个曾坐着讨饭的人吗？”
The neighbors therefore, and those who saw that he was a beggar before, said, "Is this not the one who used to sit and beg?"
9 有人说是他。其他人则说：“不是他，只是有点像而已。”但这个男人不断地说：“就是我！”
Some said, "It is he." Others said, "He looks like him." He said, "I am he."
10 于是他们问他：“你怎么能看到的？”
They therefore were asking him, "How were your eyes opened?"
11 他回答：“一个叫耶稣的人和了一点泥，抹在我的眼上，对我说：‘去西罗亚池洗一洗吧。’我就去洗了洗，然后就看见了。”
He answered, "A man called Yeshua made mud, anointed my eyes, and said to me, 'Go to Shilukha, and wash.' So I went away and washed, and I received sight."
12 众人问：“他在哪儿呢？” 他说：“我不知道。”
Then they asked him, "Where is he?" He said, "I do not know."
13 他们就把这位曾经的盲人带到法利赛人那里。
They brought him who had been blind to the Pharisees.
14 耶稣和泥让他重见光明的那一天，正是安息日。
Now it was a Sabbath on the day when Yeshua made the mud and opened his eyes.
15 法利赛人又问他是怎样看到的。他回答：“耶稣把泥抹在我的眼上，我洗了洗就看见了。”
Again therefore the Pharisees also asked him how he received his sight. He said to them, "He put mud on my eyes, I washed, and I see."
16 有几个法利赛人说：“做这件事的人不会来自上帝，因为他不守安息日的规矩。”但也有人质疑：“一个罪人怎能显化这样的神迹呢？”众人分成了两派意见。
Some therefore of the Pharisees said, "This man is not from God, because he does not keep the Sabbath." Others said, "How can a man who is a sinner do such signs?" There was division among them.
17 他们又对那重见光明的男人说：“既然他让你的眼睛能看到，你认为他是什么人？” 他说：“他肯定是个先知。”
Therefore they asked the blind man again, "What do you say about him, because he opened your eyes?" He said, "He is a prophet."
18 犹太人的首领们仍拒绝相信他曾经是个盲人，只是现在才能看见，于是就把他的父母叫来，
The Jewish leaders therefore did not believe concerning him, that he had been blind, and had received his sight, until they called the parents of him who had received his sight,
19 他们问到：“这就是你们说生下来就看不见的儿子吗？现在他怎么又能看见呢？”
and asked them, "Is this your son, who you say was born blind? How then does he now see?"
20 他的父母回答：“我们知道这就是我们的儿子，生下来就看不见。
His parents answered them, "We know that this is our son, and that he was born blind;
21 现在他为什么又能看到了，谁治好了他的眼睛，我们也不明白为什么。干嘛不问问他呢，他已经长大成人，可以表达自己的想法了。”
but how he now sees, we do not know; or who opened his eyes, we do not know. He is of age. Ask him. He will speak for himself."
22 他父母这样说，只是因为害怕犹太人首领。这些犹太人首领早就宣布，谁说耶稣就是基督，就会被赶出会堂。
His parents said these things because they feared the Jewish leaders; for the Jewish leaders had already agreed that if anyone would confess him as the Meshikha, he would be put out of the synagogue.
23 所以他的父母才说：“他已经长大成人，你们问他吧。”
Therefore his parents said, "He is of age. Ask him."
24 于是法利赛人再次把这位曾经的盲人叫来，对他说：“荣耀应该归于上帝！我们知道这人是个罪人。”
So they called the man who was blind a second time, and said to him, "Give glory to God. We know that this man is a sinner."
25 那人回答：“他是不是罪人，我不知道。我只知道一件事：我本来看不到，现在能看见了。”
He therefore answered, "I do not know if he is a sinner. One thing I do know: that though I was blind, now I see."
26 他们又问：“他向你做了什么呢？怎么治好你的眼睛的？”
They said to him, "What did he do to you? How did he open your eyes?"
27 他回答：“我已经告诉你们了，你们没听到吗？现在怎么又想听了？你们也想成为他的门徒吗？”
He answered them, "I told you already, and you did not listen. Why do you want to hear it again? You do not also want to become his disciples, do you?"
28 他们开始斥责他，说：“你才是他的门徒，我们是摩西的门徒。
They insulted him and said, "You are his disciple, but we are disciples of Mushe.
29 我们知道上帝曾对摩西说过什么。但这个人，我们甚至不知道他从何而来。”
We know that God has spoken to Mushe. But as for this man, we do not know where he comes from."
30 那人答道：“真不可思议，他治好了我的眼睛，你们竟然不知道他从何而来。
The man answered them, "How amazing. You do not know where he comes from, yet he opened my eyes.
31 我们都知道，上帝从不听罪人的祈求，只听那敬畏上帝、遵行他旨意的人。
We know that God does not listen to sinners, but if anyone is a worshipper of God, and does his will, he listens to him.
Since the world began it has never been heard of that anyone opened the eyes of someone born blind. (aiōn g165)
33 这人如果不是来自上帝，就什么都做不了。”
If this man were not from God, he could do nothing."
34 犹太人说：“你生下来就是个彻底的罪人，居然来教训我们！”就把他赶出会堂。
They answered him, "You were altogether born in sins, and do you teach us?" They threw him out.
35 耶稣听说他们把他赶了出来，于是就去找到这个男人，问他：“你相信人子吗？”
Yeshua heard that they had thrown him out, and finding him, he said, "Do you believe in the Son of Man?"
36 那男人说：“先生，告诉我他是谁，我会全信他。”
He answered, "Who is he, Lord, that I may believe in him?"
37 耶稣说：“你已经见过他了，他此刻正在和你说话。”
Yeshua said to him, "You have both seen him, and it is he who speaks with you."
38 那人说：“主啊，我相信你。”于是向耶稣跪拜。
He said, "Lord, I believe." and he worshiped him.
39 耶稣对他说：“我到这世上就是为了带来评判，让盲人重见光明，让看得到的人成为盲人。”
Yeshua said, "I came into this world for judgment, that those who do not see may see; and that those who see may become blind."
40 耶稣身边的几名法利赛人听了这话，就说：“难道我们也看不到吗？”
Those of the Pharisees who were with him heard these things, and said to him, "Are we also blind?"
41 耶稣回答：“如果你们看不到，就没有罪了，但现在你们说自己能看见，所以你们仍然有罪。”
Yeshua said to them, "If you were blind, you would have no sin; but since you say, 'We see,' your sin remains.
