约翰福音 4
1 耶稣意识到，法利赛人已经发现，他收门徒和施洗的人数已经超过了约翰，
When therefore the Lord knew how that the Pharisees had heard that Jesus was making and baptizing more disciples than John
2 （但进行施洗之人不是耶稣，而是他的门徒）
(although Jesus himself baptized not, but his disciples),
3 于是他离开犹太，返回加利利。
he left Judaea, and departed again into Galilee.
4 途中需要经过撒玛利亚。
And he must needs pass through Samaria.
5 随后他来到撒玛利亚一座名叫叙加的城邦，雅各送给他儿子约瑟的那块地就在这附近。
So he cometh to a city of Samaria, called Sychar, near to the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph:
6 雅各的井也在这里。正午时分，耶稣因为旅途疲倦，就坐在井旁。
and Jacob’s well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus by the well. It was about the sixth hour.
7 一个撒玛利亚妇人来此取水。耶稣对她说：“能不能给我点水喝。”
There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink.
8 当时他的门徒都去城里买食物去了。
For his disciples were gone away into the city to buy food.
9 撒玛利亚妇人对耶稣说：“你是犹太人，怎能向我这个撒玛利亚妇人要水喝呢？”因为犹太人与撒玛利亚人完全没有往来。
The Samaritan woman therefore saith unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a Samaritan woman? (For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.)
10 耶稣回答她：“但凡你意识到上帝的恩赐，知道是谁对你说‘能不能给我点水喝’，你一定会去求他了，他会赐给你生命之水。”
Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.
11 妇人说：“先生，你没有桶，井又深，又要到哪里获得生命之水呢？
The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water?
12 我们的先父雅各把这口井留给我们，他自己，他的子孙和他的牲畜都曾喝过井中之水，难道你比他还伟大吗？”
Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his sons, and his cattle?
13 耶稣回答：“喝过这里的水，之后还是会感到口渴。
Jesus answered and said unto her, Every one that drinketh of this water shall thirst again:
15 妇人说：“先生，请赐我这样的水，让我不再口渴，无需再到这里打水！”
The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come all the way hither to draw.
16 耶稣说：“去叫上你的丈夫，然后回到这里来。”
Jesus saith unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither.
17 妇人回答：“我没有丈夫。”耶稣说：“你说你没有丈夫，的确如此。
The woman answered and said unto him, I have no husband. Jesus saith unto her, Thou saidst well, I have no husband:
18 你曾有五位丈夫，现在和你生活在一起的人并不是你的丈夫。你说的是事实！”
for thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: this hast thou said truly.
19 妇人说：“先生，现在我可以看出来，你是先知。
The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.
20 我们的祖先在这个山上敬拜上帝，但你们却说，必须在耶路撒冷敬拜。和我讲讲这个吧。”
Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.
21 耶稣回答：“相信我，你们膜拜天父的地点并非在这山上，也不在耶路撒冷。现在这个时刻将要来到。
Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when neither in this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, shall ye worship the Father.
22 你们并不了解所膜拜的上帝，我们所膜拜的却是我们所知晓的上帝，因为救赎源自犹太人。
Ye worship that which ye know not: we worship that which we know: for salvation is from the Jews.
23 这样的时刻正在到来——事实上已经来到。真正膜拜天父之人，会遵循真理、在精神中膜拜。因为天父寻找的就是这样膜拜他的人。
But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and truth: for such doth the Father seek to be his worshippers.
24 上帝就是灵，膜拜他的人必会在自己的灵中膜拜，遵循真理膜拜。”
God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship in spirit and truth.
25 妇人说：“我知道（那被称为基督的）弥赛亚即将到来，他来是为了把一切都告诉我们。”
The woman saith unto him, I know that Messiah cometh (which is called Christ): when he is come, he will declare unto us all things.
26 耶稣说：“我是——现在与你说话的就是他。”
Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am [he].
27 这时门徒们回来了，看到耶稣和一个妇人说话，他们感到很惊讶，但没有人问：“你在做什么？”或说：“你为什么与她说话？”
And upon this came his disciples; and they marveled that he was speaking with a woman; yet no man said, What seekest thou? or, Why speakest thou with her?
28 那妇人丢下自己的水罐，跑回城里，对众人说：
So the woman left her waterpot, and went away into the city, and saith to the men,
29 “快来看看这个人，他把我所做的一切都说出来，这人会是基督吗？”
Come, see a man, which told me all things that [ever] I did: can this be the Christ?
30 于是众人纷纷出城，要去看看耶稣。
They went out of the city, and were coming to him.
31 与此同时，门徒对耶稣说：“拉比，吃点东西吧！”
In the mean while the disciples prayed him, saying, Rabbi, eat.
32 但耶稣说：“我有可以吃的东西，只是你们对此一无所知。”
But he said unto them, I have meat to eat that ye know not.
33 门徒们询问彼此：“有人拿东西给他吃了吗？”
The disciples therefore said one to another, Hath any man brought him [aught] to eat?
34 耶稣告诉他们：“遵循派我来此之人的旨意，完成他的工作，这就是我的食物。
Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to accomplish his work.
35 你们不是说‘距离收获还有四个月’？我告诉你们，睁开眼睛看看四周！田里的庄稼已经熟了，可以收获了。
Say not ye, There are yet four months, and [then] cometh the harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields, that they are white already unto harvest.
He that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal; that he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together. (aiōnios g166)
37 俗话说‘你撒种，我收割’，的确如此。
For herein is the saying true, One soweth, and another reapeth.
38 我派你们去收获的，并非是你们劳作的结果，别人劳苦工作，你们来收获他们工作的成果。”
I sent you to reap that whereon ye have not laboured: others have laboured, and ye are entered into their labour.
39 由于那名妇人见证说：“他把我所做的一切都说出来”，城里就有许多撒玛利亚人开始相信耶稣。
And from that city many of the Samaritans believed on him because of the word of the woman, who testified, He told me all things that [ever] I did.
40 他们来到耶稣所在的地方，祈求能和他在一起，于是耶稣就在那里停留了两天。
So when the Samaritans came unto him, they besought him to abide with them: and he abode there two days.
41 因耶稣所说的话，信他的人就更多了。
And many more believed because of his word;
42 他们对那妇人说：“现在我们相信他，不再是因为你所说的，而是因为我们亲自听见了，确认他就是这世界的救世主。”
and they said to the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy speaking: for we have heard for ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Saviour of the world.
43 两天后，耶稣继续向加利利出发。
And after the two days he went forth from thence into Galilee.
44 耶稣自己就曾说过：“先知在自己的家乡不受尊敬。”
For Jesus himself testified, that a prophet hath no honour in his own country.
45 但耶稣抵达加利利后，那里的人都很欢迎他，因为他们曾到耶路撒冷过逾越节，见过他所做的一切。
So when he came into Galilee, the Galilaeans received him, having seen all the things that he did in Jerusalem at the feast: for they also went unto the feast.
46 耶稣又造访了加利利的迦拿，就是他把水变成酒的地方。那附近有一个叫做迦百农的城邦，一名皇家长官的儿子患上重病。
He came therefore again unto Cana of Galilee, where he made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman, whose son was sick at Capernaum.
47 他听说耶稣从犹太返回了加利利，就跑来求他去医治他的儿子，因为那孩子命不久矣。
When he heard that Jesus was come out of Judaea into Galilee, he went unto him, and besought [him] that he would come down, and heal his son; for he was at the point of death.
48 耶稣对大家说：“如果看不见神迹和奇迹，你们就是不肯相信我。”
Jesus therefore said unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will in no wise believe.
49 那位长官说：“主啊，趁我的孩子还没有死，求你去看看吧！”
The nobleman saith unto him, Sir, come down ere my child die.
50 耶稣告诉他：“回家吧，你儿子的病好了！” 那人相信了耶稣对他说的话，就回家了。
Jesus saith unto him, Go thy way; thy son liveth. The man believed the word that Jesus spake unto him, and he went his way.
51 他在回家的路上遇到了仆人，仆人告诉他一个好消息：他的儿子活着，并且已经痊愈。
And as he was now going down, his servants met him, saying, that his son lived.
52 他询问孩子痊愈的时间。他们告诉他：“昨天下午一点钟，高烧就退了。”
So he inquired of them the hour when he began to amend. They said therefore unto him, Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.
53 这位父亲意识到，耶稣也是在那个时间告诉他“你儿子的病好了”，于是他自己和全家人都相信了耶稣。
So the father knew that [it was] at that hour in which Jesus said unto him, Thy son liveth: and himself believed, and his whole house.
54 从犹太回到加利利后，这是耶稣所做的第二件神迹。
This is again the second sign that Jesus did, having come out of Judaea into Galilee.
