1 Telah pawiteh, Cathut ni amae miphunnaw a pahnawt toung telah na pacei pawiteh pahnawt hoeh, kai hai Isarel miphun, Abraham koehoi ka tho e, Benjamin catoun lah ka o.
I say, then—Hath God cast off his people? Far be it! For, I also, am an Israelite, —of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin:
2 Cathut ni sut a panue tangcoung e taminaw pahnawt hoeh. Profet Elijah ni, Isarelnaw Cathut koe a thaisak navah Cakathoung dawk bangtelamaw a thut tie na panuek awh hoeh maw.
God hath not cast off his people, whom he fore approved. Or know ye not, in [the account of] Elijah what the scripture saith, when he intercedeth with God against Israel?
3 Ahni ni, Oe Cathut, ahnimouh teh Bawipa nange profetnaw hah a thei awh toe. Bawipa nange thuengnae khoungroenaw a raphoe awh toe. Kai buet touh dueng doeh kaawm toe. Kai hai thei hanelah na tawng awh toe telah a dei.
Lord! Thy prophets, have they slain, thine altars, have they overthrown, and, I, am left alone, and they are seeking my life!
4 Hatei, Cathut ni bangtelamaw a dei pouh tetpawiteh, Baal hmalah khok cuengkhuem hoeh e tami thong sari touh kama hanelah ka pek toe telah atipouh.
But what saith unto him the response? I have left for myself seven thousand men, who, indeed, have not bowed a knee unto Baal.
5 Hot patetvanlah atu tueng haiyah, lungmanae lahoi rawi e acawinaw ao rah.
Thus, then, in the present season also, a remnant, by way of an election of favour, hath come into being.
6 Hatei, lungmanae lahoi boipawiteh tawksaknae lahoi nahoeh toe. Hoehpawiteh lungmanae teh lungmanae lah awm mahoeh.
If, however, by favour, no longer of works; else, favour, no longer proveth to be favour!
7 Hottelah pawiteh bangtelamaw. Isarel miphunnaw ni panki laihoi a tawng awh e hno hah hmawt a hoeh. Rawi e lah kaawm naw ni dueng doeh a hmu awh. Aloukenaw teh a lungpata awh.
What then? That which Israel seeketh after, the same, it hath not obtained: —the election, however, have obtained it, and, the rest, have been hardened; —
8 Cathut ni ahnimouh koevah atu totouh a lungthin pueng a ramuk pouh. Ka hmawt thai hoeh e mit, ka thai thai hoeh e hnânaw hah a poe telah Cakathoung dawk a thut e patetlah atu a kuep toe.
Even as it is written—God hath given unto them a spirit of stupor, —eyes not to see, and ears not to hear, —until this very day;
9 Devit ni hai a dei e teh, ahnimae caboi teh tangkam patung e lah, karap patung e lah, payonsakkung lah, moipathung hanelah awm naseh telah a ti.
And, David, saith—Let their table be turned into a snare, and into gin, and into a trap, and into a recompense unto them,
10 Ahnimanaw e mit teh hmu thai hoeh totouh dawn naseh. Ahnimae keng hai hnamkhun yungyoe seh telah a ti.
Darkened be their eyes, not to see, and, their back, do thou continually bow down.
11 Hat pawiteh, Isarelnaw ni a rawp totouh a kamthui awh toung maw telah na pacei. Telah nahoeh. Ahnimouh payonnae lahoi Jentelnaw koe rungngangnae a pha teh, Isarelnaw ni utsinnae a tawn awh nahane doeh.
I say then—Did they stumble in order that they might fall? Far be it! But, by their fall, salvation [hath come] unto the nations, to the end of provoking them to jealousy.
12 Hatei, ahnimae payonnae ni talaivan taminaw hanelah yawhawinae a tâcokhai. Ahnimae sungnae ni Jentelnaw hanlah yawhawinae tâcawtkhai pawiteh, ahnimae kuepnae ni teh banghloimaw hawinae hoe a tâcokhai han.
If, moreover, their fall, is the riches of a world, and their loss, the riches of nations, how much rather their fullness?
13 Hottelah ka ti nah, kai teh Jentelnaw koe patoun e guncei lah ka o e patetlah,
Unto you, however, am I speaking, —you of the nations; inasmuch, indeed, then, as, I, am an apostle to the nations, my ministry, I glorify,
14 hote thaw tawknae dawk kâoup teh, ka miphunnaw e pouknae hah buetbuet touh lahoi utsinnae a tawn awh vaiteh rungngang lah ao awh thai nahanelah ka ngaihawi.
If by any means I may provoke to jealousy my own flesh, and save some from among them; —
15 Bangkongtetpawiteh, ahnimouh pahnawt lah a onae teh talaivan taminaw hanlah bout kâmaihawi lah awm pawiteh, ahnimouh bout coenae teh kadout tangcoung naw hanlah duenae koehoi bout hringnae lah kaawm han nahoehmaw.
For, if, the casting away of them, hath become the reconciling of a world, what shall, the taking of them in addition, be, but life from among the dead?
16 Aluepaw lah thueng e tavai teh thoung pawiteh abuemlah a thoung han. A khongyang thoung pawiteh, a kang naw pueng hai a thoung han.
If, moreover, the first fruit [is] holy, the lump [shall be] also; and, if the root [is] holy, the branches [shall be] also.
17 A tangawn e a kang naw teh tâtueng vaiteh, kahrawng e Olivekung lah kaawm e nang hah hote a kangnaw dawkvah, pacawng laihoi Olive khongyang dawk e tui na kahmawng e lah na awm pawiteh,
If, however, some of the branches, have been broken out, and, thou, being a wild olive hast been grafted in among them, and hast become a joint partaker of the root of the fatness of the olive,
18 hote cakang naw e lathueng kâoupnae lungthin tawn hanh. Na kâoup han na ngai pawiteh, nang ni a khongyang na doun hoeh, khongyang ni doeh nang teh na doun.
Be not boasting over the branches! Howbeit, if thou boast, it is not, thou, that bearest the root, but the root, thee!
19 Hattoteh nang ni kai hah na pacawng nahanelah a kangnaw teh bouk lah ao na ti han doeh.
Thou wilt say, then—Branches were broken out in order that, I, might he grafted in.
20 Bokheiyah. Ahnimouh a yuem hoeh dawk tâtueng lah ao teh, nang teh yuemnae lahoi doeh na cak. Kâoupnae tawn hanh, takinae tawn haw.
Well: by their want of faith, they have been broken out, —and, thou, by thy faith, dost stand!—Regard not lofty things, but be afraid;
21 Bangkongtetpawiteh, Cathut ni apasuek e a kangnaw pasai hoehpawiteh, nangmouh hai na pasai mahoeh.
For, if, God, hath not spared, the natural branches, neither, thee, will he spare!
22 Hatdawkvah Cathut ni lawkcengnae hoi lungmanae hah khenhaw! Lawkcengnae teh ka rawm e taminaw lathueng ao teh, Cathut lungmanae teh nang ni hote lungmanae dawk pou na awm pawiteh, nang koevah ao. Pou na awmhoeh pawiteh nang haiyah tâtueng lah na o han.
See, then, the kindness and the severity of God: upon them who have fallen, severity, —but, upon thee, the kindness of God, if thou abide still in the kindness, —otherwise, thou also, shalt he cut out;
23 Ahnimanaw pueng hai yuemhoehnae tâkhawng awh pawiteh, a kang dawk patawp lah ao awh han. Bangkongtetpawiteh ahnimanaw pueng bout patawp hanelah Cathut ni a sak thai.
Whereas, they also, unless they abide still in their want of faith, shall be grafted in, for God is, able, again to engraft them!
24 Bangkongtetpawiteh nang teh kahrawng e Olivekung dawk hoi tâtueng e lah na o teh, kahawi e Olivekung dawk kaawm boihoeh e patawp e lah na awm pawiteh, kaawm boi e Olive kangnaw teh a kung karuem dawk banghloimaw bout patawp hanelah a yawi han.
For, if, thou, out of the naturally wild olive was cut out, and, beyond nature, hast been engrafted into the good olive, how much rather, shall these, the natural [branches] be engrafted into their own olive tree?
25 Hmaunawnghanaw nangmanaw, kâoupnae lungthin na tawn hoeh nahanelah, Jentelnaw pueng a kâen hoehnahlan totouh Isarel tami tangawn teh hmonae ni a ramuk e hrolawk heh panuek laipalah na o sak hanelah na ngaikhai awh hoeh.
For I wish not, ye should be ignorant, brethren, of this sacred secret, lest within yourselves ye be presumptuous, that, a hardening in part, hath befallen Israel, until, the full measure of the nations, shall come in;
26 Hote Cakathoung dawk e patetlah Isarelnaw pueng rungngang lah ao awh han. Cakathoung ni a dei e teh, ka hloutkhaikung Bawi teh Zion mon dawk hoi a tho vaiteh, Jakop e miphun dawk hoi tami kahawi hoeh naw koung a raphoe han.
And, so, all Israel shall be saved: even as it is written—There shall have come out of Zion the Deliverer, —He will turn away ungodliness from Jacob;
27 Ahnimouh a yonnae pueng ka tâkhawng pouh toteh ahnimouh koe kai ni ka poe hane lawkkam doeh telah Ca Kathoung dawk thut e patetlah ao.
And, this, for them, is the covenant from me, as soon as I take away their sins.
28 Ahnimanaw teh kamthang lawkkahawi kecu dawk nangmae taran lah kaawm nakunghai rawinae dawk teh mintoenaw pawlawk dawk pahren lah ao awh.
As touching the joyful-message, indeed, they are enemies for your sake, but, as touching the election, beloved for their father’s sake;
29 Bangkongtetpawiteh, Cathut e poehnonaw hoi kawnae teh bout kâthung hoeh.
For, not to be regretted, are the gifts and the calling of God: —
30 Nangmouh pueng teh ahmaloe vah Cathut e lawk na ngâi awh hoeh eiteh, atuteh ahnimae lawkngâihoehnae ni pahrennae na coe sak toe.
For, just as, ye, at one time had not yielded unto God, and yet now have received mercy by their refusal to yield,
31 Hot patetvanlah nangmouh ni na coe e pahrennae lahoi yah, ahnimanaw hai pahrennae a coe thai nahan, atuvah ahnimanaw teh lawkngai laipalah ao awh.
So, these also, have now refused to yield, by your own mercy, in order that, themselves also, should now become objects of mercy;
32 Cathut ni tami pueng pahrennae tawn thai nahanlah taminaw lawk ngaihoehnae dawk a paung. (eleēsē g1653)
For God hath shut up all together, in a refusal to yield, in order that, upon all, he may bestow mercy. (eleēsē g1653)
33 Cathut e lungangnae hoi poukthainae a dungkawnae teh a dungkaw tangngak doeh. Lawkcengnae naw apinimaw koung a panue thai han. A lamthungnaw tawng nakunghai hmawt thai hoeh.
Oh! the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments! and untraceable his ways!
34 Cathut e a pouknae apimaw ka panuek, BAWIPA hoi apimaw ka kâpan.
For who hath come to know the mind of the Lord? Or who hath become his counselor?
35 Kahawi hno saknae pathung thai nahan, a yungyoe Cathut dawk apine hnokahawi ka sak.
Or who hath first given unto him, and it shall be recompensed to him again?
36 Hno cawngca pueng teh Bawipa koehoi, Bawipa lahoi, Bawipa hanelah ao awh. Bawipa teh a yungyoe bawilennae awm lawiseh. Amen. (aiōn g165)
Because, of him, and through him, and unto him, are all things: —unto him, be the glory, unto the ages. Amen! (aiōn g165)
