1 Ka hmaunawnghanaw Isarelnaw ni rungngang lah ao thai nahanelah ka ngaikhai poung dawkvah Cathut koe pou ka ratoum.
My friends, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for my people is for their salvation.
2 Ahnimouh ni Cathut hanelah puenghoi a lungthao awh e hah kai ni ka kampangkhai. Hatei, ahnimae a lungthaonae teh panuenae katang lah awmhoeh.
I can testify that they are zealous for the honour of God; but they are not guided by true insight,
3 Ahnimouh ni Cathut e lannae a lamthung panuek a hoeh. Amamae lannae caksak hanelah a tawng awh dawkvah, Cathut e lannae dawk kâen thai a hoeh.
for, in their ignorance of the divine righteousness, and in their eagerness to set up a righteousness of their own, they refused to accept with submission the divine righteousness.
4 Kayueme tami pueng ni lannae koe pha thai awh nahanlah Khrih teh kâlawk poutnae doeh.
For Christ has brought Law to an end, so that righteousness may be obtained by everyone who believes in him.
5 Mosi ni kâlawk lahoi kâkuen e lannae kong dawk a thut e teh, apihai hote kâlawk ka tarawi e pueng teh hotnaw lahoi a hring han, a ti.
For Moses writes that, as for the righteousness which results from Law, those who practice it will find life through it.
6 Yuemnae lahoi coe e lannae teh, nange na lungthung vah kalvan lah apimaw ka luen han tet hanh. A deingainae teh Khrih hah kum khai han ti ngainae doeh.
But the righteousness which results from faith finds expression in these words: “Do not say to yourself ‘Who will go up into heaven?’” (which means to bring Christ down)
7 Nahoeh pawiteh, adungpoungnae koe apimaw ka kum han telah hai tet hanh. A dei ngainae teh Khrih hah duenae koehoi tâcokhai han tinae doeh. (Abyssos )
“or ‘Who will go down into the depths below?’” (which means to bring Christ up from the dead). (Abyssos )
8 Bout a dei e teh phung lawk teh na teng vah ao. Na pahni dawk hai, na lungthung hai ao ati. Het hateh kaimouh ni ka pâpho awh e yuemnae lawk hah doeh.
No, but what does it say? “The message is near you, on your lips and in your heart” (which means “The message of faith” which we proclaim).
9 Jisuh teh Bawipa doeh telah na pahni hoi na dei teh, na lungthung hoi Cathut ni ahni teh duenae koehoi a thaw sak toe telah na yuem pawiteh rungngang lah na o han.
For, if with your lips you acknowledge the truth of the message that JESUS IS LORD, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
10 Lannae koe pha hanelah lungthin hoi yuem han, rungngangnae koe pha hanelah pahni hoi pâpho han.
For with their hearts people believe and so attain to righteousness, while with their lips they make their profession of faith and so find salvation.
11 Bangkongtetpawiteh, Cakathoung ni, hote talung ka yuem e pueng teh kayak mahoeh a ti.
As the passage of scripture says – “No one who believes in him will have any cause for shame.”
12 Het dawkvah Judahnaw hoi Griknaw rahak kapeknae awmhoeh. Bangkongtetpawiteh tami pueng ka uk e Bawipa buet touh dueng ao teh Ama ka kaw e pueng teh yawhawinae kakhoutlah a poe.
For no distinction is made between the Jew and the Greek, for all have the same Lord, and he is bountiful to all who invoke him.
13 Bangkongtetpawiteh Bawipa min ka kaw e pueng rungngang lah ao han.
For everyone who invokes the name of the Lord will be saved.
14 Hateiteh ma ni yuem hoeh e Bawipa hah bangtelamaw kaw thai han vaw. Na thai boihoeh e Bawipa hah bangtelamaw na yuem thai han vaw. Kapâphokung awm laipalah bangtelamaw thai thai han vaw.
But how, it may be asked, are they to invoke one in whom they have not learned to believe? And how are they to believe in one whose words they have not heard? And how are they to hear his words unless someone proclaims him?
15 A tami patoun laipalah bangtelamaw pâpho thai han vaw. Hot patetlah Cakathoung dawk thut e patetlah, roumnae kamthang kahawi ka pâpho e, lunghawinae kamthang kadeikungnaw e khok teh a meihawipoung.
And how is anyone to proclaim him unless they are sent as his messengers? As scripture says – “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”
16 Hateiteh, tami pueng ni lunghawinae kamthang thai ngai awh hoeh. Profet Isaiah ni a dei e teh, Oe! Cathut kaimae kamthang kahawi apinimaw a yuem han, a ti.
Still, it may be said, everyone did not give heed to the good news. No, for Isaiah asks – “Lord, who has believed our teaching?”
17 Hatdawkvah yuemnae teh thainae koehoi a tho teh, thainae teh Khrih e a lawk lahoi doeh a tho.
And so we gather, faith is a result of teaching, and the teaching comes in the message of Christ.
18 Hatei, pacei han ka ngai e teh, ahnimouh ni thai awh hoeh maw. A thai toung te., Ahnimae hramnae lawk teh talai van pueng a kamthang teh ahnimae a lawk teh talaivan a pout totouh a pha, telah a dei.
But I ask “Is it possible that people have never heard?” No, indeed, for – “Their voices spread through all the earth, and their message to the ends of the world.”
19 Bout na pacei ngai e teh Isarelnaw ni panuek awh hoeh maw. Ahmaloe vah Mosi ni nâyittouh hoeh e miphun lahoi nangmouh koe utnae lungthin ka tâco sak teh, panuenae ka tawn hoeh e miphun lahoi yah, na khang thai hoeh hane totouh ka tâco sak han a ti.
But again I ask “Did not the people of Israel understand?” First there is Moses, who says – “I, the Lord, will stir you to rivalry with a nation which is no nation; against an undiscerning nation I will arouse your anger.”
20 Profet Isaiah nihai, kai ka tawng hoeh e naw ni kai hah na hmu awh. Kaie kong ka pacei hoeh e naw koe kamahoima kamphawng pouh han telah taranhawi laihoi a ti.
And Isaiah says boldly – “I was found by those who were not seeking me; I made myself known to those who were not inquiring of me.”
21 Hatei, Isarelnaw hoi kâkuen lah, lawk ka ngâi hoeh e, ka taran lah kaawm e naw koe kai ni kanîruirui kut ka na sin toe atipouh.
But of the people of Israel he says – “All day long I have stretched out my hands to a people who disobey and contradict.”
