< Sam 1 >
1 Kasakkung: Panuekhoeh Tamikathoutnaw e khokhangnae koe ka cet hoeh e tami, tamikayonnaw e lamthung dawk kangdout hoeh e tami, kadudamnaw e kamkhuengnae koe hai ka tahung hoeh e tami,
Happy are those who do not follow the counsel of the wicked, not halting in ways frequented by sinners, nor taking a seat in a gathering of scoffers.
2 BAWIPA e lawk ka ngâi niteh, a kâlawknaw hah karum khodai luepluep ka pouk e tami teh a yawhawi.
But the law of the Lord is their joy, they study it day and night.
3 Ahni teh tui teng vah ung e, a tue a pha torei ka paw niteh, a hna hai kamyai hoeh e thingkung hoi a kâvan. A tawksak e naw dawk hawinae a hmu han.
They are like trees planted by runlets of water, yielding fruit in due season, leaves never fading. In all that they do, they prosper.
4 Tamikathoutnaw teh, hottelah laipalah, kahlî ni a palek e cahik hoi a kâvan awh.
Not so fare the wicked, not so; like chaff are they, blown by the wind.
5 Hatdawkvah, tamikathoutnaw teh, lawkcengnae hnin navah kangdout thai awh mahoeh. Tamikayonnaw hai tami kalannaw e kamkhuengnae dawk bawk thai mahoeh.
So the wicked will not stand firm in the judgment, nor sinners appear, when the righteous are gathered.
6 Bangkongtetpawiteh, BAWIPA ni tami kalannaw e lamthung teh a panue. Tamikathoutnaw e lamthung teh rawknae koe a pha han.
For the way of the righteous is dear to the Lord, but the way of the wicked will end in ruin.
