4 Tangkom dawk kâennaw hoi mek touksin lah ka o teh, thaonae ka tawn hoeh e patetlah ka o.
I have been reckoned with them that go down to the pit; I became as a man without help;
5 Taran ni a thei teh tangkom dawk pakawp e patetlah, tami kadoutnaw koe tâkhawng lah ka o teh, pouk hoeh e kabawp hoeh e patetlah ka o.
free among the dead, as the slain ones cast out, who sleep in the tomb; whom thou rememberest no more; and they are rejected from thy hand.
6 Tangkom dawk a dengnae koe, adungnae koe, a hmo poungnae koe vah na ta.
They laid me in the lowest pit, in dark [places], and in the shadow of death.
7 Na lungkhueknae ni na ratet teh, na tuicapa ni na ramuk. (Selah)
Thy wrath has pressed heavily upon me, and thou hast brought upon me all thy billows. (Pause)
8 Ka panue e naw hah kai koehoi ahlanae koe na ta teh, ahnimouh hanlah panuettho e lah na coung sak. na taren sin teh ka tâcawt thai hoeh toe.
Thou hast removed my acquaintance far from me; they have made me an abomination to themselves; I have been delivered up, and have not gone forth.
9 Runae kecu ka mit a mom. Hnintangkuem BAWIPA ka kaw teh, ka kut nang koe ka dâw.
Mine eyes are dimmed from poverty; but I cried to thee, O Lord, all the day; I spread forth my hands to thee.
10 Tami kadoutnaw hanlah kângairu na sak han na maw. Tamikadout thaw vaiteh, na pholen han na maw. (Selah)
Wilt thou work wonders for the dead? or shall physicians raise [them] up, that they shall praise thee?
11 Na lungpatawnae teh phuen koe pâpho vaiteh, yuemkamcu lah na onae hah duenae hmuen koe pâpho han na maw.
Shall any one declare thy mercy in the tomb? and thy truth in destruction?
12 Kângairu na sak e hah hmonae koe panue han na maw. Na lannae teh pahnim e ram dawk panue thai han na maw.
Shall thy wonders be known in darkness? and thy righteousness in a forgotten land?
13 Hatei, Oe BAWIPA, nang koevah ka hram. Amom ka ratoumnae nang koe a pha han.
But I cried to thee, O Lord; and in the morning shall my prayer prevent thee.
14 BAWIPA bangkongmaw ka hringnae hah na tâkhawng. Bangkongmaw kaimouh koehoi na minhmai na hro.
Wherefore, O Lord, dost thou reject my prayer, [and] turn thy face away from me?
15 Ka camo nah hoi runae ka khang teh, due hane coungkacoe ka o toe. Taki na thonae hah ka khang teh kabawmkung ka tawn hoeh.
I am poor and in troubles from my youth; and having been exalted, I was brought low and into despair.
16 Na lungkhueknae ni na ramuk teh, taki na thonae ni na raphoe toe.
Thy wrath has passed over me; and thy terrors have greatly disquieted me.
17 Hotnaw ni tui patetlah kanîloum totouh pou na ramuk teh na kalup.
They compassed me like water; all the day they beset me together.
18 Ka pahren e hoi ka huikonaw heh ahlanae koe a ta teh, ka panue e naw hai hmonae koe na o sak.
Thou hast put far from me [every] friend, and mine acquaintances because of [my] wretchedness.
