For the end, for alternate [strains], a testimony for Asaph, a Psalm concerning the Assyrian. Attend, O Shepherd of Israel, who guidest Joseph like a flock; thou who sittest upon the cherubs, manifest thyself;
2 Ephraim, Benjamin, hoi Manasseh hmalah na thaonae hah hroecoe nateh, tho nateh, na rungngang haw.
before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasse, stir up thy power, and come to deliver us.
3 Oe Cathut, na roung sak haw, na minhmai hah ang sak nateh, rungngang lah ka o awh han.
Turn us, O God, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be delivered.
4 Oe ransahu Cathut BAWIPA, na taminaw ratoumnae taranlahoi bangkong na lungkhuek.
O Lord God of hosts, how long art thou angry with the prayer of thy servant?
5 Mitphi rawca hoi na kawk teh, mitphi hah ka boum lah na pânei.
Thou wilt feed us with bread of tears; and wilt cause us to drink tears by measure.
6 Imrinaw ni yue hanelah na o sak teh, ka tarannaw ni na panuikhai awh.
Thou has made us a strife to our neighbours; and our enemies have mocked at us.
7 Oe Cathut, na roung sak haw, na minhmai hah ang sak nateh, rungngang lah ka o awh han. Oe ransabawi Cathut na roung sak haw. Na minhmai hah ang sak nateh, rungngang lah ka o han.
Turn us, O Lord God of hosts, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved. (Pause)
8 Izip hoi misurkung na la teh, Jentelnaw na pâlei teh na ung.
Thou hast transplanted a vine out of Egypt: thou hast cast out the heathen, and planted it.
9 Ahni hane hmuen na hmoun pouh. Kadung poung lah tangpha na payang teh ram pueng koung akawi.
Thou madest a way before it, and didst cause its roots to strike, and the land was filled [with it].
10 Mon hah a tâhlip hoi a ramuk teh, a kang teh kalen e sidar patetlah ao.
Its shadow covered the mountains, and its shoots [equalled] the goodly cedars.
11 A kangnaw ni talîpui a pha teh, a dawn teh tuipui koe a pha.
It sent forth its branches to the sea, and its shoots to the river.
12 Lam dawk kacetnaw pueng ni, a paw a khi awh nahanelah, Bangkongmaw tumdumnae rapan hah a raphoe awh.
Wherefore hast thou broken down its hedge, while all that pass by the way pluck it?
13 Ratu thung e pangan ni a hre teh, kahrawng sarang ni a ca awh.
The boar out of the wood has laid it waste, and the wild beast has devoured it.
14 Oe ransabawi Cathut, ka kâhei. Bout ban nateh, kalvan hoi hete misurkung hah, khen nateh, ring haw.
O God of hosts, turn, we pray thee: look on [us] from heaven, and behold and visit this vine;
15 Aranglae kut hoi na ung teh, nang hanlah thao sak e cakang misur patetlah ao han.
and restore that which thy right hand has planted: and look on the son of man whom thou didst strengthen for thyself.
16 Hmai dawk pâeng lah ao teh, tâtueng lah ao. Mei hoi mei kâhmo lah na yue e hah, khang thai laipalah koung a kahma awh.
[It is] burnt with fire and dug up: they shall perish at the rebuke of thy presence.
17 Aranglae kut dawk kaawm e tami, nang hanelah thao sak e tami capa lathueng vah, na kut hah awm lawiseh.
Let thy hand be upon the man of thy right hand, and upon the son of man whom thou didst strengthen for thyself.
18 Hottelah pawiteh, nang koehoi kamlang awh mahoeh. Na hring sak haw, na min ka kaw han.
So will we not depart from thee: thou shalt quicken us, and we will call upon thy name.
19 Oe Cathut, na roung sak haw, na minhmai hah ang sak nateh, rungngang lah ka o awh han. Oe ransahu Cathut na roung sak haw. Na minhmai hah ang sak nateh, rungngang lah ka o han.
Turn us, O Lord God of hosts, and make thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.
