< Sam 73 >
1 Kathutkung: Asaph Cathut teh Isarel hane hoi lungthin kathoungnaw hanelah ahawi tangngak.
A Psalm by Asaph. Surely God is good to Israel, to those who are pure in heart.
2 Hatei, kai raitat meimei ka rawp teh, meimei ka thawn toe.
But as for me, my feet were almost gone. My steps had nearly slipped.
3 Bangkongtetpawiteh, tamikathoutnaw e yawhawi ka hmu navah, kakaisuenaw hah ka ut toe.
For I was envious of the arrogant, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.
4 Ahnimouh teh a due awh hoehroukrak patawnae khang awh hoeh, a tha pou ao awh.
For there are no struggles in their death, but their strength is firm.
5 Ayânaw patetlah runae dawk awm awh hoeh, ayânaw patetlah kuekluek pataw awh hoeh.
They are free from burdens of men, neither are they plagued like other men.
6 Hatdawkvah, kâoupnae teh awi lah a awi awh teh, rektapnae khohna hah a khohna awh.
Therefore pride is like a chain around their neck. Violence covers them like a garment.
7 A thâw awh lawi vah, a mitkatueng awh. A pouk awh e hlak ka paphnawn a tawn awh.
Their eyes bulge with fat. Their minds pass the limits of conceit.
8 Repcoungroenae hah a panuikhai awh teh, kâoupnae lawk a dei awh.
They scoff and speak with malice. In arrogance, they threaten oppression.
9 A lawk dei e ni kalvan totouh a taran teh, a lai ni talai pueng a katin.
They have set their mouth in the heavens. Their tongue walks through the earth.
10 Hatdawkvah, a taminaw teh ahnimouh koe a ban awh teh, tui moikapap e hah koung a nei awh.
Therefore their people return to them, and they drink up waters of abundance.
11 Bangtelah hoi maw Cathut ni a panue. Lathueng Poung dawk panuenae ao maw telah ati awh.
They say, “How does God know? Is there knowledge in the Most High?”
12 Khenhaw! hetnaw heh Cathut ka bari hoeh e, banghai pouk laipalah ka hring e lah ao awh teh, hoehoe a tawnta awh.
Behold, these are the wicked. Being always at ease, they increase in riches.
13 Ka lungthin kathoung sak nakunghai, atangcalah cungkeihoeh. Yon thuengnae lahoi ka kut ka pâsu nakunghai cungkeihoeh.
Surely I have cleansed my heart in vain, and washed my hands in innocence,
14 Hnin tangkuem tarawknae hoi amom karoitawi yuenae doeh ka khang.
For all day long I have been plagued, and punished every morning.
If I had said, “I will speak thus”, behold, I would have betrayed the generation of your children.
16 Hetheh, thaipanuek nahanelah ka pouk torei teh, hothateh kai hanelah ka pataw katang e lah ao.
When I tried to understand this, it was too painful for me—
17 Cathut hmuen kathoung koe kâen toteh, ahnimouh poutnae heh ka thaipanuek katang toe.
until I entered God’s sanctuary, and considered their latter end.
18 Ahnimouh teh pâhnannae koe na ta teh, rawkphainae hmuen koe na tâkhawng.
Surely you set them in slippery places. You throw them down to destruction.
19 Oe, bangtelah, tawkkadek dawk rawknae koe louk a pha awh vaw. Takitho e ni koung louk a ca awh vaw.
How they are suddenly destroyed! They are completely swept away with terrors.
20 Kâhlaw toteh, karum mang patetlah, Bawipa na pâhlaw toteh, ahnimae meikaphawk hah na pacekpahlek pouh han.
As a dream when one wakes up, so, Lord, when you awake, you will despise their fantasies.
21 Hot patetlah ka lungthin a pataw teh, ka pouknae hai a ru.
For my soul was grieved. I was embittered in my heart.
I was so senseless and ignorant. I was a brute beast before you.
Nevertheless, I am continually with you. You have held my right hand.
24 Na mae kâpankhainae lahoi lam na hrawi teh, hathnukkhu bawilennae hah na coe pouh.
You will guide me with your counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.
Whom do I have in heaven? There is no one on earth whom I desire besides you.
26 Ka takthai hoi ka lungthin teh a tâwn. Hatei, Cathut teh, a yungyoe hoi ka lungthin thaonae hoi ham lah ao.
My flesh and my heart fails, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
27 Bangkongtetpawiteh, nang hoi kâhlat e teh, kahmat awh roeroe han doeh. Nang koe kâyawt e pueng teh raphoe lah ao han.
For, behold, those who are far from you shall perish. You have destroyed all those who are unfaithful to you.
28 Hateiteh, kai hanelah teh Cathut hnai e heh ahawi.
But it is good for me to come close to God. I have made the Lord GOD my refuge, that I may tell of all your works.
