< Sam 64 >

1 Kathutkung: Devit Oe Cathut, ka phuenangnae dawk, ka lawk na thai pouh haw. Ka tarannaw ka takinae koehoi ka hringnae na khetyawt lawih.
God, listen to me as I tell you the things that I am worried about. I am afraid of my enemies; so save/rescue me from them.
2 Tamikathoutnaw e kâdeikâpannae koehoi thoseh, Payonnae kasaknaw kamkhuengnae koehoi thoseh, na ngue haw.
Protect me from what wicked men are planning to do to me; protect me from that gang of men who do what is evil.
3 Ahnimouh ni amamae lai hah, tahloi patetlah a hran sak awh.
The hostile things they say [MTY] are like [SIM] [sharp] swords; their cruel words are like [SIM] arrows.
4 Yonnae ka tawn hoeh e tami hah arulahoi ka hanelah, lawkthoeumkha pala hoi a nue awh teh, takinae tawn laipalah vaitalahoi ouk a ka awh.
Without being afraid, they [lie about people and slander people] who have not done what is wrong, like someone who suddenly jumps up from where he is hiding and shoots [arrows] at his enemy [MET].
5 Hawihoehnae dawk buet touh hoi buet touh a kâhroecoe awh. Tangkhek patung hanelah a kâpan awh teh, apinimouh na hmu han vah ouk ati awh.
They encourage each other about doing the evil things that they are planning to do; they talk [with each other] about where they can set traps to catch people, and they think, “No one [RHQ] will see what we are doing,
6 Hawihoehnae hah ma hanelah a pâphue awh. Ngit a pâphue awh. Lungthin thung lengkaleng a pouknae teh a dungpoung.
because we have planned very well the crime that we are going to commit!” No one can fully understand what people can think and plan!
7 Ahnimouh teh Cathut ni pala hoi a ka vaiteh, pouk laipalah hmâ a ca awh han.
But [it will be as though] God will shoot his arrows at them, and suddenly they will be wounded.
8 A dei awh e lawk dawk letlang a rawp sak vaiteh, ka hmawt e pueng ni a yawng takhai awh han.
Because of what they say [MTY], he will get rid of them, and then everyone who sees [what has happened to] them will shake their heads [to ridicule them].
9 Tami pueng ni taket vaiteh, Cathut ni a sak e doeh tie a pâpho awh han. Bangkongtetpawiteh, hmantang a sak awh e hah a pouk awh han.
And then everyone will be afraid [to sin because of what might happen to them, also]; they will tell others what God has done, and they themselves will think much about it.
10 Tamikalan teh BAWIPA dawk konawm vaiteh, ama hah a kâuep han. A lungthin kalan e pueng ni a pholen awh han.
Righteous people should rejoice because of what Yahweh [has done]; they should go to him to (find protection/be safe); and all those who are godly will praise him.
