[A Psalm] of David. Rejoice in the Lord, you righteous; praise becomes the upright.
2 Ratoung hoi BAWIPA teh pholen awh. rui hra touh e ratoung hoi pholen awh.
Praise the Lord on the harp; platy to him on a lute of ten strings.
3 Ama koe la katha sak awh nateh, lunghawilawk hoi kathoum katang lahoi kueng awh.
Sing to him a new song; play skillfully with a loud noise.
4 Bangkongtetpawiteh, BAWIPA lawk teh a lan, a tawk e pueng teh yuemkamculah ao.
For the word of the Lord is right; and all his works are faithful.
5 Lannae hoi kângingnae hah a lungpataw teh, talai teh BAWIPA hawinae hoi koung akawi.
He loves mercy and judgment; the earth is full the mercy of the Lord.
6 BAWIPA e lawk hoi kalvannaw sak lah ao teh, kalvan kaawm e pueng hai a kâko hoi e kâha hoi sak e seng doeh.
By the word of the Lord the heavens were established; and all the host of them by the breath of his [mouth].
7 Talîpui tuinaw hah a pâkhueng teh, kadungpoung e tuinaw hah ao nahane hmuen koe a hruek.
Who gathers the waters of the sea as [in] a bottle; who lays up the deeps in treasuries.
8 Talai pueng ni BAWIPA taket naseh, talaivan kaawm e pueng ni ama teh taket awh naseh.
Let all the earth fear the Lord; and let all that dwell in the world be moved because of him.
9 Bangkongtetpawiteh, lawk a dei boteh ao. Kâ a poe boteh, kacaklah hmawi a kangdue.
For he spoke, and they were made; he commanded, and they were created.
10 BAWIPA ni miphunlouknaw e kâpannae teh a takhoe toe. Tamimaya ni sutpouknae hai banghai bang hoeh lah a coung sak.
The Lord frustrates the counsels of the nations; he brings to nothing also the reasonings of the peoples, and brings to nothing the counsels of princes.
11 BAWIPA ni kâpankhai e teh a yungyoe a kangning. Sut a pouk e teh catounnaw hane totouh a cak.
But the counsel of the Lord endures for ever, the thoughts of his heart from generation to generation.
12 A Cathut Jehovah lah kaawm e miphun teh a yawhawi. Ama ni râw lah a rawi e miphun teh, tami yawkahawi e doeh.
Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; the people whom he has chosen for his own inheritance.
13 BAWIPA ni kalvan hoi a khet teh, tami capa pueng koung a hmu.
The Lord looks out of heaven; he beholds all the sons of men.
14 A onae hmuen koehoi talai van kaawm e pueng koung a radoung.
He looks from his prepared habitation on all the dwellers on the earth;
15 Tami pueng e lungthin koung a pathoup teh, a sak e puenghai koung a pouk pouh.
who fashioned their hearts alone; who understands all their works.
16 Siangpahrang teh ransa moikapap a tawn dawk rungngang lah awm hoeh. Tami a tha kaawm hai a thaonae ni rungngang mahoeh.
A king is not saved by reason of a great host; and a giant shall not be delivered by the greatness of his strength.
17 Marang teh rungngang nahanelah cungkeihoehe ngaihawinae doeh. Thaonae kalen ni hai rungngang thai hoeh.
A horse is vain for safety; neither shall he be delivered by the greatness of his power.
18 Duenae koehoi hringnae rasa hane hoi takang dawk due hoeh nahanlah,
Behold, the eyes of the Lord are on them that fear him, those that hope in his mercy;
19 khenhaw! BAWIPA e mit ni ama ka taketnaw koe pou a khet.
to deliver their souls from death, and to keep them alive in famine.
20 Ka hringnae ni BAWIPA a ring, ama teh kabawmkung hoi ka bahling doeh.
Our soul waits on the Lord; for he is our helper and defender.
21 Bangkongtetpawiteh, ka lungthin teh ama dawk a konawm han. Bangkongtetpawiteh, a min kathoung teh kâuep awh.
For our heart shall rejoice in him, and we have hoped in his holy name.
22 Oe BAWIPA, nang dawk ngaihawinae ka tawn awh e patetlah na pahrennae teh, kaimouh lathueng awm lawiseh.
Let your mercy, O Lord, be upon us, according as we have hoped in you.
