< Sam 2 >
1 Kathutkung: Devit Miphunnaw teh bangkongmaw ruengruengti awh. Tamimaya teh bangkongmaw ayawmyin hno a sak awh.
Why have the Gentiles been seething, and why have the people been pondering nonsense?
2 BAWIPA hoi Messiah taran lahoi, talai bawinaw cungtalah a kamkhueng awh teh, lawkcengkungnaw cungtalah kho a khang awh.
The kings of the earth have stood up, and the leaders have joined together as one, against the Lord and against his Christ:
3 Tho awh. A kâkateknae naw hah ratham pouh sei. Kâkateknae rui hah tâkhawng pouh sei.
“Let us shatter their chains and cast their yoke away from us.”
4 Kalvan ka tahung e ni panuikhai vaiteh, Bawipa ni panuilai lah a sak han.
He who dwells in heaven will ridicule them, and the Lord will mock them.
5 Hahoi, lungkhuek laihoi ahnimouh koe lawk dei vaiteh, puenghoi a lungrei a thaisak han.
Then will he speak to them in his anger and trouble them with his fury.
6 Hateiteh, kaie mon kathoung Zion vah, ka siangpahrang ka ta toe.
Yet I have been appointed king by him over Zion, his holy mountain, preaching his precepts.
7 BAWIPA ni nang teh ka Capa doeh. Sahnin vah na khe telah kai koe a dei e hah ka pâpho han.
The Lord has said to me: You are my son, this day have I begotten you.
8 Kai koe het haw. Râw lah miphunnaw na poe vaiteh, talai pout ditouh na coe hanelah na poe han.
Ask of me and I will give to you: the Gentiles for your inheritance, and the ends of the earth for your possession.
9 Sumtaboung hoi na uk vaiteh, talai hlaamkabokung ni a hem e patetlah rek na hem han.
You will rule them with an iron rod, and you will shatter them like a potter’s vessel.
10 Hatdawkvah, Oe siangpahrangnaw, na lungang awh leih. Talai lawkcengkungnaw yuenae kâhmo awh haw.
And now, O kings, understand. Receive instruction, you who judge the earth.
11 Taki laihoi BAWIPA thaw tawk awh haw. Pâyaw laihoi konawm awh.
Serve the Lord in fear, and exult in him with trembling.
12 Capa teh pahnuem awh. Hoehpawiteh, a lungkhuek payon vaih. Dongdeng a lungphuen toteh, lam vah koung na kahmat payon vaih. Ama kâuep e pueng teh tami yawkahawi e doeh.
Embrace discipline, lest at any time the Lord might become angry, and you would perish from the way of the just. Though his wrath can flare up in a short time, blessed are all those who trust in him.
