1 Kathutkung: Devit, Bawipa e san, Devit ni Sawl koehoi taran kut dawk hoi, hloutsaknae hawinae coe torei teh, BAWIPA hmalah sak e la Oe ka thaonae BAWIPA, nang teh na lungpataw han.
To the Overseer. — By a servant of Jehovah, by David, who hath spoken to Jehovah the words of this song in the day Jehovah delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from the hand of Saul, and he saith: — I love Thee, O Jehovah, my strength.
2 BAWIPA teh kaie lungsong, kaie rapan, kaie rungngangkung lah ao. Kaie Cathut, ka thaonae, ka kâuep e bahling hoi ka rungngangnae ki hoi ka rapanim lah ao.
Jehovah [is] my rock, and my bulwark, And my deliverer, My God [is] my rock, I trust in Him: My shield, and a horn of my salvation, My high tower.
3 Pholen kamcu BAWIPA teh ka kaw vaiteh, ka tarannaw um hoi rungngang lah ka o han.
The 'Praised One' I call Jehovah, And from my enemies I am saved.
4 Due patawnae ni na kalup, Cathut takihoehnae tuikalen ni na taki sak.
Compassed me have cords of death, And streams of the worthless make me afraid.
5 Sheol lungmathoenae ni na kalup teh, duenae tangkam ni na kangdue sin. (Sheol )
Cords of Sheol have surrounded me, Before me have been snares of death. (Sheol )
6 Kângairu kecu dawk BAWIPA ka kaw teh, ka Cathut koe ka hram. A Bawkim koehoi na thai pouh teh, a hmalah ka hramnae hah a hnâ koe a pha.
In mine adversity I call Jehovah, And unto my God I cry. He heareth from His temple my voice, And My cry before Him cometh into His ears.
7 Hottelah, talai a kâhuet teh a pâyaw. A lungkhuek dawkvah, mondunaw totouh a pâyaw teh, a kâhuet awh.
And shake and tremble doth the earth, And foundations of hills are troubled, And they shake — because He hath wrath.
8 A hnawng dawk hoi hmaikhu a luen takhang teh, a pahni dawk hoi ka tâcawt e hmai ni, koung a kak awh teh, hote e niyah hmaisaan a kaman sak.
Gone up hath smoke by His nostrils, And fire from His mouth consumeth, Coals have been kindled by it.
9 Ama ni kalvan a kamkuisak teh, a kum cathuk. A khok rahim vah hmonae teh ao.
And He inclineth the heavens, and cometh down, And thick darkness [is] under His feet.
10 Cherub a kâcui teh a kamleng. Kahlî rathei van vah a kamleng.
And He rideth on a cherub, and doth fly, And He flieth on wings of wind.
11 Hmonae teh ka dungpoung e hmuen lah a coung sak. Tui hmonae hoi kathapoung e kalvan tâmai hah ama kangangkung lah ao.
He maketh darkness His secret place, Round about Him His tabernacle, Darkness of waters, thick clouds of the skies.
12 A hmalae angnae ni, kathapoung e tâmai a kâhin sak teh, roun hoi hmaisaan a bo.
From the brightness over-against Him His thick clouds have passed on, Hail and coals of fire.
13 BAWIPA ni kalvan hoi khoparit sak, A Lathueng Poung Cathut ni a lawk a tâcosak.
And thunder in the heavens doth Jehovah, And the Most High giveth forth His voice, Hail and coals of fire.
14 A lipala hah a pathui teh, a taran hah a pâyaw sak. Sumpa a palik sak teh, koung a tâ.
And He sendeth His arrows and scattereth them, And much lightning, and crusheth them.
15 Oe BAWIPA, na yuenae hoi na hnawng dawk e kâha ni a hmu dawkvah, talî laheipadin teh koung a kamnue teh, talaivan e dunaw teh a kamnue awh.
And seen are the streams of waters, And revealed are foundations of the earth. From Thy rebuke, O Jehovah, From the breath of the spirit of Thine anger.
16 Lathueng hoi na kut na dâw teh, moikapap e tui thung hoi na rasa toe.
He sendeth from above — He taketh me, He draweth me out of many waters.
17 A thakaawmpounge ka taran kut dawk hoi na rungngang teh, na ka hmuhma ni teh athakaawmpounge naw koehoi haiyah na rungngang.
He delivereth me from my strong enemy, And from those hating me, For they have been stronger than I.
18 Ahnimouh ni runae ka kâhmo navah, na kangdue sin awh. Hatei, BAWIPA teh ka kâuep e doeh.
They go before me in a day of my calamity And Jehovah is for a support to me.
19 A hmuen kaw poung koe kai hah na thak. Kai dawk a lunghawi dawkvah, na rungngang.
And He bringeth me forth to a large place, He draweth me out, because He delighted in me.
20 BAWIPA ni, ka lannae patetlah aphu na poe. Ka kut a thoung e patetlah na patho toe.
Jehovah doth recompense me According to my righteousness, According to the cleanness of my hands, He doth return to me.
21 Bangkongtetpawiteh, BAWIPA e lamthung hah ka pâkuem teh, ka Cathut teh kahawihoeh lahoi ka cettakhai boihoeh.
For I have kept the ways of Jehovah, And have not done wickedly against my God.
22 Bangkongtetpawiteh, a lawkcengnae pueng teh ka hmalah ao teh, a coungnae hah ka tâkhawng boihoeh.
For all His judgments [are] before me, And His statutes I turn not from me.
23 A hmaitung toun awm laipalah ka o teh, payonnae hah ka roun.
And I am perfect with him, And I keep myself from mine iniquity.
24 Hatdawkvah, BAWIPA ni ka lannae patetlah na patho. A mithmu ka thoungnae patetlah na patho.
And Jehovah doth return to me, According to my righteousness, According to the cleanness of my hands, Over-against his eyes.
25 Tami ka pahren e koe pahrennae na kamnue sak vaiteh, tamikalan koe lannae hah na kamnue sak han.
With the kind Thou showest Thyself kind, With a perfect man showest Thyself perfect.
26 Tami kathoung koe na thoungnae na kamnue sak vaiteh, tami ka taran e koe tarannae hah na kamnue sak han.
With the pure Thou showest Thyself pure, And with the perverse showest Thyself a wrestler,
27 Bangkongtetpawiteh, kârahnoumnaw hah, na rungngang teh, kâoupnaw hah na pabo han.
For Thou a poor people savest, And the eyes of the high causest to fall.
28 Ka hmaiim hah na ang sak teh, BAWIPA ka Cathut ni kaie hmonae hah a ang sak han.
For Thou — Thou lightest my lamp, Jehovah my God enlighteneth my darkness.
29 Nang pawlawk lahoi ransahu hah ka raphoe han. Ka Cathut pawlawk lahoi khorapan ka kawi thai han.
For by Thee I run — a troop! And by my God I leap a wall.
30 Cathut e lamthung teh a kuep. BAWIPA e lawk teh a thoung dawkvah, Ama kâuep e tami pueng hanelah bahling lah ao.
God! perfect [is] His way, The saying of Jehovah is tried, A shield [is] He to all those trusting in Him.
31 Bangkongtetpawiteh, BAWIPA laipateh, bangpatet e Cathut alouke maw kaawm.
For who [is] God besides Jehovah? And who [is] a rock save our God?
32 Thaonae hoi na kapathoupkung teh Cathut doeh. Ka lamthung hai a kuep sak.
God! who is girding me [with] strength, And He maketh perfect my way.
33 Ama ni ka khok heh sayuk khok patetlah a sak teh, a hmuen rasangnae koe na o sak.
Making my feet like hinds, And on my high places causeth me to stand.
34 Ka kut heh tarantuknae a cangkhai. Hatdawkvah, ka kut ni rahum licung patenghai a sawn thai.
Teaching my hands for battle, And a bow of brass was brought down by my arms.
35 Na rungngangnae bahling hai na poe toe. Aranglae kut hoi na kuet, na panguepnae ni na tawmdawm.
And Thou givest to me the shield of Thy salvation, And Thy right hand doth support me, And Thy lowliness maketh me great.
36 Ka ceinae lamthung na kaw sak dawkvah, tâlaw laipalah ka o.
Thou enlargest my step under me, And mine ankles have not slidden.
37 Ka taran ka pâlei teh ka pha. Koung ka raphoe hoehroukrak ka ban takhai boihoeh.
I pursue mine enemies, and overtake them, And turn back not till they are consumed.
38 Bout a thaw thai hoeh nahanelah, hmâ ka paca teh, ka khok rahim koung a rawp awh.
I smite them, and they are not able to rise, They fall under my feet,
39 Tarantuk hanelah na pathoup toung dawkvah, na katarankung teh ka rahim vah tâ lah ao.
And Thou girdest me [with] strength for battle, Causest my withstanders to bow under me.
40 Ka taran teh na yawng sak. Hottelah na kahmuhmanaw heh ka raphoe.
As to mine enemies — Thou hast given to me the neck, As to those hating me — I cut them off.
41 Ahnimouh teh a hram awh. Hatei, ahnimouh rungngangkung awm hoeh. BAWIPA koe a hram awh ei, pato hoeh.
They cry, and there is no saviour, On Jehovah, and He doth not answer them.
42 Hottelah, vaiphu kahlî ni a palek e patetlah dikkaneng lah ka nep teh, lamthung dawk e songnawng patetlah ka tâkhawng.
And I beat them as dust before wind, As mire of the streets I empty them out.
43 Ka yonnaw thung hoi na rungngang teh, miphunnaw e lû lah na coung sak. Ka panue hoeh e naw ni ka thaw a tawk awh han.
Thou dost deliver me From the strivings of the people, Thou placest me for a head of nations, A people I have not known do serve me.
44 Ka lawk a thai awh tahma vah, a tarawi awh teh, ramlouk taminaw hai kai koe a kâhei awh.
At the hearing of the ear they hearken to me, Sons of a stranger feign obedience to me,
45 Ramlouk taminaw teh koung a yawng awh teh, a kâhronae hmuen koehoi, taki laihoi a tâco awh.
Sons of a stranger fade away, And are slain out of their close places.
46 BAWIPA teh a hring. Kaie lungsong teh pholen lah awm seh. Kaie rungngangnae Cathut teh tawm lah awm seh.
Jehovah liveth — and blessed [is] my rock, And exalted is the God of my salvation.
47 Cathut teh moipathung pouh kung lah ao teh, ka rahim e taminaw katâkung lah ao.
God — who is giving vengeance to me, And He subdueth peoples under me,
48 Ka tarannaw koehoi na rungngang teh, na katarankungnaw lathueng vah, na tawm. Rektapnaw kut dawk hoi na rungngang.
My deliverer from mine enemies, Above my withstanders Thou raisest me, From a man of violence dost deliver me.
49 Hatdawkvah BAWIPA, Jentelnaw rahak vah, nang koe lunghawilawk ka dei vaiteh, na min pholen hoi la ka sak han.
Therefore I confess Thee among nations, O Jehovah, And to Thy name I sing praise,
50 A siangpahrang koevah, ka len e hloutnae a poe teh, satui awi e Devit hoi, a catounnaw lathueng vah, a yungyoe hoi a lungmanae a kamnue sak.
Magnifying the salvation of His king, And doing kindness to His anointed, To David, and to his seed — unto the age!
