< Sam 16 >
1 Kathutkung: Devit Oe Cathut, na roum sak haw. Bangkongtetpawiteh, nang doeh na kângue.
“A Michtham of David.” Preserve me, O God; for I have placed my trust in thee.
2 Oe ka hringnae, Jehovah koe nang teh ka Bawipapa doeh, nang laipateh ka hawinae hah banghai bang hoeh lah ao telah dei haw.
[O my soul], thou hast said unto the Lord, Thou art my Lord: my happiness is not without thee;
3 Talaivan kaawm e tami kathoungnaw hanelah, ahnimouh teh tami kahawi katang, ka konawmnae pueng onae doeh telah ka ti.
[But] in the saints who are on the earth, and in the excellent—in them is all my delight.
4 Karangpoung lah cathut louk hnukkâbangnaw teh, rucatnae moi a khang awh han. Awi hane thuengnae thi hah ka poe mahoeh. Ka pahni hoi a min hai ka dei mahoeh.
Multiplied shall be the sorrows of those who give presents to another god: I will not pour out their drink-offerings of blood, nor bear their names upon my lips.
5 Oe BAWIPA, nang teh ka ham hoi ka manang lah na o teh, ka ham hah na cak sak.
Thou, O Lord, art the portion of my inheritance, and my cup; thou hast drawn my lot.
6 Ka khori teh, kai hanlah kahawipoung e ram dawk a kâen. Kahawi katang e râw teh ka coe han.
My possessions are fallen in agreeable places: yea, my heritage is pleasant to me.
7 Pouknae na kapoekung BAWIPA teh ka pholen han. Karum hai ka lungthin ni kahringnae a hroecoe.
I will bless the Lord, who hath given me counsel: also in the night seasons my reins admonish me.
8 BAWIPA teh kahma lah pou ka hruek. Ama teh aranglae kut lah ao dawkvah, ka kâhuen mahoeh.
I have always set the Lord before me, that, being at my right hand, I might not be moved.
9 Hatdawkvah, ka lungthin a lunghawi teh, ka bawilennae teh a konawm. Ka takthai hai ngaihawinae hoi a kâhat han.
Therefore is rejoiced my heart, and my spirit is glad: also my flesh shall rest in safety.
10 Bangkongtetpawiteh, ka muitha teh phuen vah na cettakhai mahoeh. Na tami kathoung teh pawklawi e na pasoung mahoeh. (Sheol )
For thou wilt not abandon my soul to the grave: thou wilt not suffer thy pious [servant] to see corruption. (Sheol )
11 Hringnae lamthung na hmu sak han. Nang koe konawmnae ka kuep teh ao. Nange aranglae kut dawk a yungyoe nawmnae teh ao.
Thou wilt let me know the path of life: fulness of joy is in thy presence; pleasures are at thy right hand for evermore.
