The getting of treasures by a lying tongue [is] a vanity tossed to and fro by them that seek death.

[It is] joy to the just to do judgment: but destruction [shall be] to the workers of iniquity.

He that loveth pleasure [shall be] a poor man: he that loveth wine and oil shall not be rich.

The wicked [shall be] a ransom for the righteous, and the transgressor for the upright.
19 A lungkaduem ni teh ka hrawang e yu hoi o hlak teh, ramkenae koe awm pawiteh bet ahawihnawn.
[It is] better to dwell in the wilderness, than with a contentious and an angry woman.
20 Tamilungkaang onae koe hno ngai kaawm hoi satui ao teh, tamipathu ni teh a kaseikasak.
[There is] a treasure to be desired, and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a foolish man spendeth it up.

The desire of the slothful killeth him; for his hands refuse to labor.
26 Hnintangkuem nôe laihoi ao, hatei tamikalan niteh pasai laipalah a poe.
He coveteth greedily all the day long: but the righteous giveth and spareth not.
27 Tamikathout e thuengnae teh panuet a tho, hnokathout ngainae lungthin hoi thuengnae teh panuet hoe a tho.
The sacrifice of the wicked [is] abomination: how much more, [when] he bringeth it with a wicked mind?
28 Kapanuekkhaikung kaphawk teh takhoe lah ao han, hatei kapanuekkhaikung katang ni a panue e patetlah a dei e teh dâw lah ao han.
A false witness shall perish: but the man that heareth speaketh constantly.
29 Tamikathout ni a minhmai tamundun lah a ta, hatei tamikalan ni a lamthung a cak sak.
A wicked man hardeneth his face: but [as for] the upright, he directeth his way.
