< Cingthuilawk 21 >
1 Siangpahrang lungthin teh tui ka lawng e patetlah ao teh, BAWIPA kut dawk ao dawkvah, a ngainae koe lah a lawng sak.
The king’s heart is in the hand of Yhwh, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.
2 Ma e hmunae dawk teh mae hringnuen heh a lan telah pouk awh, hatei BAWIPA ni lungthin heh yawcu dawk a khing.
Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: But Yhwh pondereth the hearts.
3 Lannae hoi kânging lah sak e heh thuengnae hlak BAWIPA ni a ngaihnawn.
To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to Yhwh than sacrifice.
4 Kâoupnae minhmai hoi lunglennae lungthin hoi tamikathoutnaw e hmaiim teh yon doeh.
An high look, and a proud heart, and the plowing of the wicked, is sin.
5 Tami ka hratbat e pouknae ni tawntannae a tâcokhai, hatei kâhruetcuet hoeh e pouknae ni voutnae a tâcokhai.
The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; but of every one that is hasty only to want.
6 Laithoe dei laihoi hmu e hnopai teh duenae ka tawng ni teh kahmat e patetlah ao.
The getting of treasures by a lying tongue is a vanity tossed to and fro of them that seek death.
7 Tamikathoutnaw e lawpnae ni amamouh a raphoe han, bangkongtetpawiteh kânginglah lawkcengnae hah a pahnawt awh.
The robbery of the wicked shall destroy them; because they refuse to do judgment.
8 Tamikayon e lamthung teh a longkawi, hatei tamikalan hanelah teh a tawk e hah kalan e doeh.
The way of man is perverse and laden with guilt: but as for the pure, his work is right.
9 Ka hrawang e yu hoi im kalen dawk o hlak teh, lemphu imtakin koe awm pawiteh bet ahawihnawn.
It is better to dwell in a corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman in a wide house.
10 Tamikathout hringnae ni hnokathout a ngai, a imrinaw ni ahnie pahrennae hmawt awh hoeh.
The soul of the wicked desireth evil: his neighbour findeth no favour in his eyes.
11 Kadudame taminaw reknae dawkvah kamawngrame ni lungang a kâla awh, hatei tamilungkaangnaw cangkhai navah panuenae a hmu awh.
When the scorner is punished, the simple is made wise: and when the wise is instructed, he receiveth knowledge.
12 Tamikalan ni tamikathout imthung hah kahawicalah a pouk, hatei Cathut ni tamikathoutnaw teh amamae thoenae lahoi a tâkhawng.
The righteous man wisely considereth the house of the wicked: but God overthroweth the wicked for their wickedness.
13 Tamimathoe hramnae lawk thai ngai laipalah a hnâ ka tabuem e teh, ama hai a hram toteh apinihai thai pouh mahoeh.
Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard.
14 Arulahoi poe e poehno ni lungphuennae, a lungtabue dawk poe e tadawnghno ni puenghoi lungkhueknae a roum sak.
A gift in secret pacifieth anger: and a reward in the bosom strong wrath.
15 Kalan lah lawkcengnae e teh tamikalan hanelah konawmnae doeh, hatei yonnae kasaknaw teh rawknae koe a pha awh han.
It is joy to the just to do judgment: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity.
16 Thaipanueknae lam kaphennaw teh tamikadoutnaw kamkhuengnae koe a kâhat van han.
The man that wandereth out of the way of understanding shall remain in the congregation of the dead.
17 Nawmnae dueng ka ngai e teh a mathoe han, misurtui hoi satui ka ngai poung e teh tawnta mahoeh.
He that loveth pleasure shall be a poor man: he that loveth wine and oil shall not be rich.
18 Tamikathout teh tamikalan hanelah, Yuemkamcuhoeh e teh tamikalan ratangnae lah ao.
The wicked shall be a ransom for the righteous, and the transgressor for the upright.
19 A lungkaduem ni teh ka hrawang e yu hoi o hlak teh, ramkenae koe awm pawiteh bet ahawihnawn.
It is better to dwell in the wilderness, than with a contentious and an angry woman.
20 Tamilungkaang onae koe hno ngai kaawm hoi satui ao teh, tamipathu ni teh a kaseikasak.
There is treasure to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a foolish man spendeth it up.
21 Lannae hoi lungmanae katawngnaw ni hringnae hoi lannae hoi barinae ouk a hmu awh.
He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness, and honour.
22 Tamilungkaang ni kacakpounge khopui dawk a kâen teh, khocanaw ni a kângue e rapanim hah a tip sak.
A wise man scaleth the city of the mighty, and casteth down the strength of the confidence thereof.
23 A laihoi a pahni ka ring e teh runae thung hoi a hringnae ouk a hlout.
Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles.
24 Tami moikai hoi kâoup e teh a min patenghai dudamkung telah a phung awh teh, kâoup lungkhuek laihoi ouk a kâroe.
Proud and haughty scorner is his name, who dealeth in proud wrath.
25 Tami ka pangak e teh thaw a tawk ngaihoeh dawkvah, a doun e ni ama a thei.
The desire of the slothful killeth him; for his hands refuse to labour.
26 Hnintangkuem nôe laihoi ao, hatei tamikalan niteh pasai laipalah a poe.
He coveteth greedily all the day long: but the righteous giveth and spareth not.
27 Tamikathout e thuengnae teh panuet a tho, hnokathout ngainae lungthin hoi thuengnae teh panuet hoe a tho.
The sacrifice of the wicked is abomination: how much more, when he bringeth it with a wicked mind?
28 Kapanuekkhaikung kaphawk teh takhoe lah ao han, hatei kapanuekkhaikung katang ni a panue e patetlah a dei e teh dâw lah ao han.
A false witness shall perish: but the man that heareth speaketh constantly.
29 Tamikathout ni a minhmai tamundun lah a ta, hatei tamikalan ni a lamthung a cak sak.
A wicked man hardeneth his face: but as for the upright, he directeth his way.
30 BAWIPA taranlahoi lungangnae, thaipanueknae, hoi kâpankhainae awm hoeh.
There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against Yhwh.
31 Marangtan teh tarantuk hnin hanelah rakueng lah ao, tânae teh BAWIPA e doeh.
The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of Yhwh.
