1 Lungthin hoi pouknae teh tami e doeh, hatei laihoi bout deinae teh BAWIPA koehoi e doeh.
Arrangements of the heart [are] of man, An answer of the tongue from YHWH.
2 Tami hmunae pueng heh ama ni hmunae lahoi teh a thoung, hatei BAWIPA ni muitha hah yawcu dawk a khing.
All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes, And YHWH is pondering the spirits.
3 Na thaw teh BAWIPA dawk poe haw na pouknae caksak lah ao han.
Roll your works to YHWH, And your purposes are established,
4 BAWIPA ni bangpueng hai ama hanelah a sak. Tamikathoutnaw haiyah thoenae kâhmo hnin hanelah sak e lah ao.
YHWH has worked all things for Himself, And also the wicked—for a day of evil.
5 A lungthin hoi kâoup e tami teh BAWIPA han lah panuet a tho, a lung kânging awh nakunghai, rek lah ao mingming han.
Every proud one of heart [is] an abomination to YHWH, Hand to hand—he is not acquitted.
6 Lungmanae hoi yonthanae lawkkatang teh BAWIPA takinae lahoi tami ni yonnae ouk a ceitakhai.
Iniquity is pardoned in kindness and truth, And in the fear of YHWH Turn aside from evil.
7 Tami e hringnuen ni BAWIPA a lungyouk torei teh, a taran hoi patenghai a kâpo sak.
When a man’s ways please YHWH, even his enemies, He causes to be at peace with him.
8 Kamsoumhoehe lahoi moikapap tawn e hlak teh, lannae lahoi yitca tawn e ahawihnawn.
Better [is] a little with righteousness, Than abundance of increase without justice.
9 Tami e lungthin ni amae lamthung ouk a pouk, hatei BAWIPA ni teh a khoktakan hah ouk a hrawi.
The heart of man devises his way, And YHWH establishes his step.
10 Siangpahrang pahni dawk Cathut lawk pâpho hane ao, lawkcengnae koe a pahni a payon sak hanelah awm hoeh.
An oath [is] on the lips of a king, In judgment his mouth does not trespass.
11 Kânging e yawcu hoi khinglung teh BAWIPA e doeh, congko dawk e khinglung puenghai a kut thawtawknae doeh.
A just beam and balances [are] YHWH’s, All the stones of the bag [are] His work.
12 Thoenae lahoi sak e heh siangpahrang hanelah teh panuet a tho, bangkongtetpawiteh, bawitungkhung teh lannae lahoi caksak lah ao.
Doing wickedness [is] an abomination to kings, For a throne is established by righteousness.
13 Lannae pahni teh siangpahrang hanelah konawmnae lah ao teh, lawkkatang kadeinaw hah a lungpataw.
Righteous lips [are] the delight of kings, And he loves whoever is speaking uprightly,
14 Siangpahrang lungkhueknae teh duenae patounenaw patetlah ao, hatei tamilungkaang ni teh a roum sak han.
The fury of a king [is] messengers of death, And a wise man pacifies it.
15 Siangpahrang mithmaiang dawk hringnae ao, a ngaikhainae teh a hnukteng e kho tâmai patetlah ao.
In the light of a king’s face [is] life, And his goodwill [is] as a cloud of the spring rain.
16 Sui hlak hai lungangnae tawn e heh banghloimaw ahawi, hahoi ngun hlak hai thaipanueknae heh kârawi hanelah ao.
To get wisdom—how much better than gold, And to get understanding—to be chosen [more] than silver!
17 Tamikalannaw e lamthung teh yonnae ceitakhai e hah doeh, a lamthung ka ring e ni a hringnae a ring.
A highway of the upright [is] to turn from evil, Whoever is preserving his soul is watching his way.
18 Rawk hoehnahlan kâoupnae ao teh, rawp hoehnahlan lunglennae muitha ao.
Pride [is] before destruction, And before stumbling—a haughty spirit.
19 Kâoupnae lahoi lawphno kârei hlak teh, kârahnoumnae hoi ka rahnoumcalah o e ahawihnawn.
Better is humility of spirit with the poor, Than to apportion spoil with the proud.
20 Kâhruetcuetcalah hoi lawk ka tarawi e ni hnokahawi a hmu vaiteh, BAWIPA ka kâuep e teh tami yawkahawi e doeh.
The wise in any matter finds good, And whoever is trusting in YHWH, O his blessedness.
21 Lungthin hoi a lungkaang e teh kho ka pouk e doeh tie lah ao vaiteh, lawkradip ni thoumthainae a pung sak.
For the wise in heart is called intelligent, And sweetness of lips increases learning.
22 Thaipanueknae heh ka tawn hanelah teh hringnae tuiphuek lah ao teh, tamipathunaw e cangkhainae teh pathunae doeh.
Understanding [is] a fountain of life to its possessors, The instruction of fools is folly.
23 Tamilungkaang ni teh a pahni hah a cangkhai teh, a pahni hoi thoumthainae hah ouk a kâthap.
The heart of the wise causes his mouth to act wisely, And he increases learning by his lips,
24 Lawkkahawi teh khoipha patetlah ao, hring nahanelah a radip teh hru hanelah damnae lah ao.
Sayings of pleasantness [are] a honeycomb, Sweet to the soul, and healing to the bone.
25 Tami pouknae lateh lamkalan lah a kamcu ei, apoutnae koe teh duenae lamthung doeh.
There is a way right before a man, And its latter end—ways of death.
26 Thaw ka tawk e teh ama hanelah doeh a tawk, bangkongtetpawiteh a vonhlamnae pahni ni a patoun e doeh.
A laboring man has labored for himself, For his mouth has caused [him] to bend over it.
27 Cathut ka taket hoeh e ni thoenae tangkom a tai teh, a pahni teh hmaisaan patetlah ao.
A worthless man is preparing evil, And on his lips [is] as a burning fire.
28 Lungthin longkawi ni kâyuenae cati a kahei teh, tamcueklawk ka dei e ni hai huiko a kapek.
A contrary man sends forth contention, A tale-bearer is separating a familiar friend.
29 Kaisue e ni a imri a pasawtpanep teh, hawihoehnae lamthung dawk ouk a hrawi.
A violent man entices his neighbor, And causes him to go in a way [that is] not good.
30 A mitmasip teh kahawihoehe dueng doeh a pouk, a pahni a kâroe sak teh thoenae dueng doeh a tâco sak.
Consulting his eyes to devise contrary things, Moving his lips he has accomplished evil.
31 Lannae lamthung dawk hmu e lah awm pawiteh, sampo teh bawilennae bawilakhung doeh.
Grey hairs [are] a crown of beauty, It is found in the way of righteousness.
32 Athakaawme tami hlak a lungkasaw e tami ahawihnawn, a hringnae kâcakuep thai e kaukkung teh khopui ka lawm e hlak ahawihnawn.
Better [is] the [one] slow to anger than the mighty, And the ruler over his spirit than he who is taking a city.
33 Congko dawk cungpam teh rayu lah ao, hatei laideitâtuengnae pueng teh BAWIPA e doeh.
The lot is cast into the center, And all its judgment [is] from YHWH!
