1 Obadiah ni a hmu e kamnuenae: Bawipa Jehovah ni Edom ram hanelah a dei e lawk teh, BAWIPA e hram lawk teh maimouh ni thai awh toe. Nangmouh thaw awh nateh Edom ram tuk hanelah cet awh leih titeh Jentelnaw koe laicei a patoun toe.
The vision of Obadiah. Thus saith the Lord GOD concerning Edom: We have heard tidings from the LORD, and an ambassador is sent among the nations, [saying], Arise ye, and let us rise up against her in battle.
2 Nang teh Jentelnaw e hmalah kathoengca lah na ta, Jentelnaw ni na hnephnap awh han.
Behold, I have made thee small among the nations: thou art greatly despised.
3 Talungnaw rahak vah na o teh, kai hah apini nama talai na ka pabawt thai han vâ na ti dawkvah na kâoupnae ni na dum toe.
The pride of thine heart hath deceived thee, O thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, whose habitation is high; that saith in his heart, Who shall bring me down to the ground?
4 Nang teh langta patetlah na kâtawm teh âsinaw dawk tabu na ka tuk nakunghai, hote hmuen koehoi kai ni nang hah na pabo han telah BAWIPA ni a ti.
Though thou mount on high as the eagle, and though thy nest be set among the stars, I will bring thee down from thence, saith the LORD.
5 Tamrunaw hoi dingcanaw ni karum vah tho awh pawiteh, amamouh ngai e duengdoeh parawt awh tih. Misur paw ka khi e ni hai youn touh teh ouk a pâhma nahoehmaw.
If thieves came to thee, if robbers by night, (how art thou cut off!) would they not steal till they had enough? if grapegatherers came to thee, would they not leave some gleaning grapes?
6 Nang teh puenghoi na kamko toe. Esaw teh puenghoi akungkhei awh toe. A hro e hnonaw teh ngit a pâphue awh toe.
How are [the things of] Esau searched out! how are his hidden treasures sought up!
7 Nang hoi kamyawng e naw pueng teh ram alawilah pâlei lah ao awh toe. Na huinaw pueng ni na dum awh toe. Nang hoi rei kacatnetnaw ni, nang hanelah tangkam a patung awh toe. Na thoumnae abaw toe.
All the men of thy confederacy have brought thee on thy way, even to the border: the men that were at peace with thee have deceived thee, and prevailed against thee; [they that eat] thy bread lay a snare under thee: there is none understanding in him.
8 BAWIPA ni a dei e teh hatnae hnin dawkvah Edom ram thung e lungkaangnaw thoseh, Esaw e mon dawk hoi a ratho kahawinaw thoseh ka takhoe han.
Shall I not in that day, saith the LORD, destroy the wise men out of Edom, and understanding out of the mount of Esau?
9 Oe Teman kho, na ransanaw ni a taki awh han. Esaw e mon dawk tami pueng a thei awh han.
And thy mighty men, O Teman, shall be dismayed, to the end that every one may be cut off from the mount of Esau by slaughter.
10 Nang teh na nawngha Jakop na theinae, thama lah na sak e yon kecu dawkvah, yeirai na phawt vaiteh nang teh khoeroe takhoe lah na o han.
For the violence done to thy brother Jacob shame shall cover thee, and thou shalt be cut off for ever.
11 Nang teh avanglah na onae hnin, ramlouknaw ni nange thaw katawkkungnaw mannae hnin, alouke miphunnaw ni ahnie khopui longkha thung a kâen teh Jerusalem khopui hah cungpam rayunae hnin nah nang teh dâw e tami lah na o.
In the day that thou stoodest on the other side, in the day that strangers carried away his substance, and foreigners entered into his gates, and cast lots upon Jerusalem, even thou wast as one of them.
12 Na nawngha teh ramlouk e tami lah a onae tueng nah laplap na khet kawi na hoeh. Judahnaw rawknae a kâhmo nah na kâoup sin mahoeh. Runae a kâhmo navah, dudamnae lawk na dei kawi nahoeh.
But look not thou on the day of thy brother in the day of his disaster, and rejoice not over the children of Judah in the day of their destruction; neither speak proudly in the day of distress.
13 Ka taminaw runae a kâhmo nah, a longkha thung kâen kawi na hoeh, a roedeng nah laplap khet kawi na hoeh, a hnopai hai lawp kawi na hoeh.
Enter not into the gate of my people in the day of their calamity; yea, look not thou on their affliction in the day of their calamity, neither lay ye [hands] on their substance in the day of their calamity.
14 Kahlout e taminaw ngang hanlah lamkâcunae koe kangdue kawi na hoeh. Runae a kâhmo nah a tarannaw kut dawk thak kawi na hoeh.
And stand thou not in the crossway, to cut off those of his that escape; and deliver not up those of his that remain in the day of distress.
15 Bangkongtetpawiteh, BAWIPA e hnin teh miphun pueng hoi a hnai toe. Na sak e patetlah ayâ ni nang koe a sak van han. Na sak e hno na lû van a pha han.
For the day of the LORD is near upon all the nations: as thou hast done, it shall be done unto thee; thy dealing shall return upon thine own head.
16 Judah miphunnaw ni, kaie mon kathoung dawk a canei e patetlah tengpam kaawm e miphunnaw pueng ni a canei awh han. A canei awh vaiteh a padoun awh toteh kaawm boihoeh e tami patetlah ao han.
For as ye have drunk upon my holy mountain, so shall all the nations drink continually, yea, they shall drink, and swallow down, and shall be as though they had not been.
17 Zion mon dawk ka hlout e youn touh ao han. Thoungnae hmuen lah ao han. Jakop miphun ni a coe han kamcu e talai bout a coe awh han.
But in mount Zion there shall be those that escape, and it shall be holy; and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions.
18 Jakop miphun teh hmai, Joseph miphun teh hmaito, Esaw miphun teh songnawng lah ao. Hmai hoi sawi toteh be a kak awh han. Esaw miphun hlout awh mahoeh telah BAWIPA ni a dei toe.
And the house of Jacob shall be a fire, and the house of Joseph a flame, and the house of Esau for stubble, and they shall burn among them, and devour them: and there shall not be any remaining to the house of Esau; for the LORD hath spoken it.
19 Akalah kaawm e naw ni Esaw e mon hai thoseh, tanghling dawk kaawm e naw ni Filistin ram hai thoseh, Ephraim yawn hoi samaria ram hai thoseh, Benjamin miphun ni Gilead ram hai thoseh a tuk han.
And they of the South shall possess the mount of Esau; and they of the lowland the Philistines and they shall possess the field of Ephraim, and the field of Samaria: and Benjamin [shall possess] Gilead.
20 Kanaannaw koe kaawm e, man e Isarel miphunnaw ni Zarephath totouh a coe awh han. Jerusalem hoi san lah a man awh teh Sepharad ram kaawm e naw ni akalae ram totouh a coe awh han.
And the captivity of this host of the children of Israel, which are [among] the Canaanites, [shall possess] even unto Zarephath; and the captivity of Jerusalem, which is in Sepharad, shall possess the cities of the South.
21 Esaw e mon lawkceng hanelah rungngangkungnaw teh, Zion mon dawk a luen awh han. A uknaeram haiyah BAWIPA e ram lah ao han.
And saviours shall come up on mount Zion to judge the mount of Esau; and the kingdom shall be the LORD’S.
