And Korah, son of Izhar, son of Kohath, son of Levi, takes both Dathan and Abiram sons of Eliab, and On son of Peleth, sons of Reuben,
2 Isarel catoun thung hoi a min bet kamsawngnaw dawk hoi a lungkahanaw hoi lawkcengkung lah rawi e naw thung dawk hoi tami 250 touh Mosi hmalah a kangdue awh.
and they rise up before Moses with men of the sons of Israel, two hundred and fifty princes of the congregation, called of the convention, men of renown,
3 Mosi hoi Aron taranlahoi ahnimouh koe, hloi na lui awh toe. Bangdawk tetpawiteh a tamimaya koung a thoung awh teh, taminaw pueng koe BAWIPA ao doeh. Bangkongmaw BAWIPA e tamimaya van vah ka taluepoung lah na kâpouk roi telah atipouh.
and they are assembled against Moses and against Aaron, and say to them, “Enough of you! For all the congregation—all of them [are] holy, and YHWH [is] in their midst; and why do you lift yourselves up above the assembly of YHWH?”
4 Hot hah Mosi ni a thai toteh a tabo teh,
And Moses hears, and falls on his face,
5 Korah hoi a huinaw pueng koe, tangtho vah BAWIPA ni apimaw amae lah kaawm niteh, apimaw kathoung tie a kamnue sak vaiteh, ama rek hnai hanelah ati han doeh.
and he speaks to Korah and to all his congregation, saying, “Indeed, [in the] morning YHWH may cause [you] to know those who are His and him who is holy, and has brought [him] near to Him; even him whom He fixes on He brings near to Him.
6 Hetheh sak awh, Korah hoi na huinaw pueng ni hmai lanae tongben lat awh nateh,
Do this: take censers for yourselves—Korah and all his company—
7 tangtho vah, athung vah hmai hah tat nateh hmuitui hah BAWIPA hmalah phum awh. Hahoi BAWIPA ni a rawi e pueng teh kathounge lah ao han. Nangmouh Levih capanaw ekvoi na lui awh toe telah a ti.
and put fire in them and put incense on them before YHWH tomorrow, and it has been, the man whom YHWH chooses, he [is] the holy one—enough of you, sons of Levi!”
8 Mosi ni Korah koevah, nangmouh Levih capanaw thaihaw,
And Moses says to Korah, “Now hear, sons of Levi;

is it little to you that the God of Israel has separated you from the congregation of Israel to bring you near to Himself, to do the service of the Dwelling Place of YHWH, and to stand before the congregation to serve them?
10 Levih capa na hmaunawnghanaw hoi ama hnai sak hanlah a ta e naw heh, hno kathoungcalah na pouk awh dawk maw vaihma lah onae na tawng awh rah.
Indeed, He brings you near, and all your brothers, the sons of Levi, with you—and you have also sought the priesthood!
11 Hatdawkvah, nang nama hoi na hu pueng teh BAWIPA taranlahoi na kamkhueng awh vaw. Aron heh bangpatet lae tami lah maw ao teh, ahni koevah na phuenang awh vaw telah a ti.
Therefore, you and all your congregation are meeting against YHWH; and Aaron, what [is] he, that you murmur against him?”
12 Mosi ni Eliab capa Dathan hoi Abiram a kaw sak, hatei ahnimouh ni ka takhang awh mahoeh.
And Moses sends to call for Dathan and for Abiram, sons of Eliab, and they say, “We do not come up!
13 Kahrawngum vah thei rumram hanelah sanutui hoi khoitui a lawngnae ram koehoi na tâcokhai e hah hno kathoengcae na maw, kaimouh lathueng vah bawi lah o han thouk na ngai bo aw.
Is it little that you have brought us up out of a land flowing with milk and honey, to put us to death in a wilderness, that you also certainly make yourself prince over us?
14 Sanutui hoi khoitui a lawngnae ram dawk na ceikhai laipalah law hoi misur takha hai râw hanlah na poe kalawn hoeh. Hetnaw e mit heh ton na phuen pouh han na maw. Ka takhang awh roeroe mahoeh telah a ti.
Indeed, you have not brought us into a land flowing with milk and honey, nor do you give an inheritance of field and vineyard to us; do you pick out the eyes of these men? We do not come up!”
15 Mosi teh a lungphuen poung teh, BAWIPA koe vah a poe awh e teh dâw pouh hanh. Ahnimae la buet touh boehai ka lat pouh hoeh. Apihai patawnae ka poe hoeh a ti.
And it is very displeasing to Moses, and he says to YHWH, “Do not turn to their present; I have not taken one donkey from them, nor have I afflicted one of them.”
16 Mosi ni Korah koevah tangtho vah nang nama hoi na huinaw pueng Aron hoi BAWIPA hmalah la awm awh.
And Moses says to Korah, “You and all your congregation, be [present] before YHWH—you, and they, and Aaron—tomorrow;

and let each take his censer and you have put incense on them, and each has brought his censer near before YHWH—two hundred and fifty censers; indeed, you and Aaron, each [with] his censer.”
18 Hahoi teh tami pueng ni hmai lanae rip a sin awh teh, hmai a ta awh teh hmuitui a phuen awh. Mosi hoi Aron teh kamkhuengnae lukkareiim takhang koe a kangdue roi.
And they each take his censer, and put fire on them, and lay incense on them, and they stand at the opening of the Tent of Meeting with Moses and Aaron.
19 Hahoi Korah ni tamimayanaw pueng hah ama taran lahoi kamkhuengnae lukkareiim takhang koe a pâkhueng awh. Hahoi hote tamimaya lathueng BAWIPA bawilennae a kamnue.
And Korah assembles all the congregation against them at the opening of the Tent of Meeting, and the glory of YHWH is seen by all the congregation.
20 Hahoi BAWIPA ni Mosi hoi Aron a pato teh,
And YHWH speaks to Moses and to Aaron, saying,
21 hete tamihu heh tawkkadekca dawk be a kahma thai nahanlah ahnimouh koehoi alouklah awm awh telah a ti.
“Be separated from the midst of this congregation, and I consume them in a moment”;
22 Hottelah ahnimouh a tabo awh teh, Oe! Cathut takthainaw pueng e muitha Cathut, buet touh yon kecu dawk taminaw pueng koe na lungkhuek han maw telah a ti.
and they fall on their faces, and say, “God, God of the spirits of all flesh—one man sins, and are You angry against all the congregation?”
23 BAWIPA ni Mosi a pato teh,
And YHWH speaks to Moses, saying,
24 taminaw pueng koe dei pouh. Korah hoi Dathan hoi Abiram tinaw e roenae rim dawk hoi yawng awh telah tet pouh.
“Speak to the congregation, saying, Go up from around the dwelling place of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram.”
25 Mosi a thaw teh Dathan hoi Abiram koe a cei teh, Isarel kacuenaw a kambawng awh.
And Moses rises, and goes to Dathan and Abiram, and [the] elderly of Israel go after him,
26 Hahoi taminaw pueng koe a dei teh, hete tamikayonnaw e rim koehoi a tâco awh. Banghai tek pouh hanh awh. Hoehpawiteh a yonae pueng dawk nangmouh hai na bawk awh langvaih telah tet pouh.
and he speaks to the congregation, saying, “Now turn aside from the tents of these wicked men, and do not come against anything that they have, lest you are consumed in all their sins.”
27 Hahoi Korah hoi Dathan hoi Abiram tinaw kathum touh teh, koung a tâcawttakhai awh. Dathan hoi Abiram teh amamae rim dawk hoi a tâco roi teh, amamae rim takhang koe a yucanaw hoi a kangdue awh.
And they go up from the dwelling place of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram, from all around, and Dathan and Abiram have come out, standing at the opening of their tents, with their wives, and their sons, and their infants.
28 Mosi ni kai kama ngainae lahoi ka sak e nahoeh. BAWIPA ni sak hanelah na patoun e doeh tie hah hete hnonaw dawk hoi na panue awh han.
And Moses says, “By this you know that YHWH has sent me to do all these works, that [they are] not from my own heart;
29 Hete taminaw niyah ayânaw due e patetlah dout boilah, taminaw pueng rek e patetlah rek pawiteh Cathut ni na patoun hoeh e han doeh.
if these die according to the death of all men, or the charge of all men is charged on them, YHWH has not sent me;
30 Hatei, BAWIPA ni a katha lah hno a sak teh, talai ni a kâko ang pawiteh, amamouh hoi kâkuen e pueng koung a padoun hoiyah tangkom dawk a hringo kâen awh pawiteh, BAWIPA ni hete taminaw heh a pahnawt toe tie na panue awh han telah a ti. (Sheol h7585)
but if YHWH does a strange thing, and the ground has opened her mouth and swallowed them and all that they have, and they have gone down alive to Sheol, then you have known that these men have despised YHWH.” (Sheol h7585)
31 Hahoi, hete lawknaw koung a dei hnukkhu hoi ahnimouh onae koe talai rak a kâbawng.
And it comes to pass at his finishing speaking all these words, that the ground which [is] under them cleaves,
32 Hahoi teh talai ni a kâko a ang teh, imthung buemlahoi, Korah e taminaw pueng hoi hnopainaw pueng hoi he a payawp.
and the earth opens her mouth and swallows them, and their houses, and all the men who [are] for Korah, and all the goods,
33 Hahoi amamouh hoi a tawn awh e naw pueng hah tangkom dawk a hringo koung a bo awh. Talai ni a kâko a cakuep teh, ka kamkhueng e naw koehoi he a kahma awh. (Sheol h7585)
and they go down—they and all that they have—alive to Sheol, and the earth closes over them, and they perish from the midst of the assembly; (Sheol h7585)
34 Hahoi a tengpam e Isarelnaw pueng teh, hotnaw e hramki lawk dawk hoi a yawng awh teh, talai ni na payawm awh langvaih telah ati awh.
and all Israel who [are] around them have fled at their voice, for they said, “Lest the earth swallow us”;
35 Hahoi BAWIPA koehoi hmai a tâco teh hmuitui ka thueng e tami 250 touh he a kak awh.
and fire has come out from YHWH and consumes the two hundred and fifty men bringing the incense near.
36 BAWIPA ni Mosi a pato teh,
And YHWH speaks to Moses, saying,
37 nang ni hmai hah tâkhawng nateh, vaihma Aron capa Elizur ni hmai thung e hmailanae tongben la hanelah dei pouh. Bangkongtetpawiteh, kathounge hno lah ao.
“Say to Eleazar son of Aaron the priest to lift up the censers from the midst of the burning and scatter the fire away, for they have been hallowed.
38 Amamouh hringnae dawk kapayonnaw e hmailanae tongbennaw hai lat nateh, khoungroe ramuk nahanelah dêi lah awm naseh. Bangkongtetpawiteh BAWIPA hmalah poe e a tho dawkvah, kathounge lah ao teh, Isarel catounnaw hanelah mitnout lah ao han telah a ti.
[As for] the censers of these sinners against their own souls, indeed, they have made them [into] spread-out plates [for] a covering for the altar, for they have brought them near before YHWH, and they are hallowed; and they become a sign to the sons of Israel.”
39 Hahoi Isarel catounnaw hanelah pahnim hoeh nahanelah Aron hoeh laipateh Jentelnaw BAWIPA hanlah hmuitui hmaisawi thueng hanelah a cei awh hoeh nahan,
And Eleazar the priest takes the bronze censers which they who are burned had brought near, and they spread them out [for] a covering for the altar—
40 Karah hoi a huinaw patetlah ao awh hoeh nahan, Mosi hno lahoi BAWIPA ni ahnimouh koe a dei pouh e patetlah bawknae khoungroe ramuk nahan a dêi awh.
a memorial to the sons of Israel, so that a stranger who is not of the seed of Aaron does not draw near to make incense before YHWH, and is not as Korah and as his congregation, as YHWH has spoken by the hand of Moses to him.
41 A tangtho vah, Isarel catoun tamihu teh Mosi hoi Aron taranlahoi a phuenang awh. BAWIPA e tamihunaw na thei awh atipouh awh.
And on the next day all the congregation of the sons of Israel murmurs against Moses and against Aaron, saying, “You have put the people of YHWH to death.”
42 Mosi hoi Aron hah taminaw pueng ni a kamkhueng sin navah kamkhuengnae lukkareiim koelah a kangvawi awh teh, khenhaw! tâmai ni king a kayo awh teh, BAWIPA bawilennae a kamnue.
And it comes to pass, in the congregation being assembled against Moses and against Aaron, that they turn toward the Tent of Meeting, and behold, the cloud has covered it and the glory of YHWH is seen;
43 Mosi hoi Aron teh kamkhuengnae lukkareiim hmalah a tho roi.
and Moses comes—Aaron also—to the front of the Tent of Meeting.
44 BAWIPA ni Mosi a pato teh,
And YHWH speaks to Moses, saying,
45 hete taminaw thung hoi aloukcalah awm awh. Tawkkadekca kahma sak nahanelah, telah atipouh. Hahoi ahnimouh teh a tabo awh.
“Get up from the midst of this congregation, and I consume them in a moment”; and they fall on their faces,
46 Mosi ni Aron koevah, hmai lanae tongben sin loe, khoungroe dawk hmai hah tat, hmuitui hah phuen nateh, taminaw pueng koe karanglah cetkhaih. Ahnimouh hanlah yontha nahan sak pouh. BAWIPA koehoi lungkhueknae a tâco toe. Patawnae lacik a kamtawng toe telah atipouh.
and Moses says to Aaron, “Take the censer and put fire on it from off the altar, and place incense, and go quickly to the congregation and make atonement for them, for the wrath has gone out from the presence of YHWH—the plague has begun.”
47 Aron ni Mosi ni dei e patetlah a sin teh, ka kamkhueng e naw koe lah a yawng. Hahoi teh khenhaw! Lacik teh taminaw pueng koe pataw a kamtawng toe. Hmuitui a phuen teh taminaw yontha sak nahanlah a sak.
And Aaron takes [it] as Moses has spoken, and runs to the midst of the assembly, and behold, the plague has begun among the people; and he gives the incense, and makes atonement for the people,
48 Tami kadout hoi kahring rahak a kangdue teh lacik teh a thoung.
and stands between the dead and the living, and the plague is restrained;
49 Hottelah Korah kong dawk hoi kadoutnaw touksin laipalah, lacik lahoi kadoutnaw teh 14700.
and those who die by the plague are fourteen thousand and seven hundred, apart from those who die for the matter of Korah;
50 Aron teh kamkhuengnae lukkareiim takhang koe Mosi koe a ban teh laciknaw pueng teh a thoung.
and Aaron turns back to Moses, to the opening of the Tent of Meeting, and the plague has been restrained.
